BC Dance

My daughter has been dancing at BC Dance for several years which is why I decided to update my review. I can honestly say that the studio since last time I left my Yelp review has gotten bigger and better. (Literally! )I have had the pleasure of watching my daughter grow with the customized program at BC. Each student is evaluated in various areas and they receive leveled dance opportunities. If you choose, your child can also join the company and compete across the nation. The dance studio has also expanded because of their program. New studios have been added and more space reserved so that the students can practice their art. The routines for competition are always a breathe of fresh air and showcase the talent of the dancers and their ability to perform the choreography. The costumes are beautiful and my daughter early awaits each new season and routine. Why else do we love BC Dance? The relationships that my daughter has formed and the confidence that she has in doing what she loves. The instructors are there to support the students and to help them achieve their true potentials.

Hands down the BEST dance studio I have ever been a part of. My daughter had had such growth under Mr. CORY. He is an incredible director that pushes the children to be the best they can be. We love the teachers and the team atmosphere here. They really teach the girls to be cheerleaders of eachother!

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The studio owner acts like a character out of the movie "Mean Girls". We discovered almost $600 of erroneous charges on our credit card and it wasn't the first time. Instead of an apology and a quick reversal of charges, we had to keep hounding them to reverse the charges. At first the office manager was trying to defend a $260 charge and even erased the charge from the account to try and hide it. I had to show her my credit card statement which at that point they couldn't refute anymore. So unbelievably unethical. Then after the charges were finally reversed our child gets kicked out of the studio. She was devasted and cried a whole week straight, she put her heart and soul into it and he said that she essentially wasn't good enough for their studio. Now suddenly we are also accused of harassing the studio because we asked for our daughter's performance DVD's to be released to a fellow mom. The studio owner is refusing to give us our daughter's performance DVD's that we paid for. He is trying now to charge us another $100 fee for missing a "mandatory rehearsal" when she didn't miss any rehearsals. Over the last 3 yrs we've paid thousands & thousands of dollars for tuition and such to this studio. It is so unfortunate that someone that we trusted and respected has stooped down to the lowest level imaginable and instead of dealing with the situation like an adult Mr. Cory took it out on an innocent child that had absolutely nothing to do with any of it. Mr. Cory is unprofessional, vindictive, and lashes out on innocent children. Many, many families left to attend other dance studios because of similar situations. And many are afraid to speak up because they don't want their kids to suffer the brunt of his retaliation. BEWARE!!!

The half owner of the studio, who teaches full time at another studio in phoenix and only work with the girls for a few hours once a week, has a system where you as a parent are deathly afraid to voice any opinion or concern because they will write a message as seen in the pictures attached. This message went out to the entire studio - including all of the kid dancers. Extremely unprofessional and has created a system where parents have zero voice because they are very aggressive in the "just pay us and we know what's best for your family" attitude.

We love BC!! My daughter has been attending BC for over a year now and although she's young(6), she has learned so much! She loves her dance friends! This is not a studio for dancers who don't want to put in hard work. Here, they will work hard, and play hard, and it pays off! The camaraderie here between dancers is encouraging and a breath of fresh air. If you aren't sure about dance yet, their summer camps are a great way to get a good taste of what to expect!

Very unprofessional. If there was a 0 star rating I would have picked that. :) If you are looking for a dance studio to send your child... I recommend taking your business elsewhere. It is not a healthy environment for your child to grow up in, the parents are very ruthless. The instructors are too demanding for children at such a young age. And many of the children who attend there are willing to do anything to be #1.

Very unprofessional! Went in to sign up my 3 year old, and staff was not helpful and rude, was more worried about me signing up and paying rather than helping my daughter feel comfortable! Would not recommend this studio to anyone!
