I live down in Phoenix, but this sushi spot in Anthem is well worth the drive. They have All You Can Eat Sushi & they have a number of great deals including Happy Hour plus kids under 10 eat for free on Sundays. This location has the AYCE at $20 for lunch and $30 for dinner, depending on how much you are able to eat this is an awesome deal. If you are going specifically for the AYCE sushi it is only served at the sushi bar, or you can relax at a regular table/booth to enjoy the full menu.My husband & I recently visited Trappers Sushi & we were quite pleased with not only the food selection we choose but also the drinks and the customer service.Food - We did the AYCE during the dinner hours. The only issue we had was deciding what we wanted to order because there were so many delicious rolls on the menu. I liked the selection of rolls they offered & I loved that it clearly stated what was in each roll. I've been to spots in the past that only have the name of the roll but not what was in it & as someone who can be slightly picky with sushi it is nice knowing what I am ordering. My husband & I each tried three different rolls plus we got an order of pot stickers & an order of trapper bites. All of the rolls we picked out were delicious & filling, you will be served a large portion, and everything is freshly made right there at the sushi bar. This is the first sushi place I've been to that has scallops on or in the sushi and man, I've been missing out!Drinks - I had ordered the white peach lemonade; it tasted like peach rings in a cup, and I loved it. My husband had ordered a blueberry alcoholic beverage that he enjoyed & when he went to order a second drink, he had asked for our server's recommendation & was very happy he did. The server recommended a drink called the Sea Monster Mai Tai. I am normally not a fan of alcoholic drinks, but I tried a sip and wow it was so good & one I would actually drink.Customer Service - All of the staff we encountered were friendly, talkative & attentive when it came to getting our orders, taking away empty plates. They also have a program where they sell raffle tickets for $5, all the proceeds go to a cancer research group called Valley Girls & Guys. Later in the year they will draw raffle tickets and the winners could win one of an assortment of prizes. We look forward to coming back to this location & if you are a fan of sushi, I highly recommend stopping to check them out.

We have eaten here twice both times the place was empty, service was good. Food was good. Went there last night (8/5/24) around 6:30pm. They had some customers but not packed. We were greeted and sat timely. We were told a server would be with us shortly. 10 minutes go by with servers walking past us every couple of mins. 20 minutes go by, still no waters, no server. 3 servers continuously walked past us but said nothing and didn't even look at us. At the 25 minute mark of sitting with no service we looked around and saw all servers chit chatting up by the sushi bar and we decided we were not going to be served and walked out. The girl who sat us 25 mins prior saw us walking out and wished us a great night without realizing we hadn't been helped. Went up the road to Echo Sushi, had our drinks immediately and food within 10-15 mins of being sat. We tried. Most likely will just skip the headache and go to Echo Sushi next time.

We've eaten here twice recently. We had great experiences with the food and service both times. I would recommend them based on that. The only negative for me is the billing/payment process. You get the bill on a machine and you don't see an itemized bill. First time I paid cash, second time I paid with a card. They take your payment then you choose the tip. I try to be a generous tipper. I chose 25% but immediately thought the amount didn't look correct. But it's so awkward with the server standing over you. So I just went with it and got my receipt texted to me. Upon looking at the receipt it looked like some things rang up higher than priced on the menu. But the thing that really confused me was the tip. Our bill was $142.94 and tax was $9.04. Having been a server for years I was always taught tip was on the pretaxed amount. Regardless 25% pretaxed is $35.73 and with tax is $37.99. So I'm not sure where they got $45.41. All those little things added up made our bill about $17 higher than I thought it should be. I would go back here but will stick to paying cash to avoid the machine. Again, food and service was great. I'm glad to have this option in the neighborhood.

For a fast-food style sushi place, Trapper's Sushi in Anthem is fine. The staff were friendly (and young) and the sushi seemed fresh. While the quality is much like what you get at Safeway, go expecting a nice array of Sushi at reasonable prices.

Updated: They recently started charging for carbonated water (nickel and dime) and don't show you an itemized bill before you pay, they just tell you a total and give you the device to tap to pay. This is tricky and they should disclose the full bill before asking for payment.

We are back to loving this place! Food was at our table quickly and was delish, try the Bayou Bliss!! Bartender was fantastic, fun, engaging and made great drinks served fast. Extra points for the friendly service and bringing a smile to the kiddo's face. They've made a comeback from a rough couple months but we love this place once again!!!
