I was excited that they could get me in for a same day eye exam. But once I got there I got tired of waiting and left. I left after 25 minutes and after another guy was seen before me and I was there before him. I tried to be respectful by getting there 5 minutes early to fill out the I don't understand why i had to wait.

Watch out for these guys, they double bill and will not give you your money back. My wife got her exam and contacts at their Tanque Verde location, they charged her $185 for a supply of lenses and $40 for an exam co-pay. When we got an explanation of benefits from our insurance company, they had billed $250 for the lenses, our insurance paid $175, and indicated our co-pay should have been $75. When my wife contacted them, they made up some crap about a $110 charge because they were a "specialist" outlet and refused to refund the overpayment.Allen H.

I adore this practice and all of the doctors! It is because of the doctors that my vision was saved after contracting an eye disorder. The staff is extremely kind and thorough, and the choices of glasses are amazing. I get so many compliments on all of my glasses, because they are all cute!Offering hours six days a week, it is easy to get an appointment. The office is up to date on its equipment and methods, and one doesn't feel rushed when trying to make selections. Just a great optical practice!

I got some glasses from the Tanque Verde location. After a couple of days of wearing them i could not stand the glare. I took them back for a refund because the options of adjusting them or comparing them to another set glasses was not satisfactory.. I told them I just wanted a refund. Cheyenne from the store told me she would call TPD if I didn't leave. I was sold and unsatisfactory product I should be able to return it if it is unusable. Go somewhere else. Their policy states you have to ask for a refund on the date of sale. How can you ask for a refund on something you don't have.

I have been a client for quite a few years. The past 3 years I have been asked for my medical insurance info. I told them my insurance will not accept a claim from them since I see an ophthalmologist. Once again, they asked for the info. I told them I had just had an appt with my ophthalmologist. They said my insurance will accept. I walked out and will never return. If anyone asks, I will tell them to not go to Arizona Primary. Kinda sad, I liked that they are sponsors of U of A women's basketball.

If I could give zero stars I would! It was the Tanque verde location but all related. Called to make a routine eye appointment like I have every year and the lady informed me due to the fact of being diabetic it was 130.00 more for an eye exam. Despite not wanting any diabetic services as I see a retina specialist she informed me the extra charge was because I was diabetic and this is their office policy on billing!

I would absolutely NEVER recommend AZ primary eye care. Felicia and Erika have made it very clear their lab is the absolute WORST. It took several for times of both my mother and I complaining that we could not see before they let us know, I'm sorry we should let you know it isn't just you guys. Our lab is really bad and we have zero control over it. After all previous times tell g us it was just us and nothing was wrong with our glasses. They refunded one pair of lenses but refused to refund the additional two. We had to go to another eye dr, pay out of pocket for a new exam and glasses. Our prescriptions were completely different than the ones from AZ primary. So not only issues with their lab damaging glasses and inputting the wrong script but the script itself too was wrong. I would never refer anyone here!! The customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I asked several times for a call from the main manager and never once received a call. I was told to go back and give them another try but that there will not be a refund. Why after several times no less than 2 hours each time, why would I go back when their staff has already stated they are incompetent.

I want to say first that *I* like to come here, but I am also a very simple patient. I just have single vision issues, so need glasses and a vision exam every year. However... my parents have had a very different experience as of late and it is making me skeptical about their billing practices, and thus the reason for the low review. I am writing this to warn people who *don't* know more about their insurance rights and thus could be taken advantage of.According to AZPEC front desk staff, in 2024 they are now "required" to bill medical insurance over vision insurance if there medical diagnosis documented, even in passing. I work in medical billing, granted not dealing with any vision related practices, but I have read the guidelines set out by a plethora of organizations, and there's no "requirement" to bill medical insurance over vision insurance. There's a choice on which to bill, and the most common practice seems to be to allow what insurance is billed based on what the primary reason for the visit. If there's a medical reason for the visit, you can certainly bill the patients medical insurance (for example: I walked in and say "Hey doc, I think there's a shard of glass in my eye and need it checked out"). But walking in for a routine eye exam and the doctor "finding" new diagnosis that aren't even discussed with the patient, then billing their medical insurance based off of said new diagnosis, that's not ok. This happened with my fathers most recent exam. Apparently he has cataracts, and we only found out when he looked at his medical insurance portal and asked the staff why it was billed there and not to vision. The cataract is mentioned only once in the notes for that appointment, and it is not elaborated upon further. Just a small acronym stating it. The front desk staff also claims they will not bill a secondary medical insurance for patients who have two insurances. This is 100% in violation of their contracts with the medical insurance to not do so, assuming they are in network with the patients two medical insurances. My mother has an upcoming appointment and they wanted to charge her her medical insurance copay, even though she has met her out of pocket max with her insurance, and won't owe anything. When she asked about why they would need to bill her medical insurance, they stated because she take a drug that affect vision. She's taken this drug since the 2000s! It's not even prescribed by the eye doctors! There's nothing to further extrapolate on or bill to the medical insurance for that reason.I am urging readers to consider what their vision needs are, and even if there is a hint of something "medical" in nature, to go elsewhere for a routine vision exam.

They have very poor customer service skills. Went out of their way to make fun of multiple guests, mess up a pair of glasses and be agitated when asked for them to be repaired/fixed.
