The restaurant and bar in the Arizona National Golf Club, dubbed the 19th Hole, wears many hats. They serve breakfast and lunch daily and a Sunday brunch to golfers, golf club members, Sabino Springs residents, and the public. Two evenings a week, the restaurant is open for dinner. Wednesdays are usually themed and casual: burgers, enchiladas, pasta. Friday nights are fancier. Tonight was prime rib.Mouthwatering aromas greeted us as we entered the lobby. Good sign. We were seated, ordered drinks, and then made our way to the buffet, where the restaurant manager carved the prime rib and roast pork. There was straight horseradish, horseradish cream, and au jus for the meat. That beef was succulent: My medium-rare slice was juicy and flavorful; the hub said his medium well was also perfection. The crispy well-browned and seasoned potatoes were delicious, and I loved the sautéed zucchini, onions, and mushrooms. House-made sourdough bread was a perfect accompaniment. I took an end chunk because I love fresh, chewy bread. Pineapple upside-down cake topped with real whipped cream completed the meal. The cake was really moist and not too sweet, but I was so full the hub happily finished mine. Dinner was worth every penny of the $30 each tab. And the view was the icing on the cake, so to speak. The grill, open to the public, is on Snyder, between Harrison and Houghton. Worth the drive!

I played Arizona National Golf Course with 8 friends (two groups of four as best ball). The desert scenery and mountain views were amazing and added a beautiful backdrop to our game. The course seemed busy and the pace of play was slower than we expected, especially since we were not strong players. Our second group kept bumping up to the first group and it felt that we were being played on top of both groups before and behind our group. We got told to seperate once, which I understand from optics, but we were really trying to play apart but it seemed we were having to wait longer times to start our next tee.The staff at the club house was nice but more casual, while the starter was very friendly. The driving range is nice and wide open and there is a putting green to get you warmed up before your round. Make sure to bring waterBecause it's a long 18 holes. Overall, Arizona National Golf Course is a solid choice. The beautiful views, well-maintained course, and variety of pars make it a great place to play. It's definitely worth checking out, especially if you enjoy a bit of a challenge.

Today was the second time my brother and I played this course and we both rate it outstanding. This course offers it all - well maintained tee boxes (many are elevated and require you to hit over hazards or through narrow windows), fairways and greens (good sized with slight undulations); challenging tee shots, some hazards; and the best views (along with Lookout Mountain in Phoenix) of any of the Arizona courses I have played. Highly recommended if you're in the Tucson area.

Was in the area for a golf weekend. This was our first of three stops. Glad we got this course out of the way first.Greens were slow, took us 5-1/2 hours to finish the round. At least three holes it were three groups stacked. As you can see, it just wasn't an enjoyable experience. And top it off, not their fault. It was just hot, with no shade to cool off a bit. Add all this together, not fun. However, with that said. There we're some great holes. If the pace were to be quicker. This review could have easily been four stars. Hope to play it again with a quicker pace.

This review isn't for the golf course, but for the lodging. We rented The Casitas (thanks to the positive reviews from Yelp). Our 2 - bedroom with a kitchenette for 2 adults and 3 kids under 11 was definitely worth it's weight in gold. The views from our second floor room overlooking the golf course and surrounding areas were astounding. The workout gym was decent and the pool /hot tub was even better. They even have a machine for people with body movement issues available for lowering in the water. Everyone from the cleaning staff to the security guard at the front gate seemed friendly and in good spirits. What I didn't like:- The bugs. I understand; it's near the mountains, nature and all of that.It wasn't anything too bad, just a few spiders and some ladybug-sized critters. The room provided bug spray and we took advantage of that.- Streetlights, or the lack of them. I also get it's an exclusive club; maybe streetlights bother some, but at night especially out there, it would've been nice. The parking lot also, but that gets a pass because they provided lit walkways. What I loved:The digital thermostat; high tech, just like on TV and the movies!! (Sorry, I geek - out at the littlest things!).Overall, we had a great time here. Highly recommended.

The course was in great shape. The customer service, not so much. Our cart died on the 16 hole. We called the pro shop, only to get a response from an answering service that said they didn't think anyone was left in the pro shop. So we were basically on our own. Took us almost an hour to walk back to the clubhouse to get another cart . We were never offered any consolations.
