We wanted to try a good Italian, and this came recommended by locals. We went in on a Sunday evening, there is limited parking and the restaurant is crowded, luckily we got a table right away. Earlier, when we called for reservation, we were told they don't make reservations over the phone only in person and 30 to 45 mins wait time.Ambiance was very cozy, I think that was one reason for the crowd. Also it is a small restaurant in a strip. We orderedTortini di MelenzaneIt was ok, nothing wanting more.GNOCCHI SorentoGNOCCHI was very good, but their marnara sauce is not good. That spoiled all the dishes that used the marinara sauce.RIGATONI ZII TERESAThis was the best dish out of all. They did not have pine nuts, as mentioned in their menu, and artichoke were sparse, and mushrooms were mot bringing any flavor. Pesto sauce and the cream were the savior there.Penne BoscoSame problem as other marinara dishes and wasi a tad more cooking needed for the pasta. Our RIGATONI was cooked perfectly, though.Coppa ProfiterolUnderwhelming.Overall disappointed and as far as service we can clearly see short staffed our server had too many tables to take care of.

We were so sorry to hear not only about the tragic fire, but also that Lorenzo is not part of Tropea anymore. I wish that Tropea had changed it's name once they reopened. It's definitely not the same. The quality of the cuisine is not up to the same standards,. The tomatoes from our Caprese Salad and Bruschetta were waxy and tasteless. The Vermicelli pasta was overcooked and mushy. The Blackout Torte was missing it's sweetness. Pre vs post location prices went up about 25 %. We wish Lorenzo well in his retirement

Beautiful and stylish but homey, authentic interior. Lovely table Settings. The garlic dipping oil with the complimentary starter bread is delicious.Tried the Gnocchi Sorrento ($18.95), Prosciutto E Melone ($15.95), Involtino Di Melanzane ($15.95).I don't think the pastas are homemade but everything has plenty of cheese and is definitely delicious.Staff is very warm and friendly :)

We love, love, love this place! So sad when it was a victim of arson but so happy it's back!!!! From the time you walk in the door it's like a little slice of Italy. The service was amazing, our food was excellent is it possible it's better than before ? Highly recommend this place. Plan to make a reservation or call ahead just in case. It's busy for a reason. Parking at the new local could be challenging, but there is plenty of street parking for backup.Give them a try.

We loved Tropea before they had the fire and were anticipating the reopening for months now. We were so excited when we entered the restaurant, it has the same cozy, little bit dark, romantic vibe. They don't take reservations anymore, so be prepared for a wait, this gem will have all their fans coming back now. We loved that they kept the bread and garlic dip, so good and we also loved our dinners. We had lasagna and linguine and both were as great as we remembered. They do have some outdoor seating for summer, so I'm excited to sit outside next year. They also have a side room that can be rented for groups, I wasn't able to see much, so I'm not sure of the size, but it's a great new option to take larger groups for dinner. Service was a bit hectic, but not surprised given the full restaurant. We had to ask for refills and parmesan cheese, which should be a part of any Italian dinner. I think with time, everyone will ease in, I'm not worried. Parking can definitely be difficult when the place is full, we arrived earlier and already had issues finding a spot. I can only imagine that dinner after 6, will present a parking problem in the little strip mall.

Glad for Tropea to be back!Family enjoyed our Italian dinner at the reopened restaurant. Just a few blocks away from the old location which was damaged by a fire a couple of years back. The unlit sign is hard to see but the patio is well-lit.Not as cramped as the original location, great ambiance, same attentive service.Starting with the selection of wines, table service included sourdough bread with the delightful chopped garlic in olive oil to whet our appetites. We went straight to our main pasta courses, a mix of our favorite gnocchi, ravioli, and linguine (see pics). The taste was familiar, fresh ingredients, pasta nicely done with that bit of chewiness... yum!We noticed there were patio tables as well for the nicer days. This was a good celebration of the long-awaited return of a local favorite.

Was really sad when the original place burned down. Was happy to see when they reopen. The new location tried it out today and it was great. I walked in when they opened and there were already 4 large groups. There were about three servers, one hostess, and the rest were Cook staff. I ordered Manicott with Italian sausage and it was really good.

Nice understated elegant ambience. Great for good conversation, although I was by myself on a spur of the moment whim. I was craving something not on the menu .. a homemade spaghetti olio de olivo with capers and peppercini, and voila the server not only instantly understood what I was requested but was able to communicate with and get the chef to produce exactly what the tongue desired. It was mouth wateringly delicious. Which I happily downed with a nice Italian red wine.Highly recommend

It was quite busy on a Tuesday night. This is my first time here, and I have to say very good experience. I don't worry about Italian food, but this restaurant reminds me of Italian restaurants I went to growing up. The service was fast and the food was brought out hot. Bread and olive oil with fresh garlic and herbs were brought to the table first. I had the lobster ravioli, and the special salad (split), both excellent. We received a classic Andes mint with our bill. I would say that my only piece of feedback would be to have more vegetable dishes available, but maybe this is not the Italian way.Overall great experience. You can tell it's a good place by the amount of people that were there tonight. If I'm craving Italian food again, I'll know where to go.
