Be careful going, because if you choose to purchase multiple boxes, they will accuse you of stealing and then when you ask for your money back when you don't get your second box, they won't give it to you. These people are thieves. If they don't like the way you look at them, they'll scream at you calling you racist names. Then pull their phone to finish you off by taking a video of you to the point that you feel threatened and harassed. The supervisor over the locations or maybe just the Tucson location is a joke. He has small mans syndrome, and loves to be superior to others. Yolanda Soto, the CEO is a bigger joke. When I called her to explain what took place, she had already heard, and formed a judgement of me. She lectured me on being healthy, belittled me for crying, and told me to be more understanding of her employees world. I did nothing wrong, I said nothing wrong. All I wanted was my second box I donated money for, if he wasn't going to give me a box, then I wanted my money back, I in no way donated that money. I was APPALLED at the treatment they gave me. I will never go to another event if theirs.

I've been to other markets like this, but found their produce to be not so fresh. This produce is top notch, the staff/volunteers are helpful friendly and quick! Help them out by bringing your own bags or a cooler on wheels. There is no better deal out there, it's 10$ for 60 pounds, but remember larger donations are excepted if you can afford a little extra! Shop and eat fresh!

This was a good deal until I got home and found most of the produce was rotting. After sifting through what they call 60 pounds of produce for $10, I ended up with only 5 pounds of edible produce. The tomatoes, egg plant, ears of corn, honey dew melons and squash was all unusable. The only usable produce was green beans and 2 spaghetti squash. Due to the quality of the produce, I would not recommend this for anyone unless you want to feed your family rotting food.

A variety of seasonal produce, what's being harvested and available at any given time. (I've had 3 kinds tomatoes, 5 kinds squash, potatoes, 3 kinds melons, cucumbers, English cucumbers, zucchini, red green yellow and hot peppers, green beans, some kind of exotic pumpkin, and one or two I'm forgetting.) i have been to Phoenix area produce distributions 6 times now, just this summer. $12.00 for 75 pounds of fresh veggies. I live in an apartment complex, some are elderly or low income, I am single, and leave at least half my vegetables in the laundry room for those who need it: I estimate I have left about 220+ pounds of vegetables out on the counter so far this year, free to whoever wants/needs good fresh veggies. Go to their website for weekly locations to get your own vegetables. http://www.borderlandsproducerescue.org - They distribute 30 to 35,000,000 pounds of "rescued food" every year. This is fresh produce that may be too small for conventional grocery stores, or over harvested relative to demand, the quality is tops, every thing I've received has been, fresh.
