Due to the current complaints filed, I will not go in depth, but it's unfortunate that actions of some faculty members have affected what this school could have been. One person in particular, needs to understand that just because you're married to the superintendent does not excuse the unprofessional behavior. She needs to be banned access to the ADS schools and hopefully this will change the environment and allow the school to change the way they're viewed.

I wish I could give this school a 5 star seeing as my son goes here. However this may be his last tear at this school and here is why: ADS is participating in the AZ Merit testing metric system and they are failing at it drastically and it is not at the fault of the teachers but the testing is extremely difficult to pass. When a teacher says that your child got a D on the exam and this was one of the highest grades then something is wrong! I am involved in my son's school and went and spoke with each teacher and there was a consensus is that all the students are failing- how can the school continue to allow their students to FAIL! I am an extremely concerned parent that feels that this school is allowing our children to fail and this could drastically effect their future! The school grounds are nice and the uniform is extremely formal with blazer and tie. However again the fall at organizing the physical education class around this. In the summer months when it was 100°+ outside they had pants and a long sleeve collar shirt they participated in. Then there was an incident that occurred at the school that involved the sheriff's presence that parents we're given very little information about. And the most recent situation that occurred was a fire /gas scent incident that forced an evacuation of the school. Which I'm glad they did and they informed the parents via email. What they failed to mention is that this evacuation occurred and our children were outside in the rain! They failed to let us know that our children were soak and wet in December on one of the coldest days! The only way parents knew was if the child chose to call to get clothes brought to them. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because I love the teachers! But they need to get organized and quick or we will be looking for another school.

Having a hard time starting this review... It is such a big disappointment to see how this school went from being highly recommended to I'm pulling my child out to another school.Various incidents happened 2015/2016 school year. No one has done anything about it to make it public. It is sad to see how students are treated. One thing is to show respect to the students and manners, and another thing is for the teachers to not follow school rules.My daughter's note book was thrown against the wall by a school employee while in the after school program only because she was drawing. My daughter had to stand outside in the sun for punishment of something some one else did to clog the bathroom.My son's kindergarten teacher had to resign literally weeks before end of school year and she was not allowed to say good bye the principal instructed her to leave and use the front door and was not allowed to talk to anyone about her resignation. My son's new teacher rips school papers in front of her students in a (bad manner) and throws it in the trash. A girl gets slapped in the face and her father shows up to the school to demand justice and the principal refused to speak to him about the issue. The principal is the worse one there, she literally left my husband standing in the front office because she didn't want to speak to him. We waited and waited for her to come out and she just would not show her face. What a shame!!!

Do better . Mr. McCarthy and Ms. Fischer at the Academy Del Sol on ROGER are both assholes who can't take criticism. Your front desk ladies shouldn't be underage rude girls who can't seem to get children up front for pick up within a reasonable time. They also will "anonymously" call DCS and file fake reports that include information of being a domestic violence survivor in the report and try to use that as an allegation. I only told the principle THOSE certain things and he used it in the false report lol . You're mandatory reporters for REAL ABUSE if it was "real" or "true" you wouldn't have to try to remain "anonymous". MS. Fischer who is the first grade teacher will try to instigate things from your child and assume "things are going on at home" just because she/they gossip about every parent. Just shows how low THAT schools "educators" will go .They try to use your lows and use them against you.

This school doesn't deserve the 1 star that I'm giving... This school started out "promising " compared the TUSD schools on the southwest side but things quickly changed. Multiple teachers leaving, very poor leadership from the principal and her team of minions. Stay away from this school, they do not have the best interests in mind for the students, only for themselves, watch out if you ever question them on their so called "policies".
