What a wonderful find! Room after room of lovely yarns and fibers. The notions room is also quite impressive.I cannot imagine a better use for a lovely old home. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The greatest thing is that even though I am just here visiting, I can always order online or check in for advice. Love this place!

Birdhouse Yarns is a nice yarn shop. Today knitters sit around a big table. There are no yarns that grab me, or displays that lure me towards purchase. Then I'm stopped in my tracks heading for the door. I see on the table beanies knit in lovely colors with a saguaro/desert design. The Saguaro Beanie Kit by Nancy Bates is $35.00, the pattern $5.00. I am told Nancy Bates creates patterns to represent all national parks.Thank you, knitting spirits! It went right to my heart. I have spent a month near the Saguaro National Park in Tucson and am in awe of them. What a great way to memorialize the experience. The woman with a British or Australian accent, the shopkeeper, is very pleasant. Just the kind of person you hope to find in your yarn spot. At checkout the pattern is put into my Ravelry library, and they also make a copy for me.

Beautiful selection. Knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful staff. Sweet little shop that is a joy to visit and support. There's a table at the front of the shop you can knit at with other during open knit and get help or just some good company. Love it!

Oh my goodness this place is AMAZING!! The queen that runs this beautiful haven was SO HELPFUL and encouraging. I picked up knitting again and I had no clue what I was doing but she listened to what I was looking for and guided me to all of my options. She was able to look at the pattern and the gauge and knew that the suggested needles didn't make any sense for the look of the slouchy beanie. Maybe I was in awe but for good reason! She also has a website so if you don't feel comfortable going in you can order your needs from there. You can make an appointment with her to shop and to get help but if she has time and you're not trying to waste hers then I'm more than positive that she will help you with your project!! I'd recommend this place a million times over!! Even when I move again I know I will still order yarn and needles from her along with asking her for help.

One of the loveliest yarn stores I've ever been in. Unbelievably well organized and features copious amounts and varieties of yarns with practically a whole room for every fiber. . The ladies working there were helpful and friendly, even brought me a cup of coffee. While staying in Tucson for a couple of months, I went there to kill some time while the dogs were being groomed. But I didn't have to go into doggy hangover because there was a little fella there to keep me company. I sat and knit with them for a couple of hours, after buying some locally sourced yarn of course! I will definitely go back again before we head north in May.

My sisters and I took a crochet class together. The first grandchild/grandniece is on the way and we want to make some gifts. The class was informative and our instructor, Tina, was so much fun. The yarn shop is a sensory adventure with all the colors and textures. Bonus: good restaurants within walking distance.
