American Legion Post 109

It's been about 10 yrs since I've had been here. They have hosted the Phantom Society during thier Phancons at Davis Monthan AFB/309th AMARG. It was a nice side trip when they hosted us with a lunch as the vast majority of the Society members are veterans. The times we went they had great food and were gracious hosts to us. And the highlight was seeing the Thunderbird F-4E Phantom II that they are the caretakers of along with local Scouts. They also have a very cool Phantom mural inside that was painted after our 1st visit there in the early 2000s I believe.

The members and guests at this post are some of the most amazing people I've ever met in the bar business. Most of the staff, the commander and people on the committees are awesome as well. I absolutely loved working there. If not for the unknowledgeable, inexperienced management of the bar, this place would have been one of best jobs I've had in my 35 years behind a bar. I'm old school and still believe in customer service. Having a supervisor wave off customer requests, saying they'll drink what we have, was new to me. Being told to slow down because members are used to waiting, was shocking. It's better to have a few faster ones, rather than having them all equally slow. Running out of the most used alcohol while having new unknown items only the manager wanted, was also new. I have moved on but am irritated because I believe the people at this establishment deserve the best service and the items they like. Hopefully at some point, they'll hire a bar manager that is at least half as good as everyone else there. They deserve the best

Stopped in for their fish fry a few weeks ago. The wait time was atrocious...almost an hour for takeout. The lady hostess was rude and obnoxious and yelled at us and the other staff who were working. No place to sit and wait, place smelled awful, totally rude people who work there. After we received our food (way overpriced), we got home and couldn't eat more than a bite. The fish tasted like creek water, the potato's were crunchy and gross, even the roll was awful. Awful!

Wonderful environment of people from young to older, having a good time on a Saturday night. Great beer and liquor prices. Pool tables, dart boards, karaoke, pull tabs, and corn hole boards...plenty to do here. A lot of room inside. We have also frequented the Saturday/Sunday morning breakfasts they serve, great food. Some Fridays they do country fried steak, spaghetti, or fish fries. Very friendly service here every time we have visited. Will return often.

Great place. It's always fun to hang out with other Veterans. Haven't had any dinners there yet but have breakfast on the weekends. Friendly staff, good service. Food is good with the exceptions of the Hash Browns. Worst we've ever had. I mention this to them every time and they thank me and say they will look into it but nothing has changed yet. So we get a bowl of fruit instead of the Hash browns.The place is clean and the bar is fun. Give it a try.

I love this place so much I became a member. The atmosphere is what you make it. It can be lively or it can be the perfect place for a nice quiet drink after work. Prices cannot be beat.

Great breakfast! Very modest price! Public is welcome! Saturday and Sunday mornings 8-11!

I have been a long time member but lately, cannot stand the shouting screaming female bartender named Juliet. I want to walk out when this bitch is working She belongs at the Bashful Bandit bar not with Vets. Many of us are officers and do not appreciate the rowdiness she institutes.She serves glasses with lipstick from last patrons all because she is too lazy to wash. Cocktails in cheap plastic cups.Forget common courtesy and service.Because she has been there awhile she assumes all authority. No oversite, no management. This woman is an embarrassment.The American Legion Post 109 tries hard to support the community and does not need this stain under its employ.
