Black people are not welcome in this store because both store clerks and uniformed security guards deliberately follow Black patrons in the store. The ambiance in the store reflects the attitudes of the people in the surrounding area of Ballard who express social antipathy towards Black customers whom none respect. Although the quality of the food and prices have value, the store clerks believe Black people have none. In fact their actions indicate Black people have no business shopping in high end stores because all are socially inferior to whites. They automatically believe Black people will steal from the store, therefore store management will send security to follow around Black people whom they consider "suspicious". In fact, other shoppers show visible contempt and verbally express their hostility towards Black people in the store. Actions speak more loudly than words, and by their actions white Ballard residents express open contempt for Black neighbors. It proves open mindedness does not exist because whites do not want any Blacks in close proximity to them in grocery stores.

I love having this specialty grocery store in my neighborhood! It has select products that regular grocery stores don't always carry. Plus they have a big selection of organic produce. The prices are a bit high here but the quality of the food seems good. They also have a small section of refillable products such as hand soap, laundry detergent, etc. Oh and the bulk food section is perfect if you cook with a lot of grains or like to make your own trail mix or granola like I do!They even have a big selection of pre-made food such as soups, a salad bar, and take out dinners. Not to mention a huge cheese selection!

Lunch at Town & Country Market, quite impressed with the salad bar. When in the area, lunches here are always a look forward to treat!

I love the variety of items you can get here that other grocery stores don't or wont stock. There is also a vast hot bar with lots of soups and cold food options. Also located inside is a Japanese food vendor that makes delicious rice bowls and some typical sushi rolls to go. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They do have security sometimes. Shoplifting and homeless issues are a problem but do not seem as bad here.Although you pay a premium for the store. Prices are much higher for meats and seafood. Is it worth the higher price and is the quality better, some what. I do not see that much of a noticeable of a difference.

I'll go out of my way to shop at T&C Markets for multiple reasons, despite living next to a larger chain grocery store. They're union, they're extremely helpful (I've had off-duty people help me find things, I mean COME ON this is nuts), and the selection is unparalleled. Finally used the grocery pickup option as we're shielding so we can see an Immunocompromised friend, and I'll never use another. Not only is the quality of the produce better, but our shopper made sure that we received a much-needed substitution treat when our original choice was out. Not usually one for treats, but now more than ever, some cookies and kindness go a really long way (shoutout to Ali you're aces).

The store has a good selection of food at decent prices. But I would say PCC is a better stop. Their bulk food section here is likely normally impressive. But I can't get over their lack of knowledge of their bulk consumer. Bulk consumers are more often than not trying to reduce their footprint. I understand their are COVID restrictions - you can't bring your own containers. But for the love of god do you have to make your containers so unsustainable? The competitor across the street (PCC) offers both compostable gloves and compostable containers. Your offer plastic gloves (that must be worn) and plastic containers. I cheated the system by finding some paper bags in the produce section. Also you aren't allowing personal bags for groceries. Most stores have gotten over this quite silly rule and are fine with customers bringing their own bag. Your alternative is to offer plastic bags for your customers? Since when has Seattle been okay with plastic bags?I particularly didn't love the tone of the attendant at the self checkout when I didn't see that I couldn't use my own bag. Yes I'm a super environmentally conscious individual. But these are easy things to change and have a positive impact. I hope you can make some of these changes - it would reflect well!

Gourmet cook and foodie's paradise. Despite the ordinary name of this chain, there are tons of reasonably priced and interesting ingredients, and even down to the bulk ingredients you can see the attention to detail and level of curation. Name something ,like a seltzer brand you like or an obscure butter brand, and I feel like you're much more likely to find it here. It's so fun to shop here and got the insider tip from a masterful home cook. So glad to have this around!

One star docked for how expensive it is to shop here, but you can get away with good deals if you pay attention. My former roommate used to rave about T&C and I finally decided to check it out today and it did not disappoint! I was impressed with the meat and vegetable selections. The meat looked really nice so I look forward to coming back and getting some. I was surprised that some Japanese vegetables like the skinny cucumbers, burdock, and taro potato were available. Japanese cucumbers are so expensive so I opted for the usual Persian cukes, which are also hard to find in regular supermarkets in Seattle. Besides that, the bathroom was clean and it was quite pleasant to shop at T&C.

Great floral section, a lot of variety and for a really reasonable price! The rest of the market is nice too, but what really sets it apart from my other usual supermarket stops, like PCC or Whole Foods are the amazing cut flowers.

I appreciate that this store and employees gave great service during the pandemic. they remained open and cheerful. The prices are higher than some of the surrounding area stores. For example, their cheese department prices are really high compared to Fred Meyer and Trader Joes and even Markettime Grocery store. The produce is also high priced, but you can usually find good quality organic vegetables. Overall, I would recommend Town and Country Market, unless you are shopping on a budget.
