Torchy's Tacos

This place was so good we went 3 times in our week long Scottsdale trip. Our family here tells us it's a must try. So we did and we loved it. The queso was all it's cracked up to be. Get some!

I want to love Torchy's, I really really do.Here are my downfalls: The Tatum/Shea location - the service is terrible. Flat out, the restaurant was empty - two tables in the entire place and there was no one at the service counter when we walked up and no one behind the bar. It took a couple minutes to be seen and have our order taken. The young girl didn't know how to input the menu items so she needed a back up to do it for her - it was a long process to get everything done. The restaurant is nice, relatively clean, and lots of seating but at 5:00 pm on a Tuesday there wasn't hardly anyone there. The saving grace of the evening was the Scallywag taco - wow it was good! Awesome flavor with the shrimp and sauce, that should be a permanent menu item! The fried avocado was good but the cold, bagged Mexican cheese was kind of off putting to me. Overall all the experience was just good, not great, I won't be running back unfortunately!

Bummed to write this. We have eaten here a few times and the food has been great. Was craving tacos so my wife and I decided to make the drive to eat here. We ordered the democrat tacos and man were we disappointed. They were so unbelievably oily it was crazy. Literally our trays were swimming with oil and we had to put napkins to soak it up. A woman who I assume was the manager asked how our meal was so I told her it was just OK. She asked why and I explained that it is because of all the oil in our tacos. She told us that they used to strain the meat but the culinary team told them that is not the way it is supposed to be made. So now they don't strain the meat and leave you with an overly oily taco which is not pleasant to eat.Here is my suggestion to the culinary team... please strain the meat. These tacos were really bad and I have had indigestion since eating them. Way too oily, so oily that it masked the taste of the meat and other ingredients. All in all we will likely come back but will be much more selective with our tacos and will absolutely ask many more questions before ordering.

Everything we ordered was fabulous! Service was stellar - manager connected with us to make sure we were happy! Get the Trailer Park - amazing!!! Chips and queso delicious - perfectly salty chips! All sauces are made in-house - very impressive! Draft beer was fresh and ice cold! Restaurant was clean despite being busy! Friendly staff!

The service was good . I came because the menu looked good. The queso was really yummy but some of my chips were raw. I'll try again the next time we are in town.

Trashy Trailer Park Tacos & Hillbilly Queso is the deal! The addiction continues!

Stopped in for dinner last night after work. No wait when you get in, you order at the counter then seat yourself. The tacos come out really quick which is nice. When ordering I asked the cashier about each of the tacos I got to try. We removed everything "spicy" like jalapeños. The shrimp and the crossroads tacos were good. The Mr. Orange which is salmon, something in the taco (not the salmon) was spicy. I couldn't eat it. We also ordered chips and salsa- we were informed the salsa isn't spicy. It was. I couldn't eat it. So 3 stars for the fact I couldn't eat a few things due to being misinformed about the heat. And how expensive it is. The prices next to the tacos; that's for 1 individual taco no sides. Probably won't be back simply for the fact of not being able to believe the people who work there about what is or isn't spicy. If you don't mind spicy food and love tacos. THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

So disappointed in the last couple of months. This was my favorite place to take my son.. his as well. We were regulars every week not just because of the food but mainly because of certain staff members. Their kindness and professionalism was above and beyond. I told many friends about them and also took family every time they visited. I don't know what happened but it definitely isn't the same and I don't plan to go back near as often if ever to this location. The bar tender was amazing. I will find him elsewhere.

Yuuuuuum delicious tacos.. The trailer park and chick where phenomenal The only thing I would not recommend is the dessert bites.. not good
