Great optometrist with unforced management errors. I scheduled my appointment a year ago. I received reminder messages from just last week. I went to my appointment today and the doctor was out for the day. I was the only person on the schedule and they didn't even call to cancel. The person at the front desk saw my name in the appt. book and didn't notify or reschedule me. They let me waste my time off work. They are undermining a great optometrist. I respected my appointment. You know the rest.

I visited the sunrise location today and had a wonderful experience! Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. Dr Setlock was very thorough and made sure I understood all my options. I would definitely recommend Alvernon Optical and Dr. Setlock

I had a great visit. It's been over ten years since my last eye checkup and I had a plenty of concerns. From the moment I came in I was greeted by courteous and professional staff. I had a nice chat with the receptionist and the doctor's assistant who took my initial readings. They were all very personable and helped me feel at ease.Dr. Cinalli looked at my first readings and told me that he could tell from those that my eyes were fine. But he followed that up with asking what has been bothering me, and what my concerns were. He continued and gave a very thorough eye exam and finished with a great explanation of the status of my eyesight, causes of my issues, where I can expect my eyesight to go in coming years, what sort of prescription I need, and why.I showed him my old glasses from years ago and he was honest and told me my eyesight hadn't changed enough to warrant a new set. He didn't try to swindle me into buying new frames or push any products on me. He simply explained my eyesight had changed a little since last time, but that I was good with what I had. Even still he wrote me a prescription should I have felt like updated my current pair.They gave my old pair of glasses a tune up for $6, tightening up the arms, swapping out the pads, and cleaning up the lenses. I felt like my glasses were new again. I was impressed with my whole visit and I'd recommend this place and doctor to anyone.

I had a refraction 5/20/24. I told Dr Wanon, the optometrist, to please increase the reading strength so I could read my phone. He didn't. When I picked up my glasses on 6/10 (the lab messed up twice so my glasses weren't ready until 4 weeks), I couldn't read my phone & driving was dangerous because everything was blurry. I made another appointment with the optometrist who tweaked the far vision and increased the reading strength (I have this problem often - half of the time they believe me and do it and it's fine, the other half, they have to re-do the glasses). Again it took 4 weeks because of the lab and I picked them up 7/23. The reading problem was resolved but not the driving problem. I went back 7/25 to return them and received documentation for the credit. After two weeks when the credit didn't show up, I called and asked when they would send it in. I was told they had sent it in and to contact my credit card company. On 8/8 the credit card company set up a dispute because they said there wasn't a credit. On 8/29 I received the credit. So, 5/20-8/29, not a very good experience.

I recently went in to get new glasses at Alvernon Optical at the Tanque Verde location. The Dr was very nice, took the time to check my eyes. The office service not the greatest experience from the beginning with Maria. When I first got my glasses I was not able to see correctly. I went to the office to let them know, talk to Maria again and she kept saying that there was nothing wrong with the glasses, I asked to have the Dr recheck my eyes, which he did, then had my lenses re made, I was having the same problem, I was not able to see. Went in to the office again for the 3rd time to let them know I was still not seeing correctly, a very nice gentleman helped me to get the right measurements as I wear progressive lenses. 3 weeks passed by and heard nothing, I called the office and Maria answered the phone and said my lenses were not in to give her time to research, the next day got a call from Maria the office manager letting me know they had lost my lenses that she was going to refund back the money I paid for my glasses (I'm thankful for that) but when I went in, she was extremely rude, she made me feel that I was the problem, her comments showed no empathy to my situation. No one wants to be treated with disrespect making me feel like I'm a problem and that I'm wasting their time. My eyesight is very important to me and this business should have employees that show empathy and respect. I also choose to give you my trust and business you should be grateful for having customers. I will not do business there again and I do not recommend it!

I have been a loyal customer for 25 years at Alvernon Optical, have seen over 5 different optometrists in 25 years. I had an appointment on 10/18/23. I walked in the office 5 min late, and the receptionist Wendy told me that I was late, I should have been there 15 min before my appointment, because there is paperwork I had to fill out. I told her that I was not informed that I needed to be there 15 min prior to my appointment time and the reminder message left on my phone did not tell me that I needed to be there at 8:45am. I did apologize for my 5 min late due to traffic. But she insisted that I needed to reschedule for another day, I cannot be seen because the 9:30 customer will be arriving soon, and it's not enough time for me. Are you kidding me that this is how you treat a 25 year loyal customer? There were times that I have to sit and wait 5 min for the optometrist, because your office is running behind. It's ok that you made the customer wait when the optometrist runs late in the morning, but it's not ok for a customer to be 5 min late. I am very very disappointed about the service and attitude. I will be taking my entire family of 4 to another optometrist office from now on. Disappointed customer,Sally

Just to follow up. I did as the customer service email requested and sent in all my contact info. It's been over 3 weeks and haven't heard. Now I would not respond anyway. But it seems that the "we're very concerned about you" response is persiflage or smoke.
