Tocumbo Ice Cream

I recently visited Tocumbo and had a delicious experience! I ordered the chamango, and it was the perfect balance of salty and sweet, with fresh mango bits and tamarind candies on top--an absolute treat. I also tried a medium scoop of the mint chip ice cream, and it was so creamy and refreshing. To top it all off, we got an horchata, and let me just say, it exceeded all expectations--it was hands down the best horchata we've ever had!The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is due to the slow service. While everything tasted amazing, it took longer than expected to get our order. That said, the quality of the food and drinks definitely made up for it, and I'll be coming back if we're ever in the area!

I've tried many chamangos, and Tocumbo's chamango is one of my favorites! It's perfect for summertime--a refreshing mango-flavored shaved ice with chamoy and lots of tamarindo candies at the bottom. They are generous with the mango, which is great. My only complaint is that the mango is never ripe and always very hard with no flavor. Despite this, it's still one of my go-to spots for chamango.

Always very clean, love that. Here's the thing: everything here is delicious. But it is very overpriced. But delicious. But overpriced. But conveniently located.

This is not one of my favorite locations. Market location is usually my go-to. I recently went to the new National City location last week & that one was good too. This location just isn't it for me. I've been there 1-2xs. Parking is shared with other businesses. Workers seem whatever about their job. What's weird is they all share the same ingredients for other locations but this location for some reason just isn't good. From the ambiance, the quality, the taste, etc. Idk what it is. But I wouldn't come back here.

I don't get the rave reviews for the chamango? Maybe I came on an off day? But it was nothing like any chamango I've ever had in Mexico or San Diego. It was basically a mango/chamoy raspado with underripe mango chunks on top. So the ice was super thick chunks rather than a smoothie texture. Tasted fine (other than the underripe pieces on top) but not what I would expect when ordering a chamango.

Great ice cream store they have a ton of selections including Mexican ice cream. They also sell smoothies and lemonade with chia it's a must try. The staff is so friendly and helpful for being my first time checking this location. Had a great experience enjoyed my beverage and soda. Recommend this location a visit before dinner hits.

Yum! visited Tocumbo for some Ice Cream and walked out with two aguas frescas. I love how fresh their juices, you can taste the fruit and the freshness. Truly delicious. Their Ice Cream was also very good, they have a lot of "extravagant" flavors (i'm personally not into those) but i know they can be big in the Mexican community (like the odder the flavor the more fun?). I got some of their strawberry ice cream which was pretty good. Large location, with friendly staff, and good ice cream and aguas frescas.

3.5/5 just because every now and then, they mess up on simple orders or make something not taste as good due to adding too much or little of certain ingredients. Only other BIG issue is the homeless outside and the dirty nasty tables outside. Great little place to get an ice cream or raspado. The flavors are great and the food taste delicious.

They have good ice cream and other things but the service is bad they don't listen. They don't help other people when they are right there

i tried playing the lil claw machines which are fuckin rented and the cashier told me she can't do shit bc there rented and i feel like i got scam dont play the MACHINES, I wasted 3 bucks on it which was the first red flag bc who tf play 3 bucks for a god damn little ass claw machine. Am So Fuckin Pissed off 02-04-24
