I ordered the Gyro with Fries meal with a drink & I ate at the restaurant. Price was $17.70 including tax, so a bit pricey for lunch IMHO, but everything is pricey these days. Food was delicious, a hearty portion, and hot. It's a small "mom & pop" business that was clean and is in a safe area. Customer service was very good & I will come back. I heard the pizza is very good, so maybe I'll try that next.

Well I finally stopped in this little mom and pops pizza shop. Been driving by it for so many years without ever stopping there. I read all the reviews before going today and was kinda scared about being disappointed. I definitely wasn't. All I got was 1 slice of pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and a brownie. The brownie was ok, but nothing too special. The pizza though, was amazing! Definitely got a huge slice for about 7 dollars. The amount of dough used, made it not thin, but not thick crust. Basically perfect crust! The sauce was good. The cheese was excellent. The environment wasn't the best, but was pretty comfortable. Service was excellent. It's not everywhere that you can go to get a big single slice of pizza and I'm so glad to have a spot now. I really wish I would have started stooping here years ago. The thing about stopping here is how glad I am that I stopped. That and I don't plan to stop stopping here anytime soon. Ok, I'll stop now.

What a charming little hole in the wall. I got the gyro sandwich (+ an extra tzatziki) here, to-go, for ~$11. It came out quickly and little bag of chips was also included. It was a modestly sized gyro on what I think was a homemade pita. The tomato slices they included were perfectly ripe. They included both white and red sliced onions. Having the option is nice, but I only used the red onions. The tzatziki was good, but slightly vinegary, and it complemented the gyro meat, which was well seasoned and fresh. It was a filling meal but not excessive, which I appreciate.I would come back here, either for another gyro or to try the eggplant parm.

The gyros at Angelo's are LEGIT. We've eaten multiple times at Angelo's and have never been disappointed. The gyro meat is super flavorful and tender. My pita is always stuffed full too. We found Angelo's by accident and it appears to have been in the area for a very long time. Somehow they've managed to hang on through the construction on Ruthrauff and COVID and are still putting out excellent food. We've never eaten anything but gyros there but SO MANY people come in to pick up pizzas that I would venture a guess that their pizzas are pretty good too.Angelo's is a bit of a hole in the wall in an industrial park on a pretty deserted road at the present time (I-10 construction) but I hope things pick up tremendously and Angelo's stays around to feed the people.

I am new to the Tucson area, from the east coast and I tell ya' I'll pass on this place. When I walked in the place was empty and all of a sudden 4-5 people appeared like they were having a grand opening (or here's our next victim). I ordered a gyros , two because of pictures. I am use to seeing the lamb on the usual wheel in the front of the restaurant and it wasn't. I was thinking, this is going to be interesting. Interesting it was. I thought I had a choice of lamb or beef so I asked for lamb. The lady stated it's lamb and beef. Well I ordered anyway, when I arrived home the meat was in chunks. The sandwich smell like a gyros and looked similar. I forced myself to choke it down.I said let's see if my dog like the meat portion. Well my dog gave me that "I'm good look" and did not want to have anything to do with it. I just tossed the remaining sandwich. Maybe it's a southwest thing. When I find an authentic gyro here in Tucson or If you know of a good authentic gyros restaurant in Tucson, please let me know? This place is not it!

This place is somewhat of a neighborhood institution, as it has been around for many years. Since I used to have a client who lived nearby, I remember coming here often, and have fond memories of eating pizza and working on homework here when I was in college. In a way, this place reminds me a lot of growing up in New Jersey. Every neighborhood had a small local pizza joint that they frequented. In fact, where I grew up, there were about 4 within a mile from me, and they were all different from each other. Just like my neighborhood joints, the pizza here is not the best, but it's not the worst either. It is made quickly, with quality ingredients, and it comes out of the oven very hot and crispy. Can't say I have had anything else, because I do not need to. To add to the feel, they also have a few arcade games here as well that you can play. It reminded me of my childhood.

We recently moved to Tucson from Massachusetts. The gyros we've had in New England were a bit different so it was a change for a traditional gyro recipe. We are accustomed to the tzatziki being in the gyro and not on the side. I get you don't want the pita to get soggy but I wanted my sandwich assembled to eat right away, not bring it home to assemble. The dish was a wrapped pita with 90% beef medallions and 10% lamb medallions, chunks of white and purple onion and a couple slices of tomato. yes, the tomato which is moist by nature was in the sandwich but the sauce was not. Go figure. Recommendation: put the french fries in the pita, add lettuce and thin slices of cucumber. The onion was too large and not thinly sliced. The pita was fresh and I liked that. French fries tasted like they were frozen crinkle fries baked in oven. This was a $13 meal plus tax. The tzatziki was average - a bit watery and the boys said they tasted a flour thickener. We ordered two.Our control meal was a steak and cheese sub/grinder. It's a staple, right? I mean, how can this go wrong? Well....First of all the meat tasted boiled, not grilled or sauteed. The green peppers were so large at first I remarked "who puts pickles in a steak and cheese?" Again, chunky vegetables thrown in. The sub had absolutely no flavor. We ordered one "lamb" gyro with fries, one "lamb" gyro with complimentary chips and one steak and cheese sub with complimentary chips. Final bill with tax was $36.85. Reasonable price but all three of us were greatly disappointed. This is our first time visiting this place and we will not be returning. We expect a sandwich to be presented ready to eat when ordered and we felt the gyros needed to be assembled. The boys liked the quality of the meat in the gyros but I protest that if it is marketed as a lamb gyro then it should have only lamb. The meat should have been marinated, it was not. We will be looking for another restaurant to try.

We had a pepperoni and olive pizza, which was very good. I lived in New Jersey for several years, the pizza was almost as good. I think the difference is way the cheese is on the pizza. In New Jersey, they put a lot of cheese on it and it didn't lay flat like Angelo's. We also had an antipasti salad, which could have been better but was okay. We'll definitely get pizza from there again.

Cute little hole in the wall, nothing I expected at all. The service was wonderful and very inviting. The pizza was delicious! Not greasy and not to heavy, tastes like they put some time into making it. We also ordered the fried combo of ravioli, zucchini, mushrooms and mozzarella sticks. Ravioli was a bit over cooked but all in all good. Ordered the Greek salad and it was very fresh. That being said the prices are a bit higher than anticipated given there's no real ambiance but that's what happens when you visit a hole in the wall. In the end it wasn't a bad experience and we'll return knowing what to expect.

It's ok. I was hoping for a solid NY style pizza but between the crust, sauce and cheese this place was not it. Not better than chain pizza so no reason to choose them over anything that cost less. I would rather get more of the same quality food per dollar going with Little Caesar's. That should tell you something.
