One of their employees works for someone at the complex I live at and she vandalized my car because I was parked in her spot? It was an unmarked parking area where spots weren't assigned but she decided to throw a 20 lb rock on my hood. Ding my door and throw drinks etc. othemployees seem great just avoid Jessica H.

Bayada staff really stepped up to help with my mother at The Fountains at La Cholla this month when she became bedridden. I was just at a complete loss caring for her and Jo went out of her way to get my mom on their schedule. Also a special shout out to Jennifer, Helen and Lena for their care and kindness toward my mom and myself. It was only for a short time but that care made her passing so much easier for us both. Thank you all so much. Michele

Bayada did services for 2 weeks and closed. Not that impressive and recommended a caregiver. Not helpful. Employees stayed short amounts of time and left. This is Sierra Vista for you.

After leaving the rehabilitation facility I was offered this business to come to my home for OT, PT, RN, and social work. I got the feeling that they were going through the routine I had to suggest some of the things to show me how to do after back surgery here at home rather than their templated paper stick figures they were taught I felt no use for this program personally take it for what it's worth look elsewhere in my opinion. The RN that I was assigned quickly drop my case closing my case prematurely before I had a chance to finish with my social worker for Social Security disability in actuality they knew beforehand because she suggested a person that would charge $25 an hour when my insurance covers this.

I understand that my mom was going to be released from the hospital at 2:00pm and Bayada was notified on short notice so they had to scramble to find caregivers until they could set up a schedule. However, they probably get most of their clients on short notice so they should be prepared for this. The Bayada nurse came out the first day and wrote up a Care Plan. The first SEVEN caregivers with my mom did not follow the Care Plan. Part of the Care Plan was to rotate my mom every two hours to avoid bed sores. This wasn't done for the first several days she was home. They also didn't know how to scoot her back up in bed by themselves after she had squirmed her way down toward the end of the bed. My family was with my mom most of the time she had caregivers there. They had to help them get my mom back up in the bed. They had to help transfer her to the commode. One caregiver lifted her by her hands instead of under the arms. Every caregiver that came asked what they needed to do. She was on a soft food diet but one caregiver said only liquids. The Care Plan said she had an ostomy bag and how to empty it. One night caregiver didn't know she had an ostomy bag or how to change it. Bayada sent someone to the house at 10:30pm to empty the bag, which didn't need to be emptied in the first place, and show the caregiver how to do it. At one point, a nurse came out and did a video of how to empty the bag so other caregivers could do it. I'm not sure what they are trained on when they are hired but they were only babysitters for my mom. At $35.50/hour, I expected more from them! We put up signs, wrote notes of what my mom liked, where things were... We even got a notebook so the caregivers could write in it because the next caregiver didn't know what the previous caregiver had done or what my mom had done. It was only reading the notebook that the hospice nurse knew that she had a high urine output earlier in the week and that time with mom was becoming limited. We did end up with two caregivers on a regular basis that ended up being good. But it was very much a struggle! We let Bayada know our frustrations and they said they would send more experienced caregivers. Again, for the cost of the service, their caregivers should be able to move her back up in bed by themselves, transfer her to the commode, change her underwear, know to lift her by the arms and not by the hands, and to read and follow the Care Plan that was made for my mom.

I have had Bayada Nurses in my home for almost a year for respite care for my brother. While I have MULTIPLE issues with Bayada let's address the most recent issue with a caregiver named Jan. For most of the previous visits my brother has been out of bed and sitting in his manual tilt wheelchair. He is aspiration risk. All the nurses need to do is to keep him safe, give him an ensure, and make sure his TV is set accordingly. Pretty easy job, don't you think? I told Jan NOT to do vitals on Jeff ever. They are there for respite care only, and this had been discussed with the Tucson office, and they agreed not to do vitals. At least to my face anways. Jan is a nurse. I didn't think I needed to teach her how to pull someone up in bed, but I also didn't think he would have slipped down that far in the 5 hours I was gone. But, evidently he did, and upon returning home at the conclusion of my respite I walked in to find TWO nurses in my home (which I was expecting). The supervisor, Rachel, and the caregiver, Jan. They were both sitting comfortably. Jan immediately tells me that she couldn't get Jeff pulled up in bed so she left him laying flat in his hospital bed. FLAT...FOR A PERSON WHO IS ASPIRATION RISK? Doesn't seem to me that nurses would do that. No effort was made to correct the situation. I have a hoyer lift. They could have used the hoyer lift to pull him up. The hoyer and sling are in his bedroom. I have a linen closet with sheets and bed pads that could have been used to pull him up. These two nurses are incompetent. This was the LAST STRAW for me with Bayada. I was tired of complaining, then they apologize, and complaining and they apologize....TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT! BTW, it only took me less then a minute to pull my brother up in bed and solve the problem! As Jan was leaving the house she was scrambling for her bag. She wouldn't tell me what it was, and when she didn't find it she ran out the door like a dog with his tail between his legs. She KNEW I would be upset if I found the bag and what was in it. And, I did. It was her blood pressure cuff. She knew she was wrong because I asked her NOT to treat my brother like a patient, that I had two other nurses in the home every month who check his vitals, and Bayada has been asked not to. It's not about the fact that they were done, it's about the fact that I can't trust Bayada. They are sneaky and conviving. I had a nurse supervisor in my home at the second start up (there were 2), and had given her a med list. She went over it, made notes on it, and then LOST IT. Blamed it on me that I had it and never gave it to her. UGH..... She came to my home just as I was leaving to go out on my respite and looked at me like a deer in headlights and said....."Oh, are you leaving?" Moron, what do you think respite is? Am I supposed to take my 5 hours and visit with you and REDO YOUR WORK THAT YOU LOST! I told her that I would re send her the med list the next day. She responded that she would just go over his meds, and I told her NO and that I'd send them to her. I then left and returned only to find out that she and the caregiver ruffled through his draw and went through his meds. VIOLATION OF PRIVACY AND LACK OF RESPECT FOR ME TELLING HER NOT TO DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. OK, that happened at the beginning, and to sum up what happened over the bed issue. I wrote a complaint to the home office. Some twit called me from the headquarters and announced she is not a CLINICIAN, but she got the complaint, called the Tucson office and their explanation was that it was a timing issue. Are you kidding me? I called BULLSHIT on that. TIMING? They said they were working to correct the problem...BULLSHIT AGAIN! How is sitting on your ass in my living room at one end of the house working on pulling my brother up at the other end of the house? NO, they were chit chatting while my brother laid flat. They could have raised the head of the bed. They could have used the hoyer. They could have gotten sheets/pad out of the closet. THAT IS A SORRY EXCUSE and the twit I was talking to just wasn't getting it. She said she would escalate it and I said I didn't want to speak to anyone in Tucson at this time. And, YES, I screamed at her. You bet I did. When people in customer service just don't listen to you or make you feel that you are being heard, you better believe voices are going to be raised!!!!!! I continue to say NURSES DON'T DO GOOD BASIC CAREGIVING IN THE HOMES. They may be find for medical needs, but my needs are not medical.
