Ever since this place was recommended to me by a fellow coworker, I've made it a mission to dine here when I flew into Chicago! The interior had such a cozy and dim-lighted ambience that it felt like entering a different world after spending all day in the West Loop area. Even the pathway leading to the entrance with the cobblestone flooring and fairy lights set up such a romantic atmosphere.I had originally reserved it for myself only but two coworkers ended up tagging along last minute and they wait staff was so accommodating to seat us. The waitress who had seated us was so kind and we ended up striking a conversation because she complimented my tattoo. Shame I wasn't able to get her name but she was so sweet! The service from when we seated to finished was phenomenal - we were always checked in on, were reminded of the dinner specials and immediately asked for any dietary restrictions the wait staff should be made aware of. After ordering our drinks, we were given water and our orders very momentarily. As a west coast gal, the chicken pot pie my coworker had ordered was knocked out of the ballpark! There is a certain midwestern magic added in that just can't be replicated otherwise. Me and my other coworker had ordered the vodka rigatoni and the texture of the cream and the pasta was cooked to perfection, I still think about it weeks after. All three of us finished our meal completely despite being full at the end! A great taste of midwestern comfort food: both traditional and modernized dishes! From the amazing service, warm ambience and delicious food, you cannot go wrong with spending a date night here or unwinding by yourself. Will definitely make another visit when I fly into Chicago again!

I live close by and have dropped in multiple times. You can have a meal inside the main dining room and feel like you're in a mafia movie. You can dine on the patio and feel like you're in Europe. You can grab a seat at the bar in the lobster bar and have a casual bite.So versatile.Get the ceaser salad with smoked salmon. Do it. As a matter of fact also make sure you get the mushrooms side. Sounds odd but these two are my fav things on the menu. The Mac and cheese is great. All of the pastas are great. Get the rolls, why not.Save room for dessert cause the sticky date cake is amazing and massive. The frozen drinks are both fantastic.

As a big fan of hog salt restaurants, I had really high hopes for Trivoli Tavern going in. However, it missed the mark. TLDR: I don't see myself ever craving any of the dishes we ordered tonight, much to my surprise and disappointment! The ambience is soo cute so I probably will be back for that reason itself, but with lesser expectations on the dining experience sadly I'll start by saying we had kind and attentive servers all night, so that was not the issue at all. The atmosphere was lovely as well so this review is heavily driven by my thoughts on the foodWe started with the Parker rolls and whitefish dip. The rolls were some of the most soft and fluffy i have encountered lol and though the truffle butter was good, it just wasn't anything truly remarkable. The white fish dip was on the salty side. For entrees, I had heard such good things about the vodka rigatoni but found myself preferring the 'Hailey Bieber' pasta I can make at home. The chicken pot pie was pretty tasty, so I'm not sure if it was just because I was getting full from everything else, but I thought it wasn't as good as the ones I'd had at armitage alehouse before. I did really want to try the desserts but was too full by the end of the meal, so I will be back to try those! Vibes? Immaculate. Culinary Expectations? Unmet.

Where do I begin with my new favorite restaurant in Chicago? I want to find more excuses to eat here. The moody, warmly-lit, classy vibe of this place, from the music to decor makes me wish I had a room like this at home. The chicken pot pie is by far the best pot pie I have ever had in my entire life. The burger is definitely on par with the other hogsalt restaurants which have the best burger I have ever tried. The fries are also great, served with an amazing aioli to dip in. Ordering a side of sautéed mushrooms are a great add-on. They have so much flavor. I had the opportunity to try the chocolate date came which was SUPER decadent and sweet, but so delicious.I have yet to eat something here I don't like. I want to keep finding excuses to come here.

This is one of my family's favorite place to enjoy dinner. Make a reservation when you can. Also, service is always phenomenal here; a great cozy environment transporting you to the Prohibition era. Will go here again and again. Oh, the food? 10/10. We recommend:- artichoke gratin- cornbread- Parker rolls- truffle bucatini- coal roasted chicken- 16 oz ribeye- 10 oz filet mignon- double cheeseburger Wagyu (ask for it cut in half to share with someone else, my husband & I always share so we can order different entrees)- dessert: sticky date cake... WOW

Super cute vibes in the restaurant and the outdoor space! All the food was to die for. We absolutely loved the vodka rigatoni, I swear it's better than carbone. The steak frites were so fatty and juicy, and cooked to perfection. The salmon was super rich, flaky and not overdone. And the mushroom casserole is a MUST! Wednesdays are half off bottles of wine which was a very happy surprise for us. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Sat outdoors, it was a gorgeous day but the table and chairs were not stable in the sense they were falling in the cracks of the grout on the brick which was slightly difficult to not focus on.Staff was great and it really is a gorgeous outdoor space. I'd love to eat inside sometime.I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was fantastic! So much flavor and it was the best thing I've eaten in a while. It is a bit pricey but it's a decent sized portion, I was still a bit hungry after but overall full.

First of all, I love that they do their reservations on Resy because I was able to set an alert for when a new reservation opened up and was able to get in two days in advance which we were not expecting! Trivoli is in such a cute little cobblestone alley; it doesn't feel like you are in West Loop. We also went to celebrate an anniversary and they gave us free champagne to start the meal!!As for the food, we started with the pigs in a blanket, house salad, and vodka rigatoni. I thought that the pigs were just average and the mustard sauce was also nothing special. I really enjoyed the house salad and the fact that it had olives and salami instead of your basic house. The vodka rigatoni definitely lived up to the hype. It was a fairly big portion, a cute shaped noodle, and a FANTASTIC sauce with just the right amount of spice. We followed that up with the burger, the coal roasted chicken, and the side of mushrooms. The chicken was a little hard to eat since it had bones and the peppers were a little too spicy. The bbq sauce itself tasted pretty good, but with all the other incredible dishes, we didn't even finish the chicken. The burger and the mushrooms were both absolutely amazing. They kindly cut the burger into four pieces since we were doing family style and everyone wished they got more than their little quarter. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had. And I would say the same about the mushrooms. One of the best mushroom dishes I have ever had; I was so creamy and flavorful!Even though we were so full we couldn't finish our meal, we still made room to finish a piece of sticky date cake. Same dish that Armitage Alehouse has and still so so good!

another amazing dinner at trivoli tavern!! we split the artichoke gratin to start and it was good but not the star of the show. i wish there was more tanginess and more artichokes, but the garlic bread was crispy and perfect and the goat cheese was delicious. we got the house salad and the vodka rigatoni which were both obviously amazing. the house salad was so light and refreshing & cheesy. i don't even have to say anything about the vodka rigatoni. she speaks for herself (and sm others have spoken of her in other reviews that i don't even need to go into it). you just have to try it. for dessert we got the sticky toffee date cake - UGH! just please get it. it's so good. as always the vibes were immaculate and just so warm and comforting - even though we came for an early 5pm dinner during the summer, you still get that cozy feeling inside that i find kind of magical. our server was such a king and was very helpful with suggestions as my mom is vegetarian. he even suggested we half the order of the house salad since it's typically for sharing between 3-4 people which i rly appreciated! will be back (hopefully) soon!
