Relaxing VibeThis was our first visit to Urban Corner and it was a pleasant expeirence. This restraunt is clean, nicely decorated, friendly staff and best of all the food was great, everything tasted homemade.We had a hard time picking which "home cooked" menu items we wanted. On this visit we ordered ribs, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, wings, and shrimp tacos. All our entrees were delicious, and served quickly and pipping hot. Great Food, service and I really appreciated the live music. Highly recommend you check this place out

Had some friends meet me at this place for lunch today. They were to open at 11am, met my friends there at 11:45. The place was locked up tight. Waited for almost 30 minutes. Nothing. Went next door and asked about the place. They said the restaurant was having staffing issues. I will NEVER return and will certainly tell others to stay away.....they will have too the place does not seem to be open.

I have come here before.... 2x actually.. tonight I brought my sister from out of town... and we were charged $10 a piece to sit DOWN. I let the man at the hostess stand know we were there to sit down and eat.. he said "it's normal for this area" SIR NO IT IS NOT. I have never in my life been charged to SIT down at a restaurant/bar... he said it's to "hear the band" I'm sorry but this is EXACTLY why we as a community cannot succeed in areas like this.. I'm embarrassed that I brought someone here. Absolutely ridiculous. $20 to sit down and order food and drinks.. then I'm supposed to tip?!!! So I pay you to walk in the door.. then pay you for crappy tap water. Then pay you for mediocre food.. seriously?!!! I've given this place entirely too many chances. Officially done trying to support. I came back because I had a 20% off that was given to me by one of The owners last time I had a crappy experience.. guess what.. it's EXPIRED!!!!! After all this we decided to stay and eat.... Guess how long we were waiting for drinks and food?? Well over 20 mins for drinks.. just for the waitress To come back and tell us they were out of the mix to make a mojito... sooooo what you are telling is that all the time I waited for my drink... you were just putting it in? Still haven't ordered food at this point.. then I see two workers taking SHOTS together... like what is this?!!! Oh and none of the servers have on masks.. so we finally got our food.. 45 mins later and they got it wrong!!! Brought me shrimp instead of catfish.. I kid you not.. worst time ever. The food was decent.. not bad flavor, but just because of the service.. I will NEVER COME BACK.. just got our check and guess what.. after all our Trouble, they took off $2.40.. Thanks. Thank you SO MUCH FOR THAT $2.40!!!!!!! Amazing..

Enticed by the music and atmosphere, soon to be disappointed. 45 minute wait for a drink order! Food. Tried 3 different entrees. Catfish was good and pass on rest. Took too long. Owners need to get it together. A lot of people standing around, not helping. Chaotic.

I've actually been here twice now, once for lunch on a Saturday and once on Sunday to watch the game. The lunch was nice, good music, good service. But the food was average. The grits had no flavor or even salt. The shrimp were good but there wasn't very much sausage either. When I came back on Sunday for game day, it was a different story. It was about half full, and I sat at the bar. Several bartenders walked by me without even acknowledging my presence. After about 15 minutes, I asked one that was standing right in front of me for a menu, which he obliged. Another 10 minutes go by and no one has still asked if I needed anything. FINALLY the owner asked if I'd been helped and I told him no. I then got a drink. But again, when it ran out, I had to ask a bartender if I could get another one. It was like I was invisible. I had some nachos (eh) and left.Would I return? Maybe if they ramp up their customer service training at the bar. The vibe here is cool though.

Was excited to try this new place who seemed to have a great breakfast selection. After we had placed our order we were told that the kitchen was out of numerous items. After selecting another option we waited an hour before our food arrived. The chicken and waffles was 4 chicken wings and a waffle very disappointing in the length of time to get our food and also the outcome. When we told the staff we could not wait as we had to get to work and we had been there over an hour no apology for the length of time it took and the Manager Burn could not be bothered to come out and talk to us. Very poor experience!!! Great atmosphere but they need to get their act together!!!

The food is Good!!! The floor plan, and aesthetic have eye appeal. The potential is huge because the food is SO good! If I were to critique a few things....having a history in food service, bar-tending, and restaurant management....I would focus on these 2 major points: #1. The service is slow in all respects. Having speedy, efficient, and enthusiastic staff would make a Huge difference! Having service minded staff is everything! #2. The location is the attached restaurant to the Best Western, which is located just south of Van Buren off Litchfield Road. This is not prime for heavy foot traffic or quick access from the freeway. I have concerns about the longevity of this business based on those 2 critiques, alone. POTENTIAL! Hire experienced, passionate, food service staff who want to succeed and their place of work to succeed!! Care about your guests, it costs nothing. Without this, your restaurant will not stand the test of time even with scratch kitchen, amazing food!! AND communicate with your guests an make them feel like they matter and are appreciated for choosing your restaurant! Attitude is everything!

I want to start by saying that I have NEVER left a poor review, nor have I walked out of a restaurant until today. As someone who served tables for several years, I even feel embarrassed if I have to send food back, etc.That being said, I was disappointed by the service here today. We arrived at about 10:10am, ten minutes after they opened. We waited at the door (4 of us) for about 5 minutes before even seeing an employee. We waited a couple more minutes before we were actually sat (after two different employees looked at us, so I know they knew we were there). It would've been nice to be acknowledged and hear "I'll be right with you" or something along those lines. It's important to note that there were only two other tables seated, a 6-top and a 2-top. I was patient because I know they just opened and the server (it seems like there was only one guy on the floor, the same guy who seated us) was probably busy getting their drinks, etc. After being sat, the guy didn't say a word to us (again, would've been nice to hear an introduction or be told "I'll be right with you"). We continued to sit there for 20-25 more minutes without being acknowledged or even given waters, etc. The server walked past us probably 4-5 different times and didn't even look at us.We walked out at about 10:40, 30 minutes after arriving. We never even got waters or got our drink orders taken, nor were we ever acknowledged by the server after we sat down. I also noticed that the other two tables didn't have drinks yet either and they got there before us, so I can only imagine how upset they were getting as well (I don't know if he even took their drink orders, but I'm assuming he did before we arrived - if not, yikes). I'm not sure if it was a staffing issue or what. I can understand if a server is super busy, especially when there is one person there, but I can tell you right now that I would NOT be leaving this review if we had at least been acknowledged during that time. I don't mind being patient, and maybe 3 tables can be overwhelming for some people. But I do think 30+ minutes (and who knows how long it would've been if we stayed) of waiting to even be greeted is too long, regardless of the circumstances. We won't be returning.

The first red flag is that I called on Father's Day to ask for the wait time & there was none. It was around noon & there is only 2 other people when we arrive, it's dead silent & when a place is this empty it's definitely a bad sign.The hostess told us right away that they were short on staff so that it would take longer to get our food. (There's a total of 4 people including us in there) The water taste like sink water, I ordered spinach & tomato eggs white omelet. When I received it there was no spinach or tomatoes & it was not omelet style. The potatoes were hard & tasted like they were 3 days old. I told the server I didn't not like the food & she said she would "give me a discount" I really don't know how this place is in business.
