I have been bringing my dogs to Bear Canyon Pet Clinic and Dr. Van Erwin for 31 years now. And that's a lot of dogs. From shots to toe-nail clipping to diabetic care to teeth cleaning, the staff is both professional and efficient, as well as being kind and caring. I have come running in with emergencies and had the kindest and best care I could want even though I interrupted their day. I love these people and am glad I found them, so many years ago.

Have taken all my dogs here for twenty plus years . We have had everything from valley fever , kidney stones to rattlesnake bites . All of our dogs have lived long happy healthy lives . When we had to put our babies down they go above and beyond to help you with the grief . I am grateful for the entire staff . My new puppy loves coming here not even scared . The only issue I have is the cat hair on the chairs I'm highly allergic so I have to take a lot of allergy medicine after a visit wood chairs might be easier to get off all the hair but it doesn't take away from the excellent care our pets receive . I'm very thankful my animals are loved by the staff.

Took my cat who wasn't eating or drinking any food here her stomach was huge and swollen clearly something wrong with her. They told me nothing was wrong with her and she was fine. Took my cat to another vet and they told me she had F.I.P. A deadly cat disease which should be easily identifiable to any vet by the massive bloated stomach. Will never go to this vet again.

Lynn Van Erven, DVM and her entire staff is kind and compassionate. We have been going to Dr. Van Erven's practice for over 20 years and have always trusted her when it comes to the medical care of the furry members of our family.

Just moved to the area and needed to get steroids for my dogs allergies. Whoever answered the phone advised that they would need my dogs records prior to scheduling an appointment (not having the appointment - scheduling it). I suggested we schedule a blood draw first so that the results of the draw would be back by the time we had the appointment scheduled, and said I would work with her previous vet to ensure they'd have the records promptly. She refused to even schedule a blood draw without having the previous records. When I asked why, she simply restated the same message "we prefer to have the records prior to scheduling". She never offered to ask the vet if there could be an exception, and was very curt in her tone. I won't be bringing my pet here.

My family has been using this clinic for the care of our three dogs for about seven years now. You may meet a new front office person who is a bit green from time to time, but Dr. Van Erven, her associate vet, and the vet techs are very friendly, kind, and professional. I always feel like they really care about our pets. I recommend this clinic without reservation.

I took my 4yr old in for a checkup and update shots; he was left with eye contusions because they manhandled him into a muzzle! I called to express my concerns and the doctor didn't deny it and gave her unapologetic sincerity. She also charged for a service that wasn't even given! DO NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE WITH YOUR BABIES!!!

My son's Chocolate Lab "Bud" tested positive for Valley Fever. I had already lost a pup from Valley Fever, and recalled stopping by to ask if the Vet was experienced with Valley Fever at Bear Canyon. We began the harsh medication treatment for Bud, but every time a test or titer was done, they came back high and Vet, VanErven would put him on a stronger medication. The 3rd course of her prescritption made Bud sicker. Never once did she suggest a nutrient or change in diet, they actually said his diet was great. Since my son worked long hours and Bud is my Grand dog, I would take him in and call for results. That was another problem. The delays and the front staff really lacked in getting massages back and forth. It was always bring him back in and another large Vet bill and more medication, nothing else. Bud literally looked like he was dying. VanErven ran a clinic Liver Panel on him and she said it was extremely high. We had finally had enough when she made it clear she had no intention on getting Bud better, but to charge a huge Vet bill. I did more research and found PAWs Vet Clinic has a Vet that specialized in Valley Fever. The first thing he did was sit with us and changed Bud's diet. When the test came back the liver panel was fine... we were angry. Vally Fever titers were 1-5. The Vet wanted ot see them lower. He put Bud on four Natural Nutrients, plus the Valley Fever medication. He assured me that with the nutrients, Bud would not have the harsh side effects and would feel much better. We are now going into the 90 day treatment plan and Bud is doing great. We moved away from the Valley Fever dust and he runs a 2 acre area every day. His coat is beautiful and he doesn't have the lingering cough. He looks amazing! PAWS also requested Buds records from Bear Canyon and they got one visit date, even tough we had taken him in more than that one time. That is plain lazy, or passive agressive, not sure. They didn't even send the titer results that came from another lab.If I can say any thing about his previous treatment by Bear Canyon, do your research & take your pet to someone that has experience or that really cares. That sappy treatment you get from the staff and Bear Canyon, calling you hun, or sweetie, isn't going to save your dog. It is very condescending.Had we continued with Bear Canyon we would have had to put our sweet boy down back when he was so sick.
