Toyama is probably my favorite restaurant in Everett because of the amazing food and exceptional customer service! I've been here quite a few times and have never been let down by them, ever.As you can tell from my pictures, I've tried a lot of their menu and honestly, there's nothing I wouldn't recommend. The rolls are creative and delicious, sashimi is thick and fish is fresh, and it's reasonably priced. They have great deals during lunch (11-2 I think) so it's more budget friendly, if you want to have a big lunch. Most of their combos come with salad and miso soup, and are around $15. Although the lunch menu is limited, they do also offer the dinner menu all day so you can have more options.Of course I will be back soon and I recommend everyone come here, if you're near the area!

I have been visiting Toyama over the years and have loved their food and ambience, but my latest visit was less than desirable. What was once a busy, warm and inviting restaurant has now become almost vacant with very little customers and less than stellar customer service.Where do I begin? When we first entered the restaurant, the first thing that stood out is the lack of heat. They literally had space heaters strategically placed in various parts of the dining area on one of the coldest days of the year. We were really hungry and put up with the cold temperature long enough to quickly eat and get back out to our warm car. The girl who was working that evening was not pleasant and did the bare minimum to take our order and bring the food to the table. It was clear that she was not enjoying her job and didn't make us feel welcomed. My food was ok. My partner's food was overly greasy and the leftovers were not taken home. Long story short, I probably will not return again for some time (probably Summer when it's warmer) and hope that things improve.

What a delicious find north of Seattle..a quiet quaint little sushi bar with a friendly sushi chef I believe his name is John and a very sweet kind waitress running the show. My only critique is it was a little chilly and some of the seating while private, is not the most comfortable. The booths are like subway sandwich style booth seating. Overall, not a deal breaker. It's nice they stay open all day with a big parking area in the hobby lobby strip mall parking area. Ok on to the food: THE FRESHEST sushi ever!! Being my first time here I worry about sushi not being fresh. Even a hint would turn me off...not here! Trust me it's FRESH!The ala carte nigiri sushi selection was above average they have the typical favorites. The menu didn't list toro but the nice sushi chef served it upon my request. SCORE! I was very impressed they had uni and it was sooo fresh. The scallops were huge and melt in your mouth good. The salmon and toro were equally divine. If you're a connoisseur and looking for bluefin tuna, monkfish liver, geoduck etc go to Nakagawa in Bothell/Canyon Park. They may not have everything under the sun here but for being huge and fresh and at a fair price I give it an A plus here for sushi. The shrimp/veggie tempura and ponzu dip were perfect -- it was piping hot and perfectly battered. It came with two shrimps, three pieces of yams, a green bean, zucchini, onion ring, and broccoli. For $9.99, I will definitely get this again! We both agreed hands down they make THE BEST tempura here! Delightful! My hubby really enjoyed the broiled hamachi or yellow tail collar. It was a bit over cooked in my opinion but it was still delicious and fun to nibble on.The two salmon skin rolls were delicious but personally I am such a purist I could do without the sweet brown sauce drizzled on top. $8.99 a roll. The icing on the cake was the sweet shrimp boat for I think $15 for a pair. See pic. It's so beautiful to look at. The shrimp head was sooo fun to eat especially the light crunch of the tentacles. The rest is just a pillowy delight of shrimp, rice, fish eggs and quail egg. I highly recommend everyone to try this! Worth every penny. Can't wait to try their non sushi dishes. The udon bowls and Korean fried chicken looked amazing. Impressed they serve classic bi bim bap and other Korean dishes. There's definitely something for everyone here can't wait to return again soon!

