Tom Yum Thai Restaurant

Good food, we really enjoyed it. BUT we were visiting from out of town, and saw this restaurant on our map off happy valley road near where we were staying. Decided to order takeout so clicked the link from that store location, it prompted us to their website and we placed our order. Got an email confirmation of our order but there was no pickup time, would it take 20m, 30m, 45m??? When we showed up about 20m later the store said they didn't have it, we ordered from wrong store. But the location for happy valley from maps took us to their website and didn't have an option for "choose a store". How would we have any idea there are two locations?!So we had to drive out of our way 45m to pick up our food at their other location. Very frustrating, they need to fix this on maps and make it clear when ordering. And give your customers an ETA please.

We were extremely pleased with the flavor of the food at this restaurant. It's a little small and when they open the door the cold breeze comes flying in. However, the service is very good and the food comes out quickly so you won't get too cold if you have to sit by the door.Our foursome ordered tempura sweet potato, veggie spring rolls, Tom kha kai with shrimp, spicy basil fried rice with pork, chicken pad Thai, and chicken with broccoli.It's rare that the entrées are significantly better than the appetizers at Asian restaurants but in this case they were. The sweet potato tempura was really greasy, although it was quite crispy. The thin peanut sauce that was served with it was rather lackluster. They only had veggie spring rolls none with any meat and they had a lot of bean sprouts in them which are hard to bite through so they would string out when one took a bite. They were pretty lacking in flavor and were rather pale in color although crispy.The tom kha kai soup was absolutely amazing. It had a rich, darker color compared to versions we've had elsewhere, they used about four really large Kathir lime leaves, and it had nine whole shrimp. Unfortunately, they left the tails on which is so ridiculous when you're eating a soup that you have to stick your hands in there to break off the tails! If you like this type of soup, I highly, highly recommend it. The large size was $16 and easily serve three for a nice size portion or four for a smaller portion.The spicy basil, fried rice was not spicy enough at Thai hot, however, it had really, really good wok hay, and only needed a hint of salt to make it amazing. The chicken pad, Thai was flavorful and tender, and an extremely large portion. The chicken with broccoli was also good and very mild as would be expected. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely return.

Horrible customer service!!!! I ordered take-out through the website for the Happy Valley location. It appears the order was directed to their Bell Road location. My daughter was trying to pick up the order and staff were incredibly rude. I was able to talk to them through my daughter's phone and ask what they could do since the problem was with their website link. They said it was my problem not theirs. I told them I was going to post this review and they rudely said "go ahead". I asked to speak with a manager and they said they didn't have one. Zero help! Rudest exchange I have had in Phoenix to date. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Decided to try for lunch. We were warmly greeted when we came in. We decided on the coconut soup with chicken (my favorite!) and per our server's recommendation, Garlic and Black Pepper beef. Both were absolute winners. Shout out to both servers, Donny and Kaylee. We never wanted for anything. One thing, I think they would really benefit from a weekday lunch menu. There wasn't much of a crowd when other places around it were pretty full. I can only attribute it to that because it very definitely wasn't the excellent food or service!

This is our favorite place to eat when we visit AZ. We absolutely love that they have clear vegan options and non-vegan options so everyone can enjoy something good when we go. The food is so good and is made with quality. Some Thai places are cheaper but you can also taste that the food is cheap too. Tom Yum Thai is very good and the customer service is great. My favorite dishes (so far) is the Tom Kha, Orange Tofu, and Spicy Green Beans. Looking forward to trying more dishes but it's so hard not to choose our favorites every time we go. So many delicious options! The ambiance is nice, clean, great for families or date night.

Everything was so good. Serving portion was generous that we had to bring some home. Place was clean. Service was great and fast.

How do you I say, "I love you" in Thai? Best Thai food I've had in a while & this is my go-to spot. Service is always great!

So my 6 year old as an all American kinda foodie. Pizza, burgers, and hot dogs. He rarely branches out and hates anything outside of his norm. It literally drives me insane since I love different types of foods.However, here at Tom Yum Thai BOTH of my boys chose thai food over smash burger. There are a lot of restaurants in this plaza but this place is hands down worth my money! We got yellow curry with white rice, vegetable fried rice, dumplings and chicken skewers for $51.00 plus tip? It all came out to $60! It's delicious!!! Plus we had left overs. When I asked my boys if they wanted cold stone, they chose fried Ice cream instead. Sadly, they didn't have anymore but if you save room for desert you must try the fried ice cream! It's a must

I have been wanting to try this place for some time. It was worth the wait. I was there around lunchtime and luck for me it wasn't busy. But our waiter greeted us and was attentive & helpful. The food was amazing!! I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken. It was packed with broccoli, onions & carrots. It was colorful & delicious. I really liked the decor, a bit eclectic and they played some awesome disco music that I enjoyed. Great place!
