Todoroki

Todoroki is a totally good spot for sushi or, my favorite, their hibachi room. The food is priced reasonably and is in a nice space right in the heart of Evanston. Service is always good here -- especially the hibachi chefs. Really nothing not to like about this spot, but it likely won't blow your socks off.

Came here on a whim with a friend for sushi after the poke place we were going to go to was closed for the holidays. When we got there, the restaurant was completely empty. The waitress was not very friendly. She came to take our order while my friend was making a phone call and seemed frustrated when my friend asked her to come back when she was off the phone. For the food, my friend got the spicy tuna roll and the gyoza. I got a spider roll and the crazy salmon roll. Both of my rolls were just alright, neither were super flavorful and I would not order the crazy salmon roll again. I tried my friend's gyoza and it was pretty alright, but nothing that you couldn't get at any other sushi restaurant. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. Bad service and adequate (at best) food. Maybe it would be different had we had come for hibachi, but just for regular sushi, this place is worth skipping.

The overall experience was definitely amazing, a great start to my birthday.We were there on April 26, 2024, the cook did an awesome job and I will return and recommend others to go.

This place is amazing. Amazing service and food.They have all you can eat MANU also. I have only good complaints for this place. I will be coming back and this was my second time already. Thank you guys!

We literally think about this place weekly!! It is so AMAZING. I don't think I've had any bad food here. The food is also super affordable during lunch hours/different happy hours. The service is amazing and the staff are awesome. Ambiance in the dining room is good but I'm sure the hibachi room is even better! If you don't mind not having your food cooked in front of you, lunch time is the time to go

Delicious sushi and great lunch special. I got here just before lunch ended, and was able to get the sushi plate lunch special. Picked two rolls, two nigiri pieces, and it came with edamame, salad, and miso soup. Extensive specialty rolls list as well. Will have to come back again!

Pork ramen had a great broth but was really lacking other ingredients in the bowl, such as seaweed, sprouts also what was up with that odd hard poached egg with no runny yolk.

Great rolls and reasonable prices. Atmosphere is nice and had good service for AYCE sushi.

I've been here more times than I can count, and never been disappointed once. This place is a total gem, and one of the best happy hours/lunch specials in the city (I'm talking Chicago here, not just Evanston). Servers are always kind, courteous and prompt. The food is always fresh and well-made. And if you're looking for a cool vibe for a large- or medium-sized group event, check out the tatami tables in the back or the hibachi room off to the side. Can't go wrong.

Food here is just okay... they are not delicious. But the policy is really something that upsets us. The waitress told us to finish every piece of sushi we ordered otherwise we would be charged extra. This is just absurd... we ended up eating too much while the food is bad.I don't recommend here to anyone!!
