TJ Oyster Bar

We went to TJ Oyster for lunch. As soon as we walked we were greeted by the cashier. We ordered a michelada to enjoy a Saturday afternoon. We asked for Pacifico but they were out of it. However, they mentioned that they were about restock and asked if we were willing to wait. The pacifico beers arrived shortly after so we didnt have to wait for the miches too long. We also got a couple of glasses of water but the water tasted a little bit weird. The Micheladas hit the spot. We sat outside since it was a really nice day.The Tuna fries were delicious. They Tuna fries have cilantro, onion, sauce and the fries were perfect. The serving portion is large enough to share between two people. The employees came out to check in on us to see if we needed anything. They were very attentive and friendly. This is definitely one if my favorite seafood places in Chula Vista.

I have been going to TJ Oyster bar since they opened up the first spot off Dairy Mart Rd. I would say around 2001We order food frequently. Today we ordered some food to go. When I opened up my bag at home I noticed that the portions of the soup and ceviche tostada were half of what they normally serve you. I called and asked to speak to the owner Ivan and the young lady said he was busy. I explained my concern and she explained that those were their portions. In the pic u can see one tostada a la diabla (full cup) and the second one is the tostada de ceviche. (Half cup) I know for a fact that they always serve a full cup being that I've ordered from there many times. What bothered me the most is that she kept making it seem as if I was being dishonest and she was proving my complain not valid. I didn't want them to give me a discount or my money back I just wanted them to do what's right and serve me the portion I paid for.

If you like SEA FOOD this is the place for you to come SEE FOOD we waited 25min to be seated (party of 6), which is typical wait time at any restaurant but waited an additional 30min for any one to come take our drink order. I stopped hostess an asked who is our waiter all she said was, "I'm sorry," walked towards the kitchen like she was going to tell someone and did not and walked back to the front. Finally a waiter came to take our full order drink and food. Food did come out quickly, but a table of 6 that was seated 5 minutes after us were able to put in their order right after our order was placed... I understand having staff issues, but you were fully staffed standing around. JOSE (waiter) came in and saved the day. The food was great, and Jose's was amazing... PS Hire more waiters like JOSE! Ok I knew that I wrote a review on this place but I can't find it ?? It must have gotten lost in the mail ??lol .Well here goes The TJ Oyster bar in Chula Vista is in my opinión one of the most tasty and affordable places to have seafood. I'm just not going to Mexico (Tj) for seafood when less than a mile from my house I have fresh tasting seafood. The place is small or as I like to say quaint!! You order at the counter from very friendly service members. All that out of the way let's get to to star of the show !!! The food every one has their favorites mine is the seafood tostada Wow you get all the freshness from the sea for $8 bucks? This tostada can easily make two so I have some chips (free) and make two . The second item I order is the seafood broth $6 bucks this soup has bits of fish and other goodies. The broth is very tasty. I love 7 seas soup but at $19 bucks we'll all I say is I'm a senior and I need a deal . They have very tasty fish tacos but I can go any where for them !! Believe me if you love seafood order these two things for under $15 bucks !! You'll thank me latter !!Saude mi amigos

Been coming to TJ oyster bar for years. I used to go to the one off Bonita road, and recently started coming to this location 2 years ago. I probably go here every week!! Every time I dine in at this place the service is spectacular!! The food was out in less than 5 mins, and at this location, if it's busy it does not take more than 15 minutes. They do table service so food is brought to you, just make sure you clean up after yourself when finished to help them! I ordered the smoked tuna taco, grilled fish taco, and Seafood Taco and all were 10/10. I highly recommend the seafood taco if you've never had it! It has octopus, scallops and grilled fish. So much flavor if you want the true seafood taco!!! All the tacos taste best with the chipotle sauce they give and a good spritz of like juice. I also recommend the shrimp ceviche tostado or the 7 seas broth for cold days. Love going here and will be back again

In Sunbow Plaza, there's plenty of parking + shops around. I'vs been to TJ Oyster Bar for years and have recently been frequenting this location because of its easier accessibility. This location is also bigger than the one in Bonita, with plenty of tables and chairs inside and outside. Service is always great and when dining in - they offer limes, sauces, and they have free water cups. My go-to is ALWAYS their fish tacos!! It's so good, crispy, and the chipotle sauce is literally *chef's kiss*. They raised the prices so fish tacos are $3.50 each :,) but they still have their happy hour on weekdays only from 3-6pm where tacos are $2.50 each.

How can you go wrong with the happy hour $2.50 fried fish taco?!?! Amazing!Garlic shrimp taco and fish ceviche tostada were also bomb. Stuffed myself for $22 plus $5 tip. Highly recommend!

One of our go to places in San Diego. Easier parking and larger indoor space than the original location. Our favorites are the Seafood Broth, Fish Tacos, and the Garlic Shrimp Tacos. Make sure to squeeze line on everything, and add extra chipotle sauce, or the red seafood sauce. To your tacos. Another great item to try are there seafood tostadas. Is it a first date place, yes, perfect updated casual atmosphere and great food. Don't think I have had anything that I did not like here. Food 5 of 5 perfect combination of fresh flavors, Value 5 of 5 Great food at a reasonable price, Service 5 of 5. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and ready to assist. I am obsessed with Tj Oyster Bar. Their tacos are amazing, flavorful and very fairly priced. I additionally think the staff is extremely kind. I've had some really good conversations while seated at the bar. They were also great about making recommendations when I wanted to try something new. If you're looking for a cool lowkey spot for dinner, look no further.

I love this location! Those sometimes services are bad, the food and ambiance are great and less crowded and noisy since its small! I go here for fresh oysters and calamari! Some location serve so little, but here they serve right amount!
