The dessert menu is amazing!!!The pope's pillow is so flaky and filled with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. The chocolate cake is devine! I love giving these treats out as Valentine's Day gifts. Better than a fancy card.

I've been going here for years and this is one of the best Italian food restaurants in Tucson. Happy hour is every day they are open from 4-7 pm. Highly suggest making a reservation online in advance as it always seems to be busy even on weeknights and is generally loud inside. They have both indoor seating and outdoor seating with heat lamps. Bread is always included with a balsamic olive oil garlic dip when you are first seated. Some of my favorite menu items are the lamb lollipop's with prickly pear reduction from the bar menu, agnolotti pasta, and red sauce linguine marina, which has a generous portion of seafood. For dessert the tiramisu and cannolis are both good, but my favorite item is the Pope's Pillow. Additionally, they have plenty of parking onsite in the attached lot.Helpful Hint: Don't have a late dinner on a Sunday night since they are always closed Mondays and may be sold out of some menu items.

I came here to celebrate my birthday and they were so accommodating and friendly. My only question was the salad. I wasn't expecting to get the salad still in wedge form. It was an interesting take on the salad. Everything else, was lovely. Shared a bottle of wine, ordered salad and charcuterie board to share. Pasta for dinner and then Pope's pillow and Tiramisu for dessert! Was so yummy. The renovations is a lot nicer, I'm glad they updated the place.

Delicious food. We shared 2 pastas, chicken parmigiana and 2 salads for 5. Bread and olive oil was delicious too! Service was okay. We had a strange experience where the waiter brought 9 ounce pours of wine and after one of us had taken a sip, came back to say I gave you the wrong wine. You can keep it, but you have to pay extra. He took the two glasses of wine and brought 6 ounce pours. That was bad form. Once something is served it should have been his responsibility to leave it and charge the lessor amount. The restaurant was vibrant and pretty. It was loud so in hindsight, we would've picked outdoor dining.

We had dinner here on New Year's Eve and chose to sit inside. The mussels (without sausage) were delicious--the sauce was flavorful, and the mussels were fresh and perfectly cooked. The salmon and risotto, however, were just okay and didn't stand out.The branzino initially came undercooked but was remade and cooked perfectly the second time. That said, it tasted a bit plain to me, though I suspect that might have been due to still recovering from a cold. I'll have to come back and try it again to see if it's better next time.Overall, a mixed experience, but I'd return to give it another shot.

Met a couple of girlfriends for a Friday lunch after excitedly reading the Yelp reviews of this local jewel. We sat on their lovely back patio to enjoy the beautiful fall day and enjoyed service at the hands of Andrew. We ordered iced teas all around as well as three cannelloni, chicken parm and bolognese. All were delicious - with enormous serving sizes enough to keep us each enjoying for several meals to come!

Had dinner with family at Michelangelo's last night. First I'd like to send a shout out to our waiter Todd! He was extremely competent, friendly, efficient and thoughtful. He took the time to have shared plates split before they got to the table and even subdivided those split plates on our bill which we had also split between family members. I know that's a nightmare for waiters, but Todd was nonplussed about the whole thing and went over the top with accommodating us. The food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals, large portions, and all of our food came out very quickly despite the restaurant being completely full. I highly recommend the popes pillow for a dessert, but be aware that it's enough to feed a whole table! The only reason I can't give the experience five stars, is the restaurant is oppressively loud when it's full. To the point, I felt the need to put earplugs in as my ears started ringing after being in the restaurant for 15 minutes. That is what it is and it wouldn't stop us from returning, but maybe on a night that the restaurant isn't packed!

We went there for an early dinner Selected a number of items from the happy hour menu and a few entrees as wellFried goat cheese was excellent. Covered in nuts and cooked perfectly. Crisp outside and firm interior. Was served with hot sauce that worked very well. Lollipop lamb chops were very nicely prepared and juicy. A little sweet sauce accented the flavor. Delicious Frito misto with a hot aioli sauce. Nice calamari with crisp cooked skin but soft. Done shrimp and also vegetables. A nice plate!Shrimp diavolo. Three nice size shrimp in a hot red sauce. Spicy but not overpowering. I liked the firm shrimp and the sauce. Some of the toasted bread was used to soak up the sauce...nice!A couple of ponzanella salads. They were ok. Nice size helpings either some cheese. Carbonara and Marina pastas were the entrees. The marina had mussels clams and shrimp in a red sauce. Needed more sauce and they were accommodating. Loved it. The carbonara was enjoyed and was as expected very rich!I highly recommend this place.

I went to Bottega Michelangelo for my boyfriend's parent's 50th wedding anniversary where they rented out the entire back patio. Upon arriving to the restaurant I was impressed with how nice their patio is with citrus trees/bushes, ceiling fans, and heaters. During the event the staff was friendly and attentive and made sure everyone was well taken care of. We all started off with the mista salad that had an amazing dressing on it and these awesome olives. I really enjoyed the salad. For dinner I had the Campanelle al Norma, which was campanelle pasta with roasted tomatoes, eggplant, and feta. It was delicious and was served hot. From working in a restaurant it can be difficult to make sure food is hot when there's a large party. Everyone's food came out relatively fast and we were able to all eat together. Overall it was a lovely evening and I can't wait to go back!

I've only been here for lunch, but I LOVE it! I seriously love that cake display case. I always promise myself dessert and am absolutely stuffed every single time. One of these days.....The Porchetta sandwich is the absolute best. But the pasta dishes and the Branzino are amazing too. The service is always great. It's a well thought out, comfortable space. I prefer the bar area to the main dining room, it seems a little quieter and more laid back. One of these days I'll make it there for dinner and I'll save room for dessert.
