The place was great. The decor was bright and fun!We had drinks here and then brunch the following day! The pineapple and ginger tahona was great. For brunch we did the mercado experience and all of the food was delicious. Everyone was very polite.

Rarely right low star review because there muuust be something good in every place, right?Well, the interior design is impeccable, in the midst of heat and humidity, the cool-neutral interior gives is a relaxing feel. Very Tulum. One star. The hosts and the wait staff were so sweet. And did their best to save the not so great experience.Went for lunch, because why not, heard this place was popular for dinner so we opted for a more relaxed service. And here is where it falls (very) short. If the kitchen can't execute all 3 services (breakfast, lunch, dinner), just maybe don't risk it?The food we received felt like the kitchen gave up or honestly did not care as to what they put out on the pass.Fried Plantains 0/5, big miss (should have listened to the past reviews TBH), I rarely send dishes back. But this one had to go. It was greasy and the plantain was chunky, not CHONKY bu chunky pieces of raw, unripe plantains that was not seasoned. It was like starchy pucks. Le sighChicken - this one was.... the straw that broke the imaginary camel's back. The rice was -- undercooked. Not by a little, but you can see the opaque centers (it was in broth too), the broth was warm. The chicken was surprisingly (thank goodness) cooked and juicy. But someone looked at that rice and decided "hmmmkay whatevs, serve" Our server noticed that we were not having a great time and bless her heart she was so sweet. And while we were probably one of the few guests for lunch, not once did the GM stop by. At a restaurant with this caliber (and honestly price point) one would expect attention to detail.A case where BOH failed FOH, majorly.

Came here on a Saturday night and it was empty. We made a reservation online but you could have walked in without one. We opted for indoor seating but they have a nice outdoor seating area too. It was just too hot. We opted for the tasting menu but underestimated how much food came with it so we were stuffed by the end. They do let you take the food to go and since we were staying in the hotel, they reheated the leftovers for us the next day too. The tasting menu is interesting. The food is unique. A lot of the different plates I normally would not combine together. I would even say some dishes almost had a fusion Asian flavor. Like the tuna crudo comes with a corn coconut broth. It's a chilled broth but not heavy on the corn flavor. It reminds me of a Thai coconut curry sauce. Same with the purple yam, ube, which is used in a lot of Asian cuisines. The tasting menu also comes with a full size 12oz New York steak. I asked for my steak to be cooked rare but it came out barely pink. I believe they mixed up my steak with my friends so we switched but even then her steak was pink and not really rare red. Only dish I was meh about was the dessert which was a vanilla flan. I would have loved it without the heavy shaving of manchego cheese on top. It was overwhelming and pungent and made the taste of the flan salty and sweet but strange. Our server was wonderful. He was always checking on us and he even noticed I didn't like my beverage much and took it off the check. Great guy!Fun experience and the food was unique. Worth a try if you're in the area or wanting to try something different!

Nice beautiful restaurant inside the hotel .. liked the decor. The staff were extremely nice and attentive.. stopped in for a drink a quick bite ..I'm a big fan of Paloma's this twist with the yuzi was chef kiss definitely on my second spot.. it was perfect.. I had the beef tostada it was so good I know it was because of the bone marrow.. this was definitely a memorable dining experience. The twist on the favorite Latin dishes were done correctly.. it's been a week and I'm still thinking my experience can't wait to come back

Here's another restaurant that reminisces the vibe of Tulum! The aesthetic is absolutely stunning. I ate here for both brunch and dinner. The brunch was a buffet with a wide variety of options--something for everyone! I particularly enjoyed the make-your-own tostadas and the fresh juice. For dinner, the romaine salad was my favorite!

Tia Carmen was such a treat for breakfast during our staycation! The breakfast bar is self serve and has an abundance of options. There was pastries, potatoes, eggs, an omelette station, and more. Also, the birria was so good that it inspired me to make my own for lunch recently.I also liked that there were multiple drink options with agua frescas in the buffet area to try. We had a wonderful server who checked in to make sure everything was great and she brought us coffee as well. The decor in this restaurant really elevates everything as well. It's so visually stunning inside. I definitely want to come back for dinner.

We have heard great things about Tia Carmen and it definitely met our expectations. The aesthetic of the restaurant transported me to Tulum. It is beautiful once you step inside and the outdoor dining space was a whole Tulum beach vibe. Service was good. Food came out at a good pace, even with our table of 7. Favorite appetizer is the tuna crudo, that broth is just absolutely amazing and full of flavor. You could drink it on its own. The fish was fresh and there were tapioca pearls that just added another layer of texture. All the entrees were so good! The steak my husband ordered was perfectly cooked and the mole sauce that it was served it was one of my favorites moles. It was more on the sweeter side but the chocolate flavor was so intense that I was surprised how well it worked with the steak and bone marrow butter. I got the purple yams and I can't even describe how well all the flavors worked. The dish was lacking some texture since everything was soft but I didn't even care cause it tasted SO good. For desserts we tried the omakase (which can vary every time) and the flan with tequila caramel and manchego cheese. Hands down the flan! The caramel sauce was to die for and the shredded manchego added a salty balance. Can't wait to go again and try the other dishes on the menu.

Super cute and bougie brunch spot! Great service too. My group of 6 came for weekend brunch and got the mercado experience, which is the breakfast buffet for $42/pp.For the cost, it would be nice to have some more premium items, but if you don't mind spending for the ambiance there is still some great food options between Mexican and Western. The salad bar is really nice. Omelette station good. Horchata was the best horchata I ever had! Tres leches french toast was also quite good. Pozole on weekends only.If you have any big eaters then you could get decent value out of this.
