This restaurant embodies the heart and soul of Ukrainian Village- the food and atmosphere both deliver bold, refined sensations while also paying homage to Ukrainian history and tradition. The service is expeditious and genial. We ordered a menagerie of different dishes- a Varenyky (Pierogi) party platter, Chicken Kyiv, and Goulash. They all tasted unique and superb. The Varenyky were definitely the fan favorite, I got to try very interesting combination of new flavors. I'm no expert on authentic Ukrainian food so I can't speak on its authenticity but the flavors were all delectable.

Tried this place for lunch after Liturgy. Interesting interior decor and nice wait staff. They were still with the brunch menu, so I can only speak on that. The vereniky were pretty good, but not as good as you could get elsewhere in Ukrainian Village. The potato pancakes were good, as were the beer selection (many from Ukraine) and mushroom soup.

Got recommended by one of my Ukrainian friend and it didn't disappoint. The borscht was amazing, if was the first time I've ever tried something like that. Overall, one thing I've noticed was the flavors of the food are very mild for my Asian tastebuds. Not sure if this is how Ukrainian food is supposed to taste like. The ambience was intimate, also had lots of Ukraine-related decorations. The only drawback would be the service, it was a little slow since there were only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant.

Great experience here! Made a reservation online. They offered a ton of traditional Ukrainian dishes, some with a modern twist. We ordered an assortment and shared them.Potato Pancakes 5/5 - super crisp and delicious sauceBorscht- 5/5 not my fav soup but my Ukrainian husband said it was on point Fried dough (idr the name) 5/5 flaky and delicious filling, good sauceChicken Kiev - 4/5 very tasty, just smaller portion than anticipated Mixed party platter - 3/5 some better than others but all very unique! None bad and a cool concept, just enjoy the original better.Service was great. Lots of alcohol options and good vibes/decor inside.

This place is so charming! We wanted to eat from their main menu but wasn't aware that brunch is from open till 2pm. Nonetheless, the food was amazing! The borshe with pork it's so homey rich and warm perfect portion to split (and only $8). But the surprising show stopper was actually the infused spirits. I'm sure the cocktails are great but the shots alone are delicious. They are so smooth and so rich. I could legit drink a bottle.

Very unique design with a personal touch makes you come back to discover more details. But we love this place not only for the atmosphere but great food and house infused vodka (clever flavor which you can pair to the food). Everything on the menu is good - our personal favorites are assorted pierogi, salo, cherry varennyki and honey cake!. The service is fast and staff is very friendly.

This is a cute spot, great for both large group parties and more intimate meals. The interior is spacious and intricately decorated-- a lot of patriotic Ukranian decorations. The prices on the menu correspond to important years in Ukranian history, which are all written out along the menu edges. I ordered the Green Sauerkraut Varenyky, which I really enjoyed! It was my first time trying varenyky, but I could tell it was very fresh-- the dough is springy and hand-made, and the texture is soft and creamy. The filling was flavorful and delicious. However, the portions felt small for most of the dishes-- especially for the price. -- Price (relative to peers): 4/5Food: 4.5/5Ambience: 4.5/5Service: 4/5Overall Value: 4/5

Such a cozy spot for meeting up with friends - the interior feels like you're in someone's living room with lots of cool Ukrainian decor, and lots of people around you speaking Russian and Ukrainian too! The cocktails were delicious - the gypsy fortune teller was super tasty as was the mezcal cocktail. A got the Uzvar which was a delicious smoky non-alcoholic drink. There's a lot of house infused spirits to choose from, and the party wheel looked like a lot of fun at other tables (basically a ferris wheel of shots). The food was also quite tasty - we got Salo (basically thin sliced pork fat with bread, mustard, and onions) and the rainbow party platter of pierogi. The party platter was fun to share and most of the flavors were pretty good - I'm not a big fan of ground beef, but I really liked the vegetarian options! For entrees, we shared the beef goulash (which was just okay for me - the beef was a bit dry) and banosh (basically fried polenta balls - super tasty). Dessert was probably a highlight - their honey cake was lovely with lots of cinnamon, and the sour cherry varenyky were phenomenal. Service is probably the main area for improvement - we barely saw our waitress and it was a bit hard to get the attention of someone when we were trying to order. Overall, definitely worth a repeat visit!

When I first walked into the restaurant I swore I had walked into a time portal to Ukraine. Most of the guests and servers were speaking in their local language, which I thought was super cool and even more authentic! I ended up sitting at the bar because it was only me and the server there (I think Kyle was his name) was very cool, attentive, and great with the recommendations. He even recommended some Chi town spots for me to check out on my visit. The ambiance was very casual and the restaurant wasn't super busy while I was there. I ordered the chicken Kyiv and the mushroom soup, both of which were good. I actually liked the soup better than the Kyiv. I was turned off by how the butter practicality came on me when I cut the chicken open perhaps this is the surprise of the chicken Kyiv. The soup was hearty and filling. The chicken was nice, but I wouldn't say anything special. However, I would recommend it for someone who has never had the dish as an introduction to Ukrainian food. I would definitely visit again to try their brunch when I'm in the chi next time.

I went here with a friend and really enjoyed trying this place for the first time. We loved the crispy polenta balls with mushroom sauce and also enjoyed the crispy potato pancakes. The stuffed cabbage rolls had a yummy sauce. The decor and space is also super cute, I love the way they decorated this place, including the colorful tape on the door.
