The Whale Tea

I got the lychee oolong tea and my group and I think it has a weird after taste, I'm thinking it's just a very strong oolong flavor that my other groups fruit tea don't have bc they got green tea. The passion fruit tea was pretty good and the mango fruit tea was too sweet for our entire group even at 50% sweetness. We also got a viet coffee macaroon, solid, very strong coffee flavor. Husband had the Ube boba milk tea and wasn't too happy with it. I tried a sip too. I don't think it was sweet enough (even after giving it a real good shake) or cold enough. He asked for less ice, but got no ice. Maybe the taro milk tea which he normally goes for would have been better. I like the space, design, and comfortable seating area. It's near to Bellevue park (walking distance 5 minutes). We'll probably give this place a try one more time. PS there's vanilla and match icecream in the store too but but actually its a by different owner and it's called "indigo cow".

I ordered an oolong milk foam with 30% sweet, but the drink tasted like it was 0% sweet. The tea flavor was good and the milk foam was the right amount of salt, but was a little disappointed that it wasn't exactly 30% sweet. My bf got the red bean slush (which he had tried before) and was also a little disappointed because it was not as icy (too liquidy), didn't have enough red bean flavor, and there wasn't enough milk foam. The lack of red bean flavor may have been the fact that they just put less red beans in the drink. As for location, it's in a pretty convenient spot with street parking nearby. The interior is cute and spacious with large seating areas and self serve ordering systems. Overall, not bad, I would give this place another chance too.

I think this is a solid boba spot, I had gotten the mango green tea and I liked the mango bits it comes with; plus my other friends said they thought it was good too. There wasn't much service because you just ordered on the kiosk screen. I really liked the interior, it was bright and clean and there are these countertops but I really liked the couches they have (good place to sit and yap). Also, parking might be meh sometimes. And it's conveniently next to indigo cow.

The vibe here is so nice! Compared to other boba places I've been to with rickety stools and minimal decoration, it feels like no expense was spared on making the interior feel like a place you'd love to hang out with your friends. Boba is good (although expensive), drinks came out quick, and it was a fun place to hang out with friends.

A cute little bubble shop nestled in downtown Bellevue. These are not your typical milk tea/bubble tea drinks, these are definitely ones that have more character. These aesthetically pleasing drinks will attract you to stop by AND want you coming back because they also taste pretty good! It was not busy whatsoever when we came in. There is a self-service kiosk you can use to order your drinks, but there is also a cashier if need be.

I was not exactly impressed with the brown sugar milk tea (it was average at best and the flavor was a bit muted and/or diluted) and did not care for the milk foam in the milk foam grape tea on my first visit. However, I decided to give the Whale Tea another try because of the friendly customer service.With another "buy one get one free" coupon in hand after lunch at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka, I stopped by the Whale Tea again - this time for the ube milk tea. BINGO! I finally found a drink I enjoyed here (It remains my favorite drink at the Whale Tea to this day.)By my third visit, the weekday promotion already ended but that did not matter as someone was treating. I was torn between the ube milk tea (my love) and something new and decided on the latter. The red bean milk slush was alright; I loved chewing on the red beans but the rest of the drink was forgettable. Drinks and friendly service aside, the Whale Tea is well-designed. You can order at the counter or through a touchscreen if you prefer contactless ordering. The interior is welcoming and spacious. And although seating is limited, the outlets placement makes this place a perfect option for studying and working. The only downside? It opens at noon.Overall, I highly recommend the ube milk tea here. I do see myself coming back once every few months when I feel like treating myself!

Really good boba! I like the milk foam mango tea. The cafe is really pretty inside because of the whale plushies and whale art. I would say this is a good study spot too.

Sort of average boba. I've tried the jasmine chrysanthemum tea and the strawberry milk tea w foam. Both are tasty but a little on the sweet side. Some drinks default to large but would be nice to have a small. You use a touch screen to order but there are staff to help if you have questions about your order. Plenty seating and cute decor. The shop also shares with Indigo Cow so you can also get soft serve here if you'd like!

Super delicious bubble tea. You can tell when the boba is fresh and soft and this is some of the best I've ever had! Rich, delicious flavoring in the brown sugar tea and the fruit tea was just right. We were a little confused with the takoyaki situation and decided not to order it
