This is the best sushi restaurant I have eaten at in a loooooong time. Thank you Yelp for directing me to this amazing place.Absolutely delicious rolls with quality and plentiful ingredients. They also have a huge variety of rolls to choose from. The prices are reasonable for the portions and we left full and very satisfied. They have lots of different specials and huge party tray options too. Excellent service from friendly server. The restaurant is clean, there is a lot of seating, and easy parking. I would eat here every day if I could. Perfection!

We ordered Sushi from here, take away! I would not do it again! All the sushi we had - fire engine, valentines, baked salmon, tuna tataki, salmon nigri- nothing was good. Not even average! The rice was too dry, all the roll pieces were breaking, difficult to pick up by chopsticks! Baked salmon was too dry n breaking, baked Tuna- no taste at all! Nigri salmon was better but the rice under it was too dry n falling/ breaking up. It was really a bad experience! We did not try other items apart from sushi so not sure about them!

Pleasantly surprised. We decided to eat here and loved it. Tucked in a strip mall between Wells Fargo and ďog grooming salon, you'll be surprised with the food this place makes. The sushi rolls are appropriately priced and well made! You get fresh, quality ingredients and a warm bowl of miso soup. Service is spot on. We'll be back for sure!

Amazing service and sushi! The owner is the sweetest woman. She came and spoke to use about her business, very lovely. We were on the lookout for a go-to date night spot and I think we found it! All of the sushi we ordered tasted fantastic and came in big portions not to mention prices were very good. We did the 3 special rolls for $35. Our favorite roll was the lion king!

Saw this place open up recently and came here strictly to try the sashimi. My group ordered a large variety plate of sashimi. The quality of the fish was very impressive. Super soft, tender, melt-in-your-mouth velvety consistency that is indicative of good sushi. The plate fed three hungry adults with a lot of leftover to take home, all under $80. The owner and wait staff were so friendly and attentive, to make sure we had everything we needed. I told them there aren't too many good sushi places in the area and that we normally had to go to Seattle for this. And when I say "sushi" restaurants, I'm referring to the raw fish. There are lots of places that make great rolls, but not all had the impressive quality of sashimi we had here.

We came here again for dinner last night and again had a great meal. This place has great deals on sushi and everything we've had is tasty and fresh. We got the 3 special rolls for $35 and ordered a rainbow maki and hotate (large scallop) nigiri as well. Service is extremely friendly and they were overly apologetic when they realized they had forgotten to bring us the complimentary salad and miso soup. They promptly brought it out and the miso soup was piping hot and the salad dressing was delicious. For the special rolls we got the dragon roll, fire engine, and playboy roll. I didn't love the dragon roll because I didn't think spicy mayo went well with the eel but my fiancé enjoyed it. The playboy roll was my favorite with the combo of fresh tuna, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and avocado. The fire engine roll was also really tasty. The rainbow maki came with 5 large pieces packed with fish. They don't skimp on fish in any of the rolls here. The hotate nigiri was also great. The scallop tasted very fresh and slightly sweet. I would recommend getting this. The place was busier than the last time we were here and we hope it stays popular because it's a great spot. We will definitely be back.

Overall, super pleased and satisfied with the quality of Toudai's sushi. Ordered 3 of their special rolls. Each piece had a combination of complimentary flavors and textures that paired well with each other. The quantity is there as well as I felt each piece was on the larger end of the girth spectrum in comparison to other sushi spots. 3 rolls shared between 2 people filled us up quite well and we didn't have enough room to finish off the sushi burrito. The sushi burrito was tasty, but I wish there were an option to have it wrapped in seaweed instead of a tortilla. Also, wished for a little more fish and for the cheese to be melted inside. Although we only ordered takeout, the interior appeared extremely spacious and clean. I really wanted to know what the chef's special of the day was, but when I asked, the worker said they didn't know and couldn't tell me because the chef keeps it a secret. I found that a little odd since I would've thought if other customers had ordered it, shouldn't the worker know? However, if you're not a picky eater and want to be surprised, I'd say go for it as some of the chef special pics I've seen posted on here look great! Next time I'll probably plan on trying some of their karage because as I was waiting for my takeout order I saw a couple tables order huge platters of it, and it looked amazing!

The sushi was fresh and delicious. Our party was big at 13 people and they were able to accommodate all of us. It was great. We were given free miso soup and started before our food arrived. The beef bulgogi wasn't as good as I hoped. Some sliced were too thick and dry. The Sapporo beer made up for it all. Overall a really good family run restaurant

In short:Lots of sushi rolls, not much fusion. But everything's amazing. Big portions of interesting rolls, and the ramen and sashimi are exactly what I want when I'm in the mood for ramen and sashimi. Which is most of the time.In long:They took over a dark spot in a big, bustling strip mall, and brightened it up. There have been close to 10 restaurants on this parking lot that I've hit up regularly over the last 15 years, and now there's another one. I have killer fish and noodles less than 5 minutes from my house. I'm so stoked about this. You find parking easily, and walk in through the front door in a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. It's a pretty good-sized suite, maybe 20+ tables, and no sushi bar. Some mirrors, a mural, a little TV, some generic art. They might be playing new-age solo piano on the speakers. It's clean, bright, and spacious. Every table is set with mats, napkins, chopsticks. You get a menu right away. The kid running the floor last night was super nice; you could tell he's right at home in a fairly formal dinner-service ambiance, and would probably do equally well in a sports bar or gaming arcade or quite a few other places. He shifted gears easily from customer to customer. Seemed like it might have been all family between him and the kitchen crew. There are quite a few hot appetizers and entrees, a couple soups and salads. These dishes are where you see the Korean influence most strongly coloring the menu and the recipes--there's some bulgogi here and there, there's a mandoo, other stuff. You can get tonkotsu ramen with spicy bulgogi and a garlic base, which everyone should do as soon as they can. Huge flavors, held perfectly in balance, nice tender chunks of pork nestled in the chewy noodles. It was sorta warm out yesterday, and even though a colder day is better for hot soup, this was still the best thing I've had in days. The rolls are awesome. Huge. Huge. There were only a couple slices we could finish in one bite. The few slices we *could* finish in one bite made us look like llamas trying to power through a huge mouthful of grain or something. They're not that big 'cause they're overstuffed with rice, either--by no means. Tons of filling. We put together a small plate of sashimi (from the "premium" section of the menu...which is a list of a dozen slices you can order as sashimi or nigiri). Fatty tuna, yellowtail, unagi, octopus, scallop. It all came out on a banana leaf on one dinner plate, artfully arranged, sprinkled here and there with tobiko. Seriously some of the most decadent slices of fish I have seen in forever--big slabs, very tender and velvety. Wonderful.2 rolls, ramen, sake, tea, salads, miso, and 5 pieces of premium fish were about $107. There isn't much profit margin for them at these prices, so expect to pay more soon once they cultivate a bunch of regulars. They're gonna be packed by the end of summer. Gotta get in here *now*! :-)
