Stay as far away from these guys as you can. They talk a good line and the price is close to others but cheaper. After that, forget everything they told you and wrote into the contract. They will do what they want, when they want to do it. They have lied to us several times about every aspect of the build including buying the materials when I asked for our money back, and then 6 weeks later, told us they just bought the materials. They said they fit the door prior to powder coat and then when it didn't fit, it was our fault.Door screen rattles like a Home Depot special. We are now 7 months into this disaster, and collecting data for the judge.Yikes - Don't go here.

From the date of ordering my door to today has been 6 months. I ordered a custom door and from day one provided very specific instructions as to what I wanted as well as having both the owner's daughter (for the initial consult-I was told there would be no issues) and later, the owner (Randy) come to look as well as taking pictures of my Mom's door which I wanted to replicate. Several aspects of the door had to be redone. Exact specifications to Applebee's had been provided on multiple occasions but due a failure to communicate amongst the various employees involved and properly document requests, the colors of the door were reversed and now I have been asked to pay an additional $500.00 (splitting the cost with Applebee's) to have the door repowder coated. The cost of the door was approx. $2,750.00 and I have already paid $1,350.00. Now I am left the choice of paying even more money to fix the error or losing my one half down payment. My experience with Applebee's has been disappointing and costly. Based upon my experience, I would encourage anyone to have all aspects of the process (including paint choice) to be put in writing and request a specific delivery date for your door or do your research and choose another business and avoid the headaches.

I'll never go here again. My gate repair project was mishandled at every step - poor communication, couldn't find my gate, untrained workers, and then they welded it backwards! A ridiculously high $50.00 price for a couple minutes of fix it welds, avoid avoid avoid.

They did a railing for me 2 years ago. It was fabricated wrong twice. The final product was barely acceptable quality. It was powder coated and now the powder coat is cracking and flaking off. There was no primer and there was rust beneath the paint. During the 6 months it took them to do this, they didn't answer the phone or return calls.

I don't know who/where these one-star reviews are coming. I called their main business line, talked to Randy (veteran & owner), and although he "joshed" me about Toyota vs. Jeep, had me come right over to get my 1977 Toyota LC's back seat fixed. We pulled back some of the upholstery, and his welder Manny was able to make the fix where it sheared through in two places -- all while I waited. We told Navy stories for a bit, and it was all good. I'm certainly happy to recommend this veteran-owned business to all my friends and family as well as anyone who comes across this review. We'll be back with security door needs at some point, looking forward to having them do the work.

Appleby's used to be a terrific place to get the best wrought iron work done in Tucson. Unfortunately, not anymore. They're under new management and they are disorganized, don't communicate well, make false promises, and do substandard work. I had a large project that was bungled from beginning to end. Multiple promises were made about project completion and not kept. The quality of work was well below what I had become accustomed to under the former management. Very disappointing!

Randy and his guys did a fantastic job building a cool firewood rack for me. Randy likes a creative project. he's resourceful, and communication is great. The price was very reasonable too. I'll be a return customer!

Appleby's was recommended to me by a friend. I called Randy. He came right over, promised me the moon and the stars, delivered the door on time and then came problems. The door never fit right and the matching gate had a similar issue. His installers, instead of trying to assess or fix the problem just muscled everything into place. When I called Randy to take a look and tell me what the problem was, he drug his feet(literally and figuratively). Finally he showed up for an appointment and I ended up helping him take the door down. He basically said that he was sorry about the gate but there was nothing he could do about it. He promised to get the required pieces powder coated for the door and back to me "as soon as I have another project with the same color and coating requirements". Finally a year later, I called him(he did not remember me or my situation and blamed it on not taking good notes, etc, etc.). He became angry at me and demanded that I tell him from beginning to end the scenario. He came out and put the door back up with makeshift parts that he had in his truck. He said he would get back to me with the aforementioned powder coated parts. It now has been 2 years and still nothing.
