This place is horrible -- avoid them at all costs. They WILL find a way to rip you off, no matter what you problem is. And they'll sweet talk you at first. It seems like they have a specific older gentleman employeed there to do just that. He's very nice at first. But he swiftly changes tune when you start getting savvy to the games. We brought our pickup in because it was making a bit of a strange noise. They assured us that we needed to have the transmission checked. We don't know anything about cars, so ignorantly, we let them do this. They pulled the entire thing out, and what do you know? Duh, the transmission needed to be rebuilt! Well, at that point, you can't really go and get a second opinion, because they're going to charge you $1,000 to put the transmission back in, and then the entire fee over again if you choose them anyway to do the work. They've got you by the you know what. So, we let them do it. $4500+ later, we bring our truck home. And you know what? The same exact problem is happening! Are you kidding me? We brought it back, and they said nope, it's fine. The following week, we had the issue again, and brought it back again. This time, they same it was some small $100 part that they'd cover in the warranty. Ok, cool. We got the truck back the next day......and the next day the same issue occurred. We went back to Aastro. Now the gentleman who started nice towards us is nothing but rude and crude. And now he said it was a DIFFERENT $100 part, but this one isn't covered. Well, why the hell not? They misdiagnosed the issue from the start, rebuilt the transmission unnecessarily, and after four tries, finally get the right part, and make me pay the $100 after all that? They are thieves and grifters, liars and schemers. Stay away.Oh, and they bribe you with coupons and money for some of their cheap services if you prove you've written a positive review for them on various social media. So if you read a positive review, read it with a grain of salt. It's likely to be fake.Just seriously stay away from Aastro.

We needed the AC repaired on our car and Aastro was able to get us in same day! Unfortunately they'd found out the system had "Black Death" and the whole thing needed replaced! At first looking at a hefty price tag on repairs they offered multiple discounts to cut costs where they could! Luckily we ended up having an extended warranty in the glove box that they looked into and got the entire cost covered with just a $100 deductible. Period!. After that they had the whole thing done in little over a day. However a piece that they'd ordered had come faulty, and to make things easier for us Gloria came and picked up my car HALF AN HOUR away and had it replaced while I was AT WORK and brought the car back before I was ready to head home for the day! I've never had service like this! Thanks so much to Gloria, Isabel and Ray and all the staff at Aastro transmission on Broadway! Thank you x10!

Great service, thorough work, courier was excellent and super friendly, and getting the job done right was best part. Car was running rough and also was going all over the road especially when hitting 45 mph or more. Already was about ready for oil change so had that done as well. it was late in week and thought it might be late to get car in quickly but took car in next day. Also was worried about courier service far out near Colossal Cave area but they did so! Turned out the Pack Rats had done a lot of damage including Spark Plugs, Wires, and Fuel Filter. Also the debris the Rats left had to be cleaned. Also installed deterrent and put stuff around wires to help protect. Cleaned and Flushed and Decarbonized Fuel Injection. Replaced Ignition Coil Assembly. The wheel bearing and hub assembly at rear that fixed the problem of car going all over the place. Also Hood Lift Shocks that had not worked for at least 5 years were replaced and now can open it without weight lifting! Was not cheap but had to be done and now car runs and moves great. Glad I had I took the car in before it broke down somewhere in middle of nowhere.

After reading the reviews here I have to wonder if they were going to the same place I've been taking my cars to for the last three years. Aastros on Broadway is the only place in Tucson I'd trust my cars to as I've never had a bad experience with them in all the times they have worked on both my vehicles. Their quotes are, usually, right on target and they are great at communicating what needs to be done, why, and giving you the option of opting out of some work. They stand by their work and will make things right should there be any kind of issue with the repair once the work is done. (Although it's only happened to me once and George and Gloria went out of their way to get it fixed in the timeline I needed.)My family drives cross country, at least, once a year going from AZ to southern FL and back again and this has put a fair amount of wear and tear on my 13 year old minivan, resulting in the need for repairs from time to time. What I really like and respect about Aastros is that once something is fixed, it stays fixed. I've never found myself in a situation where I had to have a repair done twice because of cheap and shoddy parts or poor installation and I really appreciate that because quality counts for a lot.Which brings us to parts costs. Aastros isn't going to put the cheapest parts in can find in your vehicle. (And, really, why would you want to?) There has been a few times when I've googled a part that came in cheaper than what was quoted and brought it to George's attention. Every time George was willing to work with me, make a compromise, or discuss with me why the more expensive part was the better buy in the long run. As I said, my minivan travels cross country and I don't want to end up in the middle of nowhere with a broken down van because I was feeling cheap. I'll pay a little more for the knowledge that my car won't quit on me or that I can keep my car going for as long as I need it to.Their customer service is great too. I've always gotten a phone call back when I've left a message or received a call when they said they would call or have helped get me a ride back home. All of which is greatly appreciated.Aastros is going to be the bar by which I judge other repair shops by just because they have treated me so well.

I took my 96 Silverado In 8 months ago to get my transmission rebuilt. So far my truck has been running amazing no more hard shifting and I have 3rd and 4th gear again. Adam was fantastic! I was dead in the water and needed my truck fixed so he allowed me to do a down payment so they could start the process and then this place allowed me to go do weekly payments until my debt was paid off. This place was the only shop that was willing to help me out and I will forever be grateful. Thank you Astro transmission! Hoping to take my 71' Chevy for a rebuild soon.

Very unprofessional as they will find a way to overcharge and make up costs without giving details. Poor communication as they're brilliant to give you the runaround. Regardless of the cost from their diagnosis and the towing charge to go some where else, I'm so content I went to a more customer service oriented place to get it done right and be completely satisfied.

Charged $270 diagnostic test fee on a 40 year old vehicle! What they plug into to get the results out of I've no idea?! and they couldn't tell me either!!!! Charged another $80 for a part they 'had to order' but when I asked asked to see what the removed they said 'sorry we didn't keep it'!? Why?! Plus Labor $$$ the final total, just to replace a link in a gear shift, 'if' it was even replaced, was way way too much! AVOID THIS PLACE, DO NOT TRUST THEM! SCAMMERS!!!!!!!

My elderly mother has a 2000 Ford Taurus. The check engine light came on and the air conditioning started blowing not cold. I was recommended to Aastro by someone. They claimed multiple problems and asked for over $ $4000.00 for repairs. The car was purchased for $2000.00. After balking at the price, the manager told my mom he could do the job for app. $3000.00. The men in the office were also aggressive with my mom and niece with attitude! The repairs needed for air conditioning recharge and ignition coils can be done for way cheaper. I picked up the car for my mom, and had to pay $180.00 for nothing . I am not happy the way we were treated and I'm sure after this review some " justified " response will be posted by management, but it was WRONG. I will tell whomever I can about this unfortunate situation.

August 2020- Brought my 2010 Chevy Traverse in to AASTRO Transmission and Auto Repair ( East Broadway and Old Spanish Trail) to have the complete check out inspection of my vehicle, prior to going on future road trips. Also, to have them adjust the plate underneath the front widshield, since it was out of adjustment.Everything was checked out to my satisfaction, or corrected. I have been bringing all my vehicles to AASTRO for many years. I have found them to be very professional, friendly and fair. Always a Great Experience at AASTRO. My Go To Shop for Automotive Repair on the Far East Side of Tucson.
