TJ Oyster in Bonita Canyon is a must-visit for seafood lovers! The seafood appetizer was fantastic, served with tostadas and saltines. It had a mix of shrimp, octopus, and scallops. The scallops and shrimp were incredibly fresh and delicious. Even though I'm not usually a fan of octopus, it was quite good too!The highlight of the meal was the grilled fish burrito. The chipotle sauce and fluffy fried rice were amazing. The rice was surprisingly flavorful and something I dream of making someday. The service was good even though it was busy and the place was very popular with happy hour starting so the ambiance was lively.Overall, TJ Oyster offers a great dining experience with delicious seafood and standout dishes. Highly recommended!

I'm all for seafood tacos, and this place hits the spot! You might miss the location, since it's in a plaza on the corner. Parking lot is a bit small, and tight. When you enter the small restaurant, you pay at the front and receive a number. They will bring out the food to you. There's seating inside and outside.I chose to sit outside. The workers do check in on you, asking if you want any limes or sauce. They have 3 sauces in the bottles, green, red, and Chipotle. I prefer the Chipotle sauce, since it's smokey and has a bit of a spice.I didn't wait too long for the tacos. They stuff the tacos, with so much protein! There would be octopus or shrimp falling off, everytime I took a bite of the tacos. I ordered the octopus taco and the shrimp diabla taco. My favorite taco was the octopus taco, which was soft. Whatever white sauce they used on the octopus taco enhanced the flavor of the octopus. I wasn't really a fan of the spices for the shrimp diabla taco, but it was still tasty. I would come back, for sure.

Seafood craving fulfilled! Wow. I was most impressed with how fresh the seafood is. It came out piping hot too. Quick and friendly service. There's always a line out the door,8 appreciate the staff's urgency. I didn't even have to ask for sauces. They gave it to me before my food came out. The space is very small, no room for strollers. Seating is available inside and outside, but like I said, space is limited. The star of the show was the fish taco and fried calamari. I love the sauce the calamari came with. The oysters were ok, not great. But still was enough to satisfy my craving. I wish I had horse radish or vinegar to add. The traditional Tabasco and limes did the job, but I probably wouldn't return for the oysters. I'd come back for the tacos though! Small, but tasty.

Our go-to! This location is our favorite, since the service is always friendly and fast, plus it's fun to sit at the bar top and watch the food being cooked. The fish taco is perfectly lightly and crisply battered and is delicious with the chipotle sauce. The seafood taco is another winner, with mini scallops and octopus slices. A standout is the green shrimp aguachile- chock full of shrimp and always satisfying. Just tried the house special tostada and it was the only thing we've had that we wouldn't get again- the sauce was a bit too sweet, but attached the pic anyways to show how generous the portions are. Always a delight to eat here :)

I recently visited the oyster bar and had an incredible experience! The tuna fries were absolutely amazing, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. During happy hour, the tacos were a steal, and the fish tacos were particularly delicious. The ambiance was great, the service was top-notch, and I can't wait to go back for more!

I'm reading all theses amazing reviews... and I'm usually happy supporting this establishment... How could they go wrong on my order???!!! Calamari was over salted and my fish burrito missing fish ( extra breading ) with an abundance of tomatoes!!! The seafood burritos turned out fine. A variety of seafood and just the right amount of veggies and rice.

Delicious food, good service, in a casual ambiance. Liked the tacos fish, shrimp and octopus. Tuna fries sound fishy but are really delicious. Service was very friendly. Bartenders are great. Highly recommend this place for a casual dinner. Gets busy on a Saturday night.

What more can I add to the plethora of T.J. Oyster bar reviews....$1.85 tacos on a Sunday,$1 on Tuesdays are the specials that I spied. I was full and satisfied with 2 loaded fish tacos. And this, paired with coffee from Pavaraga?? Oh...the best!It was a good day with good company!On this particular busy as always day, the kitchen came out to let the order staff know that they ran out of oysters, and it was only barely noon. So if oysters are your thing, better call ahead to make sure they have what you are craving. Come here for takeout or to go, like me, because inside seating = you may be packed like sardines. iykyk

I was highly dissatisfied with my order. This is the worst Campechana cocktail I have ever had!!! The cocktail consisted mostly of imitation crab cut into cubes. The actual taste of the cocktail was horrible! It definitely was not worth the $18. I will stick to Karina's for my seafood cocktails. I would not recommend this place for a seafood cocktail .
