Mary and dogs

It's been 3 years since my last review so I thought I'd update. I'm still taking my dogs to Animal Watchers and I still think they're the best kennel in the county. I particularly like that Mary and Tom live right there next to the kennel so I know my dogs always have someone nearby. I board my 4 dogs regularly - maybe 1-2 times a month for several days at a time - so it's important that my dogs are comfortable and safe when I'm away from them. Their dropoff/pickup times have also expanded and they're pretty flexible with accommodating reasonable requests. As long as I have dogs, Animal Watchers is where they're going if I can't take them with me. With the addition of an onsite groomer (Michelle), I don't have to take my dogs anywhere else to be bathed and groomed. Michelle has been able to schedule them almost anytime I request and her prices are incredibly reasonable, much more so than the big box groomer in town.

I love their Dock Diving and Agility Classes! FUN!My Smooth Collie loves all the staff! My Shih Tzu mix Abbywas having seizures after grooming. I tried 7 groomers, all good, but with Michelle at Animal Watchers she is confident, calm and NO SEIZURES! She is the best.

My mother has been boarding with Mary for years. Recently, when mom broke her hip and was hospitalized for weeks, I was able to call on Mary to care for her dog. I live on the East coast. I cannot tell you what a comfort it was to have Mary to rely on. She regularly grooms my mom's dog when she is in Mary's care, and Mary went so far as to lavish special attention on the dog due to the stress she was under while not having my mother nearby for weeks on end. My family and I are all indebted to Mary and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I have only utilized their grooming services but can tell you Michelle H. Is incredible. I feel she really specializes and takes the time with long hair dogs. Never cutting the hair, but getting every tangle out. My dogs never want to leave her

We love taking our dog here. The staff's was friendly, price of the boarding and extra activities are affordable. I feel good that our dog's having fun too while we are gone on our mini vacations. The only thing we don't like is their drop off and pick up time. Other than that, I would totally recommend them. :-)

Beware!I needed a place to board my two little dogs(both under 15lbs), so I took a visit to this kennel, I was shocked. The place in general is unmaintained and does not seem safe. The kennel runs are scary, the fencing is ripped up, the posts are decayed, there is abundant jagged, sharp wire and metal, the run will be exactly the same whether a 10lb dog or a 200lb dog is boarding (the door in the run for the dog to go inside and outside through was twice as tall as my littlest girl), there were many gaps in fencing and runs that at least one of my girls could get through will little effort. I saw a loose, concrete brick being used as a step for one of the smaller dogs! I also learned, a short time ago, due to the dilapidation of the facility, a bigger dog got out and almost killed another dog. And the owners are blaming the dog!The people seemed competent enough, however, the whole visit was rushed, the total time I was there was under 10 minutes. I was made to feel as though my legitimate questions and genuine concerns weren't even worth a few extra minutes of their time to answer and address. They do a decent job of masking the problems, but look a little closer, they are there. Please, for the sake of your beloved furbabies, look elsewhere.

My cat has stayed there twice. Each time we brought his food, bowls, and food scooper so that he would feel comfortable. The first time we picked him up we found they put a sign on his cage that said, "Caution". Both times we found his food scooper all dirty on the table. The overall cleanliness and attractiveness of the place was really poor. Not to mention my cat was so upset each time they he didn't want to get back in his bag to go home.

As a former employee I can tell you that this is the absolute worst place to take your animals. It's conveniently located on your way out of town to the high way but that's the only positive. I recommend somewhere else just so your pups can get proper care. The owner is incredibly rude to her customers and her employees.Their idea of cleaning the inside of the kennel is taking a bucket of water and just scrubbing as many as they can get with the same dirty water and odoban. They do bleach the outsides. Dogs do not have access to water the entire time. They have 1 water bowl the entire time they are there. They could be there for a few weeks or a few months and the dogs will have the same water bowl and it won't be cleaned until after the dog leaves. The water bowl is outside and the dogs are locked inside at night and in the mornings when it is cold. When they pick up poop in the runs they don't clean out the scooper and just keep poop in until it's full. So if a dog is sick most likely the dogs down the line will get sick as well. They don't clean the poop up in the yards until after every single dog has gone out. So if your dog eats poop it probably eats another dog's poop. A lot of dogs get diarrhea while there. If that is the case the dog doesn't get fed and is just given a human anti diarrheal and the owners are never contacted about it. The safety there is a major concern not just for your pets but for employees as well. There's a rodent infestation so they put the dog food in bins. There are screws poking out that dogs can cut themselves on them. The doors that let the dogs go in and out and shredded from dogs chewing them and they haven't bothered to fix them. The cat condo doors are not stable at all. They fall off all the time. I in fact had one fall on my head giving me a concussions. They usually only have one person working so if a dog fight does break out the one person working may not be able to break up the dog fight and may get injured in the process. Play times are advertised as 15-20 minutes. If your dog does go out it only goes out for maybe 5 minutes. If your doesn't go out they still charge you for it. The site says that they interact with your dog through out the day. That means when they go outside, get fed, and medicine if they need it.I do not recommend this place to anyone. It does not supply and safe and nurturing environment for your pet.

We have used Animal Watchers for the Doggie Daycare services a few times a week for the past 2 years and we have been very happy with the service. Our dog gets very happy once we make the turn into the facility. We have been in the kennel area and have notice the staff will place any kennel out of order if repairs are needed and they seem to be addressed by them in a timely manner. The facility is clean and we see the staff making a genuine efforts to accommodate the animals needs as if they were part of their own family (play times, walks, event taking our boy out to the swimming pool during the warmer months). We have also used the services offered such as Obedience Training, Agility Training, and the Dock Diving in the Summer. We have not noticed any issues that are not addressed in a timely manner. I am a Manager of a Business that works with the public and I understand the importance of "Customer Satisfaction". Animal Watchers has in my opinion to meet their Customers requirements.
