Loved loved loved everything about this bar from the spooky history of the bar to the underground bar. My girlfriend and I started and the top of the bar greeted with Sarah she was amazing we love you Sarah haha. She told us some more history about the bar and hidden gems tucked away. After drinking some mimosas at the top went down to the underground bar boy was this my favorite part everything vintage old school / new aged dark yet retro set up in there. If you are looking for a amazing bar filled with history this is by far one of the coolest bars I have ever been to we had a blast from the past for sure. Definitely suggest going to this bar while in Seattle.

We started at the Merchants Café and saw that the underground was open! I usually come by and the underground is roped off so this was my chance!I am guessing I should review the Café as well separately so more on that later. When I walked down and saw the heaters going and the intimate group of great people at the bar talking, it was immediately the atmosphere I was looking for, for my current group of people I had brought over. It was a nice dark place with many theme like saloon doors, lanterns, and other decorations pertaining to the time of year we were in.The bar tender was very attentive and alert as well as helpful and friendly. The little nook they had at the bar made the saloon feel very intimate and the seating area outside of that welcomed groups to congregate personally in its womb.I wondered what the underground history was like back in the day. False windows now hang in the holes of one wall while original brick work surrounded us.The drinks were fairly priced for a Friday night and made well. Thanks for the nice experience!

Underground Saloon is probably one of the coolest bars in all of Seattle, truly. Because of its history and the appeal of drinking in a musky, brick and stone basement, it doesn't even have to try to be hip or distinguished in order to accomplish both. They also have "fun" little Edison light bulb glasses that my gf loved for her drinks. We sat here with friends for probably 3-4 hours on a Fri evening/night and never got tired of it, we just got wasted and thought it best to leave. Their prices are comparable to other upscale places in Pioneer Square. I've never tried any food, so I can't speak to those details.

My sister and I went to the Underground Saloon last night for a drink. We had been there before, about a year ago, and liked it then. Last night, however, we walked up to the bar and each ordered a drink. I ordered a vodka tonic, and she ordered a beer. Those two drinks were $25.17. I couldn't believe the price! I live in Seattle, so I'm pretty used to everything costing an arm and a leg, but I have never in my life been charged that much for two simple drinks. They definitely were not that expensive the last time we went there, or we wouldn't have come back. So, when the bartender told us the cost, we were clearly confused and thought he had made a mistake. He saw our confusion and explained "the gratuity is included." WTF? Have you ever heard of a bar including gratuity on a cocktail and a beer? I haven't. At restaurants they don't even add it unless you have like 5 people or more because it's extra work. How much gratuity did he charge? Ten dollars?!? I mean, to be fair, it did take him about 70 seconds to pop the beer and pour my two ingredients into a glass, so I guess he deserves ten dollars for that strenuous, back-breaking work. I was and still am baffled. We will definitely not be back. We did pay for the drinks, which was stupid because we SHOULD have left right then. The bartender said "enjoy your drinks" and I said "enjoy your Mercedes" because this guy is clearly rolling in dough, tacking on massive gratuities wherever he feels like it. Oh, and we went to another bar in the same block and got the same exact drinks for $12. Gratuity NOT included, like a regular, normal bar.

Would be cool ambiance except it smells like urine. As we walked out immediately, dude talking to the bar tender was begging to us "Stay! Stay!".

The decor and ambiance here fit the name. It is dark and a little creepy. You have to go to the bar to order drinks or food and then get the bartenders attention. Service was a bit slow even though there was only 1 other table of people there. They have a decent appetizer selection but nothing really wowed me. We got the fried cheese curds made with Beecher's and it didn't taste like much at all. The po boy sliders were all bread and used small shrimps. Overall, I felt we over paid for what we were served.

This place is always a go-to when i have friends or family visiting from out of town. It feels like a secret gem among gems (casco antiguo is down the alley, the oldest bar in the city is also within a minute walking). Their food has been amazing every time we've eaten there. The staff is very friendly. The drinks are great. And if you time it right, you can eavesdrop on a tour and learn some history about the place. Love it.

Cool spot. Glad we stopped in for a drink and a appetizer. The cheese curds were light and crispy and served with honey, so good! Our server was awesome and we even got a free ghost tour from the tour that stopped in while we were there. Overall a great experience.

Nope. Figured I would give it a shot. I sat at the bar for ten minutes and watched a young lady running drinks back and forth to the tables. Asked another guy at the bar if I needed to flag her down or if there was a bartender. They said there was a bartender but they hadn't seen him in a while and he wasn't very at his job anyway. Great. I moved out to a table to see if I could get a beer that way. The young lady started running both the bar and the tables, so I waited another five minutes and walked out.
