I took my dog to the ABC Low-Cost Pet Care Clinic on Craycroft and was deeply disappointed. Previously, I had gone to the ABC vaccination clinic on Broadway and had a positive experience, which is why I chose to try this particular clinic. The office visit/exam fee was $45. Normally, with any vet clinic, this would include palpation of the dog's body to assess organs and muscles. Normally, they also look in the pet's ears and eyes. Not so at ABC clinic. The vet assistant (the person who led me to the exam room) looked in one of my dog's ears as an afterthought just as she was leaving the room. I can't even say she looked. She pointed a device in the general direction of one ear and exited the room. The concerns I had listed on the form included dental, occasional limping, sensitivity when being picked up, occasional cough, paw-licking, etc, so I think a brief general physical exam was warranted. I also had asked for his nails to be clipped, but when they told me it was $25, I changed my mind. At the ABC vaccination clinic it was $20, and groomers usually charge $10.The vet looked in his mouth and listened to his heart with a stethoscope. She said he had a heart murmur. When I asked "What's that?" she shrugged and repeated "A heart murmur!" (like, duh, any idiot knows what a heart murmur is!) She then said that if his heart is enlarged, they would put him on meds, and if not, they could use anesthesia for dental surgery.I was consoling and holding my dog to keep him from jumping off the table and bolting, because he is terrified of vets and groomers. Therefore, I couldn't look up 'heart murmur' to determine its definition and implications until I got home. I know he had a very rapid heartbeat, because he was panicked just by being there.

ABC Pet Care Clinic has been my dogs' regular pet clinic for the last four years. I had both of my dogs neutered and all physical exams done here. My dogs also get their vaccines at the central location. They keep it very affordable! Dr. McDole has been my dogs' provider ever since their first visit and is very professional. He has great bedside manner and explains everything thoroughly! He takes his time examining my animals during their check-ups and you can tell he cares about his patients. I brought my dog in for an x-ray and he had the technician take multiple x-rays, so he can give me a better diagnosis, at no-charge!The front desk and staff are also great! They happily greet me whenever I enter the clinic and are always prompt when checking me in. The technicians are very educational and informative when I have questions.I recommend this clinic to anyone looking for an affordable clinic with caring and kind providers and staff!

Doctor Grove has given our English Bulldog the best care. We use to take him to a nearby Animal Hospital that only appeared to care about the money and not the dog. The hospital wanted to perform costly but not necessary surgery on our dogs leg. We didn't bring him there because of his leg, we brought him there because he was really sick and could barely breath. We did not think he would live much longer, so they recommended that we should think about "end of life" options. We then decided to take Dozer the Bulldog to ABC on Craycroft Road to see if they could do anything for his extremely labored breathing problem. Dr. Grove really cared about making him better and prescribed medicine that really turned him around and he is now almost back to his old self. Dr Grove also recommended getting a brace for his leg (something the hospital never mentioned to us). We are very thankful to Dr. Grove and all the staff at Animal Birth Control as they were all amazing.

The staff here is exceptional. I love having peace of mind when bringing my pet here. It's very easy to call and schedule appointments but please be mindful and schedule accordingly because they can get busy. My dog had his teeth cleaning here and it was the best. Can't beat the prices and care here!Even though we live 30 mins away we will be a returning client!

I've always had a positive experience here. The staff are super nice and I feel my pets are well cared for. I had to put my 16 year old dog down a few months ago and had 2 doctors and a vet tech in the room with me and my family. I felt touched that they were crying alongside us.

Our appointment was at 8:15, we were early. They were late. Forty-five minutes late. We have been coming to this place for five years. We have always have our three dogs immunizations done here. One of our babies has a dietary problem which requires her to eat special prescription food. She even had a very expensive surgery by a specialist. Kidney stones and bladder crystals sometimes UTIs. So when it is time to have her yearly exam for the prescription food we have been bringing her here (for five years) because of course it is less expensive than real veterinarians. These people have a five year record of examinations, prescription records and immunizations. The doctor comes in and immediately demands a urine test even after she is informed that she had two urine tests done five and six months ago with a real vet. We provided her staff with the name of the vet where the tests were performed and reiterated that we come here every year for this exam. The so called vet here said they need to know why she needs the prescription food. We politely asked her to check the records (past five years remember) as I am sure they don't issue prescriptions without the reason why. The so called vet ran out of the room without any explanation. The vet tech then came back with the news that her real doctor was in surgery and could not send her records. Really, it takes a doctor to fax a dogs medical records? With this being said I asked the third person to enter the room "what does your medical records say"? Apparently they did not say why they prescribed the prescription food. Of course we told her and of course this was not sufficient information for her. We are very upset about this whole deal because we believe that the so called vet was only trying to pad our bill with unnecessary tests. We had to leave without any prescription for our baby.

I have used ABC fo years, however this was my first dental experience with them. I am BEYOND pleased. They treated my pups with care and compassion. As some one who works with animals...I appreciate that. My pups both got dentals....and I was told they would need extractions when they were evaluated a couple months ago. Both of them are a bit over 7 YO, so bloodwork was needed, and I opted for IV fluid as well as X rays. I was expecting a total of 1200 to 1400 dollars fo both pup...as I was quoted. My total was 980.00 dollars....for BOTH pups to get dentals. No extractions needed. I got a call with an update in early afternoon telling me all had gone well. The staff went over the instructions after the dentals.....I paid. Then they carried my high as hell pups out to the car. The staff here REALLY care for the animals......and my respect fo them free a bit more after the pups dentals. Shout out to Shannon...the receptionist....as some one who is front line in my job dealing with the public....I APPRECIATE the patience and caring!

Be prepared that first come first serve is not true at all I was there at 745am for opening by 9am the second person in line knowing it was going to get busy and I still needed to be at work (had asked my supervisor if it was alright to be late) and the staff comes out at 845 to start checking people in when I explained it was my first time at this location I was told to go to the end of the line which now had over 25 people and my dog was getting very anxious with all the other animals.

I have used ABC for years! The staff have always been kind and helpful, reasonable prices, and reduced/sliding fees for those who meet certain income requirements. The only issue I ever had was one vet at the SW side could not/would not calculate medications for my Maine Coon (26 lbs, nose to tail is about 4' long). They kept giving me dosages for a normal sized cat (aprox 8-12 lbs). Other than that they are fantastic and are very affordable.

This is a shout-out and great big THANK YOU!! to Dr. Groves at ABC/Craycroft. She's the best and I say this having owned many, many pets over the years. My dog is 12 1/2 and has dementia, resulting in sundowner's syndrome. Just like humans, this causes her to panic and pace starting in late afternoon. It's just awful. Well, Dr. Groves called me (yes - she called me!) with suggestions of meds to try. She went through the list and determined not only the best option for us but where I could purchase it for the most reasonable price at a local pharmacy. Who does that these days? I appreciate her compassion and her skill so very, very much. ABC is fortunate to have her on board and so am I!