As you might've seen in my earlier reviews of Toyama Sushi, we used to really love this place. Good food, good customer service...all you can eat sushi! Well, things have changed, for the worst. It had been several years since we've eaten here and because it was always good in our past experiences we decided to go there for a special occasion. There was nothing special there anymore. First off, no more all you can eat sushi-ugh. Secondly, it was dead , meaning not busy, one other customer other than us and she left not long after we sat down...The server looked less than enthused and after seating us came back like every 5 minutes to see if we were ready to order literally. So between seating us and us finally ordering we saw her like 5 times...she really wanted to take our order in a hurry...so much so she didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink. So she took our order and never came back. I had to get her attention to get some water and drinks...10 minutes later, water and drinks.I look back at the sushi bar....no one making sushi, where's our sushi appetizer? Again, we were the only ones in the place but we waited...and waited...and waited...Good thing there was some MMA playing on the big screen, such good ambience in a sushi restaurant...could've at least been sumo wrestling. So we finish our drinks and would need refills for our meal...no one around. I see her! But she's looking away from us at her phone and before I can get her attention she disappears to the back....more waiting...about 20 minutes and comes back out with our food...all our food, the sushi rolls that should've come out before the meal, the hot plates entrees and she turns to make a quick retreat and I have to call out to her, she stops, turns around and forces a smile as I politely tell her that we need refills on our water and beverages. 10 minutes later, drinks. No follow ups AT ALL as we ate and drank. As for food, the sushi was okay but odd. I usually order a specialty roll of ikura and uni with quail egg, usually with rice wrapped with some nori. What I got was not that. This one had no sushi rice, no nori, he used cucumber? Not horrible, but not good either, definitely not what I've gotten at many other sushi bars here and abroad. The other meal items we ordered was a Chirashi sushi bowl (kinda bland and conservative on the fish) curry katsu pork, miso soup, salad...meh, okay I guess. The miso was just the broth, nothing else in it (usually you find a cube or two of tofu and green onion) and the salad was lettuce with watered down dressing. The bottom of my bowl was about a table spoon of white water, someone forgot to drain and dry the lettuce...kinda gross. The only solid was the beer I ordered, luckily it was a bottled beer, just take off cap and serve. Anyways, we ate our meal....and waited. Had to get her f'n attention for the bill! More waiting....anyways, you get the picture.Customer service for this visit was seriously bad and the food maybe okay. So while this place was once a 5 star in our book, it definitely has gone the down hill and has fallen to 2 maybe a 1 star. We came here because of our positive past experiences but now with our most recent one, probably won't be back. Too bad, because it was a great place to go for sushi once upon a time.

They truly deserve 5 stars, so quaint, so clean, so nice. Yes. Yas. Yes! Everything we got which was multiple dishes and variety, was fresh! Was delicious! Was made with quality care and love. The staff is welcoming, not obnoxious, and seems to know just the right amount of attentiveness and leaving you in peace. We went here for my boyfriends birthday, we were able to enjoy this meal and will be coming back for certain! It was also really nice to hear that the staff who were there, and who was serving us, really enjoyed her job. She mentioned it to us when visiting the table that she loves being able to work here. I couldn't be more happy with the service. Please make the drive to try this spot. There is a vast selection and everyone who visits should be able to find something.

The sushi rice was over cooked, the sashimi dinner tuna and salmon tasted odd. My wife and I were both pretty dissatisfied...

Really good. Salad had a spicy dressing but not too spicy. Tempura was good but some got soggy but still mostly crispy.

I've always passed by this place in Everett and this past Tuesday, I decided to try it since I was in the area. Their menu selection has much variety and you can do an online order which is convenient! It's actually thru ChowHow so FYI - there's an account needed to continue with the order whether that is FaceBook, Google, etc. I got the Beef Sukiyaki and got an extra Bento Box for lunch the next day. The bento is around $27 but features sushi or sashimi, a little appetizer choice such as edamame, calamari, agedashi tofu etc, a main entree of teriyaki, katsu or (mackerel I believe?), and then a miso soup/side salad. It's a pretty full meal. The beef sukiyaki - I LOVED the broth! It wasn't salty and the ingredients of the cabbage, onions, mushrooms and carrots along with the tender beef were great. I love the glass noodles with it. The restaurant is tucked in a corner, and it's in a quiet place in Everett. When I went in, there were a couple of tables pre-occupied and my order pick-up was ready to go! One of the staff members was kind enough to let me know how much I would be taking and what the contents of each were. It was a little tough driving home (as to not spill the soup!) There are definitely some other dishes I'd like to try.The staff is nice and hospitable. Would come back again and probably eat there as well!
