Toca Madera Scottsdale

This restaurant is a 10/10- my friend & I came here for a dinner celebration for her birthday. The margaritas were amazing, cocktails were nice, dessert was perfect. And the FOOD, oh my goodness. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Nice staff- from the front valet, to the door greeter, hostesses and waitress. We were seated right away and sat in the bar area. We each had a filet and we shared the truffle Mac n cheese, seasonal vegetables and calamari. The sides come a la carte, which I enjoy, it's easy to share and try new things. The filet was amazing, I ordered it rare and my friend ordered it medium rare. The environment, music, atmosphere were great. But also be aware of a lot of "content creators or influencers" videoing everything they're doing and taking photos of their food; didn't bother us but others around us seemed annoyed. A lot of these reviews are for space, crowds and long waits- MAKE A RESERVATION it takes 2 seconds. Yes this restaurant is noisy but you should know that going in to it. Best Mexican steakhouse. Side note- we were surprised to see so many people dressed very very SUPER casual, their website states a dress code and lists a lot of no's but they must not follow through on that.

Dinner was amazing. The drinks and presentation of those drinks was worth going for alone! Everyone loved their food, and the inKind app discount on the website was a welcome suggestion. I've used the app at other locations now too. Overall GREAT experience will be back more often with the Mrs. for some future date nights.

This was my first visit here. It was very crowded with long waits. I went over to the bar to look for open seats. I waited for a little while but finally got lucky. There was a DJ playing music that was very loud. In fact, I had a hard time communicating with the bartenders and it was difficult to have a conversation with my party. I almost lost my voice over it! They brought us complimentary chips and salsa which was good. Salsa wasn't overly hot and the chips had a nice spice on top. The highly priced menu, in my opinion, was not worth the expensive due to the quality, quantity and flavor provided. I had a $20 margarita that was good, nothing extraordinary, but not worth $20. I also had the Mexican salad that was average at $21 and an extra $16 for a protein. The bar area has many tables surrounding it for dining. The tables were crowded and close together and would not be a good place to have an intimate meal nor conversation. The main part of the restaurant seemed crowded but a little more spread out. If you're looking for a trendy 'Place To Be Seen' , this place will please you. There seemed to be a lot of, what I call, 'posers'. Pardon my thoughts, only my opinion. I will say one of the male bartenders that waited on us was friendly and attentive. One of the female bartenders was more interested in high-fiving and hugging her friends next to us and didn't care to acknowledge us. Restroom was clean but had an attendant handing out paper towels and a tip jar. I don't always have cash, so no tip. The hallway to the bathroom is narrow and I got jammed each time I visited. It seemed clean but way too busy and loud for my liking.

One of the best upscale restaurants in Scottsdale. Ambiance is incredible with fire artists and performers inside while you eat. Servers are all very kind and sweet. The music is a bit louder if you are sitting near their bar, so I recommend sitting a little bit away if you want it quieter. Everything is cooked to perfection no matter what you order. 10/10

Amazing decor and vibe instantly. Club music, DJ, fire dancers, margaritas on fire, dress to impress! My enchiladas were amazing and even without a rez we were able to get four seats at the bar by the DJ (score)!

In the past, I've shared this as a great place for happy hour...sexy vibe, beautiful bar, recommended stop for tourists and locals. I'd noted inconsistencies at times around service and dinner. Tonight, I gave it another chance after having shared about the inconsistencies with management. I am pleased to share that my experience this evening was exceptional across the board. The overall dining and customer service were extraordinary. First, let's talk atmosphere. The staff genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves tonight, engaging playfully with each other and with me, which was a delightful treat. The musical acts and fire performer remain spectacular, the DJ entertained guests with great energy, and the adorable teddy bear statue outside remains one of my favorite accents of this place especially for photos. Lauren, my bartender for the evening, provided an excellent service experience. She was sweet, attentive, and checked on me just the right amount. I asked her to create a tart mocktail that could be set on fire like their regular alcoholic drinks, and she did not disappoint. Manager James Hunter went above and beyond to ensure that, while I sat alone at the bar, I did not feel alone. As we talked about visualizing and life, he introduced me to several staff members we had deep chats with, shout out to Nolan! It is so clear that James feels inspired by his team, which was really special to witness. Everyone was truly so kind tonight, and I highly recommend bantering with Von... that man is a hoot and a creative! Loved our conversation about books and life. Ok, on to food, I indulged in the raw oysters, which were fantastic, juicy, and delicious. The staff recommended the yellowtail appetizer with a truffle accent, and it was indeed unbelievable. I ended my evening with the ribeye steak and curly fries, also with a truffle accent. The steak was cooked to perfection--charred on the outside and rare on the inside. Also, while I didn't get it, I saw a grilled fish dish go out and it looked fabulous!Well done, Toca Madera! You have outdone yourselves and clearly implemented some great improvements to maintain your high standards. I look forward to going back!And, hoping to see Von on stage at a future ghost poetry slam!

I am a big fan of Toca Madera restaurant in WeHo Los Angeles. We visited this one in Scottsdale two days in a row. First time was for late night drinks and fire dance shows. Second time was for brunch the next day, they had dance show again at the entrance. It was cinco de mayo weekend so this restaurant was packed the entire time. We were able to grab bar seats for late night drinks and chef's table for brunch without reservations! The chef's table was spacious and intimate for hubby and I, it was fun to watch all the actions in the kitchen too! Both experiences were great! The drinks were so much fun and great pours, the food was so comforting and flavorful. I loved the ghost rider specialty cocktail. The shrimps on a hot stone were so tasty. I appreciated the gluten free chocolate cake. I love Mexican food because a lot of items are naturally gluten free! The service was top notch each time, I was very impressed by the amazing servers! Toca Madera never disappoints! This is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant and bar!Ps. Complimentary valet

Reservations are required so plan ahead. Had a dinner reservation on a Friday around 7:45/8pm. Although the restaurant was pretty full, we were seated within minutes of arriving. The interior is nice but the music is way too loud. My friends and I had to raise our voice to be able to hear one another especially since we were a medium size group. It is also kind of dark inside once you sit but we were able to work with it. They did have staff going around doing fire tricks which was pretty cool but also scary given we were indoors and there are artificial trees inside. Our servicer was friendly and patient with us. The food is GREAT!! All the dishes we ordered were so tasty !! Food ordered: Crispy calamari, truffle fries, truffle mac & cheese, Toca Salad, tomahawk steak. The toca salad was one of my favorite dishes that night, along with the truffle Mac n cheese. I wouldn't recommend going here if you're looking for a quiet dinner but would recommend this place for any other occasion! Food 10/10!
