Amazing location to get your Mediterranean food fixed!PROs: there are plenty of cozy seating options in this restaurant. There are always plenty of staff members so you never have to wait very long for your drinks or food. The staff is always very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable on the menu items. The decor is very cool and you can find something new every time you come in here. the prices are affordable and the portions are good as well. The restaurant is always clean in. The bathrooms are as well. We've been here multiple times and every item on the menu that we have had it's been outstanding.CONs: parking can be a little challenging at times, but that isn't the restaurant fault.

Troy's Greek Restaurant is without a doubt serving the very finest Greek food in the city of San Diego! Being a regular I post a review every so often with photos taken just before the scrumptious meal is enjoyed and devoured! I had the Gyros and 1/4 Lemon Chicken on Saturday evening, March 16, 2024. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned and by the way, I recently discovered the green beans with tomato which is loaded with garlic and absolutely delicious! It's total perfection in a side dish. Of course the Greek salad, (not photographed on March 16th) gyros meat and pita bread, broasted chicken, rice and green beans as noted above we're all outstanding and prepared perfectly. My regular waiter Ricardo, provides impeccable service and makes sure everything is absolutely the way I want it. There's no room for anything less than perfect! The regular general manager at Troy's Victor, is a good guy and on this visit met the actual owner Manny, who like me is originally from Chicago. He really knows good food! He's also a super nice guy. We had a really nice discussion covering Chicago cuisine, Chicago personality and broadcaster Jerry G. Bishop, who later came out west to San Diego and The Beatles as well, with Manny mentioning that Jerry actually interviewed The Fab Four way back when. It was a great discussion as Manny and his family were sitting in the booth next to me. I happened to have been wearing one of my "Chicago" T-shirts that night. Manny was gracious and kind. Super nice guy! I wholeheartedly recommend Troy's Greek Restaurant in San Diego's Allied Gardens/Del Cerro area as the first and last word on Greek food in San Diego. Without a doubt the finest Greek food in the city. Bon appetit!

Portion sizes are huge here so come hungry. We got the lunch specials, which have a salad and wrap or meat choice. Definitely a local spot and there's lots of room inside so you can bring your friends for a catch-up session. I like that it's local! Could use an update in the place, service was a tad slow, but at least they served you happily. Chicken was grilled well and food was warm. The pita was definitely soft and plush. The Greek lemon chicken soup was pretty good - has a lot more on the rice and then I used to, but it was tasty, Hardy and hit the spot. Definitely would come here for a quick big bite. Decent parking in the lot. Appears to be busier at lunch.

Absolutely no. No no no no no. Hands down worst "Greek" food I've ever had. My husbands grandmother is living in a senior care facility and complains about how bad the food is so we went and dined with her - she was right it was bad. The food here at Troy's reminded me of that...The "tzatziki" sauce was disgusting. It was not tzatziki at all and the taste that it did have was very freezer burn like. I don't know what they're doing here but it's not hard at all to make tzatziki...Everything was so bland, under seasoned, dry and over cooked. Except the carrots were undercooked lol.I got a chicken entree and they don't even remove the chicken breast from the bone.The gyro meat on my husbands plate was so freakin dry.The place gave me vibes of a once popular restaurant that never updated or changed ANYthing and got lazy with time letting quality slide more and more.I cannot stress how bad this meal was...I personally would never go back.

We saw this location after spending a great deal of time at a nearby hospital snd always wanted to try it. Glad we did. It's in a strip mall sandwich among many restaurants.Reading other Yelp reviews I was a little hesitant thinking it was more of a breakfast/ lunch place. But dinner was yummy!Not overly crowded we had great service. Beautiful pics of Greece abound. No trouble hearing each other.Lemon soup was very lemony. Salad with the meals was fresh. I had the moussaka which was amazing. Mashed potatoes on top were like a whipped slice of heaven. Eggplant, meat and layers were not too overpowering, pita was yummy and serving size was generous. Gyro special was good.Baklava cheesecake was a really nice way to finish the meal. Honey makes a nice compliment to the cheese. Pastry is an interesting addition. We all said, that's nice! A little light on the nuts for this nut-a-holic. Good different nice! Ps check them out on Facebook and get a coupon. We had one for $10 off

Food used to be good here but not anymore. Got Uber eats compliments of my wonderful coworker. Gyros were on salty side. Chicken was undercooked and rice was really weird and inedible. Felt bad I talked my coworker into ordering from here instead of different place she liked. Sadly, won't be ordering from here again

The place was nice and clean and the woman at the register was very helpful and friendly. The waitress seemed a bit busy but again the hostess/register woman was very welcoming. When it came to the food I was not that impressed. The rice had very little flavor and the meat was a little dry. The chicken was still red inside and didn't have much of a lemon flavor. The steamed carrots were really good and the salad dressing was good. However the tzatziki sauce tasted like sour cream so I was not impressed with that. Not sure we will be trying this place again. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best

The food was good. I had the lemon chicken and spanicopida. It was good but very little meat on the chicken leg . I thought there would be more chicken . At least one more piece. The other things on the plate were small also. But it was the end of the night for them. The waiter was polite ant nice but the waitress was a little rude and tried I guess. Not a nice greeting she threw the menus on our table. She must have been ready to go home . Maybe a long day for her.

Troy's is a solid bet if you like Greek Diners! It has probably the best spanakopita I've ever had, and yes, I've been to Greece! Service is friendly and the portions are generous. Avgolemono soup was a nice starter. I opted for the 1/4 chicken with Spanakopita and I subbed out the rice for a Greek salad (small upcharge). Pita bread had a nice crisp edge to it, which I really like. Tzatziki was fresh and just the right harmony of garlic, yogurt, dill and cucumber. Chun P. and I went on a Saturday and did not realize that they feature a live belly dancer! Mimi definitely has moves, but belly dancing just really isn't my thing so I'll be back on a weeknight.
