Calm ambiance on a Tuesday evening. Good food: I took the salmon and I highly recommend it.

Cafeteria style restaurant. You have to order at the counter and then take a number and pick your seat.There is a drink station in the restaurant with a container for water and a soda machine. Paper towels and utensils are also at the same place. You have to collect your own paper towels and utensils. There is seating inside as well as outside on the patio. Quite a lot of space. It looks a little dark in the restaurant and we chose to sit outside. My husband ordered the turkey entree with two sides - stuffing and mashed potato. He commented that the turkey and the food tasted microwaved. And he didn't really like it.My entree i ordered was charsiew entree with brussel sprouts and bokchoy with mushrooms. The charsiew was a little dry at parts but the colour looked a little off. It came with not what I would consider charsiew sauce and brown mustard- which is a very weird combination. Also the charsiew tasted a little like duck to me. The brussel sprouts look like they were made from frozen brussel sprouts and was very mushy. It was definitely not fresh. The bokchoy was sautéed to death it was also mushy. The only saving grace was the shitake mushrooms.After lunch, both of us were having tummy issues. We probably will not go back again.

What once was a favorite is no longer a place I'll consider. The food quality has gone down hill. Came in today got the steaks meal and salmon meal. The steak was overcooked and dry. Failed to provide any steak sauce so basically impossible to eat without drinking a gallon of water. The mashed potatoes was a favorite but unfortunately tasted nothing like before. The salmon was bland and dry. The onion strings were chewy and bland. All together everything we got tasted terrible.

I love the you can get your tummy filled here with quality food made with quality ingredients and not feel guilty about it!So here's the deal- As part of my healthy eating regimen I allow myself to eat French fries only once a week. My "Frie-Day" is my sacred day and the deep fried spuds that I indulge in had better be hot, fresh, never frozen, the better be damn good!!! TinLeaf's Fries NEVER disappoint. They are savory, perfectly crispy, and generously portioned. I can make a whole meal out of their large, shared fries and, indeed I have and the Basil Mayonnaise that you can get with them is a perfect accompaniment! I also love their Seared Ahi, both as a Salad and as a Sandwich, It's super healthy, low in fat, and the greens and bread they serve it on is always fresh. Their Salmon entree is also exquisite. What better way to score some health conscious Omega 3's?! I love that you can customize your two sides with their plates and you can't go wrong with their Asian inspired Green Bean and their comfort food Mashed Potatoes. Honorable mention also goes to their heart warming Turkey Pot Pie, which brings back memories of my childhood! TinLeaf is my steady YUM!!!

So disappointed that I have to write this review but honesty is key. The fries were fine but not the best, I tried the curry ketchup hoping it would be just as amazing as the one I had in San Fran but it was more like regular ketchup with a very small hint of Indian spices. Nothing good. I got the avocado, lettuce and tomato sandwich and the basil sauce was so overpowering that's all I tasted and I had to pick off a lot of parts because they were old. Now the size was ridiculous, no joke it was the size of a little package of ketchup!!! I couldn't believe it, for the price I will not be back. Beware also that even if you get it to go they still charge you a nonsense extra 5% for them to hand you a bag.

I ordered the build your own salad with arugula, crispy chicken, eggs, goat cheese, avocado, and quinoa with the green goddess dressing. It was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. We sat outside on the patio with our dog and enjoyed the time we spent in the sun. This place would get five stars if it was just a tad more affordable but as is this is a solid four stars.

I go there for lunch and they're pretty fast and always friendly. You order at the counter and get a number so the vibes are casual as you choose your own seat inside or outside. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and I am obsessed! Coming back again for it!

Good fresh salad but lacking in quantity of ahi especially at $20. Diverse menu and lots of seating options including outdoors

Another pleasant lunch experience here on a perfect Sunday afternoon! I enjoyed seeing the touches of autumn decor on the tables. We sat outside on the patio, which was nice and breezy. Our food arrived quickly and the staff was friendly. We both ordered the Asian Chicken Salad, which I've gotten before and enjoyed. This time it was good, but we didn't realize until we were almost done that there was no chicken on either of our salads. Fortunately when I brought this up to the manager, he was apologetic and I happily took a replacement salad to go (with chicken). Next time I'll be sure to check that everything is on my plate that should be!

I've been coming to TinLeaf for 15 years and every visit I'm stoked! The menu is full of fresh healthy options that are tasty and delicious! I usually order the skirt steak salad or the seared ahi tuna salad. I'mkind of a creature of habit that way. They are very consistent with the dishes and every timeI've ordered it's tasted amazing!The staff gives excellent customer service! The restaurant is clean and spacious. They have indoor seating as well as patio seating! If you're looking for a good salad, check out TinLeaf next time you're in Carlsbad!
