I completely agree with everything stated in the review by Veneranda A. I landed here seeing Dr. Mehrabani when I left my last lousy physician and could not get an appointment when I needed one anywhere else. This office is great for availability.Dr. Mehrabani is a terrific listener, spent serious time with me, and met my medial needs. Great communication and never rushed. He has done many simple little things to make my life easier that a regular doctor would turn into an ordeal. However - my insurance is HealthNet and they will not cover what a naturopath prescribes, nor will they cover the office visit itself. HealthNet does cover the labs he prescribes though (which can be done right in his office without delay). Fortunately Dr. Mehrabani is not totally unaffordable, but, I have found a physician now that my insurance will cover. I will continue to see Dr. Mehrabani yearly though because I like his thoroughness.I have two problems with Blue Oak and it is that the female office assistant can be very rude for no apparent reason. This is totally unlike everyone else in the office I have communicated with. And, they refuse to make appointments via email, only via phone, and where I live there is minimal phone service.

I've been going to Blue Oak Clinic for several years. The clinic is run by to naturepaths, Dr. Stark and Dr. Mehrabani. Dr. Stark & Dr. Mehrabani are licensed physicians through the Arizona Naturopathic Board of Medical Examiners. They are husband and wife. One is usually working while the other is at home with the kids. Marina is the assistant.Unlike most medical offices you go to, the atmosphere here is relaxed. It doesn't smell chemically. You don't talk to a receptionist through a glass window.I come here for my blood draws. They work with LabCorp and SonoraQuest, but Marina is so much better at drawing blood than most phlebotomists, she uses butterfly needles (which are smaller and less likely to hurt or bruise) and you don't have to go online, make an appointment and sit in a cold lab receptionist office with 30 other people like you would at LabCorp or SonoraQuest. And while the doctors here practice alternative medicine, they have a thorough understanding of western medicine and can prescribe medication. The great thing is that they don't act like most primary care providers who limit their time to 15 minutes before the buzzer's off and they have to see the next patient. They take their time and explain everything. For them it's very important to educate the patient as much as treating the patient.I also come for B12 and other vitamin shots as needed.I can't say enough good about Blue Oak and their patient care.

I was also referred to Blue Oak by a friend and have in turn referred my closest friends here. I've been seeing Dr. Stark and highly recommend her and the clinic staff. This practice is built on care, compassion, and knowledge--a combination that's rarer than it should be. From the moment you walk in, someone (usually Kenneth or Marina) greets you in a way that reminds you you're a person and not a patient or a number or an appointment. Your first appointment can be over an hour long, not because you're waiting in the waiting room for over an hour but because the doctors take the time to thoroughly understand you, your history, your concerns, and your goals. Dr. Stark is a highly knowledgeable, qualified, and skilled medical professional. I feel like a valued person in a process aimed at getting and keeping me well. I've also seen Dr. Mehrabani for pain management for a nerve injury that was not managed well by other doctors. Blue Oak works with insurance to help cover the costs of blood work and outside lab testing (LabCorp) which is fantastic. I've found that the services not covered by insurance, the costs is a bit more expensive than my insurance co-pay would be for a specialist but still totally worth it.I highly recommend.

Wow! What a God send it was when another Doctor referred me to Dr. Mehrabani. I had gone through two surgeries in an 8 month period for an injury induced chronic pain problem. Neither surgeries worked and I was at my wit's end until going to Dr. Mehrabani. He spent a long time at my initial visit going through my past records and asking and listening to me and he showed so much empathy and compassion, taking as much time as was needed to try to figure out my problem. You can tell he REALLY cares about helping you. I was in tremendous pain at the time and we decided to start neural prolotherapy right away. I was amazed that toward the end of the 45 minute therapy session my pain had gone down from an 8 or 9 to about a 2. It lasted a few days even though that was just the first session. I continued to go weekly and got good results. It was the first time in about a year that I actually had some pain free or mostly pain free days every week , enabeling me to cut way back on pain medication. He also helped with some digestive and other problems I was having after doing a thorough blood work up. (Marina his medical assistant is fantastic at drawing blood, administering IV's and giving injections - very little if any pain- plus she's got a wonderful attitude). A friend of my wife's goes to Dr. Stark (Dr. Mehrabani's wife) and said she's helped her so much after other doctor's had given up.Dr. Mehrabani represents what true doctoring really is supposed to be. NO rushed 5 minute appointment and a quickly scribbled prescription thrown at you here. I really liked the fact that he tries the natural approaches first if at all possible but if and when needed uses western medicine modalities too, ( eg; my digestive issues and energy issues he used natural things that successfully worked for me too, yeah!).Dr. Mehrabani, Dr. Stark, Marina and the Blue Oak Clinic are a Tucson Treasure!
