The Whining Pig - Downtown

This place is truly doing something right. Craft beer without breaking the wallet.As long as they stay price-conscious and have that brown bag special they will always have me as a customer.

Grabbed a beer with my husband here- great vibes! Service was good and fast. It is very loud in this bar between the music and fans cheering on their teams that are playing on the tv. Very laid back and fun place. Dog friendly!! I got to stare at the cutest little pup while I drank my beer. The beer selection is HUGE here and they are bound to have something that you like.

Right in heart of downtown Phoenix! Great atmosphere, lots of beer options, fun games to play

My husband and I came here on a Sunday close to 1:00pm. Although Yelp says that they opened at 1:00pm, a bartender stated that on Sundays they open around 2pm due to the low traffic on this day and at this time. We were waiting in front of the doors to find another place to go and the bartender went ahead and let us in at 1pm! The ambiance is always nice to me. The lighting in here just gives me good vibes. I haven't had the food from here but I plan on it when I come back!

Wine was good. Meat/cheese board was not impressive. Not bad, but far from special. Salami, ham, dried apricots, walnuts, crackers, two soft cheeses and one medium cheese, and olives.The problem was just the quality of ingredients. It was mediocre for $13 and their description as "artisan meats and cheeses" is just not accurate.You can definitely get all of these ingredients, at this quality, prepackaged at CVS (except the ham and cheese). One of the cheeses was pretty good (the medium one).The music was loud and not my vibe at all (it was like 2000's alternative rock or something is my best guess). It was a Tuesday night. There were like 4 people there. No idea why the music sounded like a kids dorm room. Service was not bad. No smiles or anything made me feel super comfortable but it was fine.I asked about food and she assumed I was a tourist I suggested majereles, ainsworth, or Blanco. Of those, Blanco is the only one I'd intentionally eat at haha but that's ok. It's subjective. They had shrek on the tv and then buffy the vampire slayer. I don't care either way but just fwiw.I can't think of any really compelling reason why I would go back. Oh, they have board games. If I had a friend over that liked games maybe it would be a good place for a wine and a game. But being so loud, not even sure about that. I still haven't found a great place downtown for wine and charcuterie. So far, the options on Roosevelt (a few blocks up the road) are much better.

Love, Love this location! We happened upon it accidently! We go to the Whining Pig in Ahwatukee and heard about this location but had not gone to it. We were walking on our way back from dinner and saw it! Of course had to go. Anthony was the server on staff. Great knowledgeable bartender. They even have a chalkboard list of each of the bartenders favorite brews. On today's trip we decided to stick with wine. A much bigger location than the Ahwatukee one and there is much room to social distance with tables and a large bar. When downtown search out the Whining Pig! You will be glad you did!

If I could do more than 5 stars I so would!! Ryan was by himself the night.. when I came in it was chill.. I was drinking solo.. only one watching the TV he changed it for me for NBA all star weekend.. knew all the songs.. when it got busy I noticed he was on his A game.. taking pizza orders(didn't know you offered that seeing my first time just randomly coming in) and explaining all the beers and the history. I would also like to add I LOVE the vibe.. of this place!! I WILL BE BACK!! SHOUTOUT TO RYAN!! THANKS FOR CHECKING ON ME AND SHOWING IMPECCABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE DUDE!! Hands down the best spot outside of the ballpark and arena to have a drink. Amazing rotating selection on draft and rare finds in the can. Insane HH 3-7PM daily games to enjoy with friends and a couple tvs sporting whatever local game might be on. I have been here at least 25 times and I have enjoyed something different every single time. Do keep in mind they serve Beer, Mead & Wine only

It's very loud inside, and it patio is small...but the service is top notch and the wine and beer selection is amazing!! Location is great!...right across from footprint center! One of my favorite places in downtown Phoenix. Highly recommend!!!

This place has so many craft beers on draft, as well as in can and bottle. The service was great. Bartender explained beers so I could narrow down my options. Draft beer was very cold, which tasted great on a 110+ afternoon. Laidback atmosphere was nice before heading to a concert.
