From the outside it's a seedy divey place, that may discourage many. But don't be fooled by the sight or roadside location. Robert has done a phenomenal job making up for what's pretty and unnecessary outside with what he is serving on the menu. When walking in, you enter through a narrow hallway to either side. The right with a bar and the left the dining room. This little space is configured to host quite a few for the evening! The space is large. The decor is similar. The wine list is great. The menu changes all the time! You won't be disappointed as there is something for everyone and when he runs out, that's it for the night! Everyone should support a small business like this, not only to keep their doors open, but because they don't get recognized enough for their contributions to our happiness!Cheers to you Robert for leaving the hustle and bustle, coming back to your roots, combining fresh ingredients, humor, a great wine list for a phenomenal night out!

Decided on The Tasting Room in Smyrna for dinner, walked in and Robert (owner) is there and he brings me over to Ashley who gets me seated, some water, and an Aviation cocktail. Ashley took time to review the specials for the night along with some menu changes. I started out with the Pot Stickers, a Wedge Salad, and a tasting of Duck, Pork Tenderloin, and Chicken Marsala with Potato Wedges and Honey Bourbon Carrots. I love how you can do small portions and mix them together into a wonderful meal. The Pot Stickers were tender inside and crispy on the outside. The dipping sauce a bit different than I am used to...a bit higher vinegar content but paired well with the dish. Love the Wedge Salad here...always fresh greens plus the blue cheese and vinaigrette dressing makes you want to lick the dish. The three tastings...PERFECT, PERFECT, and PERFECT. Seriously...each taste was perfectly cooked, tender, seasoned well, and absolutely delicious. IMHO...Robert makes some of the best Chicken Marsala and the duck with the BBQ sauce is a real treat. The sauces he uses with each dish, like the Raspberry and Apricot Sauce with the pork tenderloin really enhance each other. Service from Ashley was awesome, very attentive, such a beautiful smile, and took great care of me. Stay tuned...Robert is planning a revamp of his menu and I can't wait to see what he comes up with.

My family went here Saturday night to celebrate my granddaughter graduating to 7th grade. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. From the stuffed mushrooms. Wedge Salad awesome, many tastings and asparagus. Strawberry Cheesecake - everything was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was lovely and explained everything and was very efficient. I can't say enough about this place. It's nice tohave a Fine Dining Restaurant in Smyrna. The chef came out to say "hi" too. My son and his wife eat here often and think it's better than Ruth Crist in Nashville. This should definitely be a Five Star rating now! The Atwood Family

I've been wanting to try The Tasting Room for a while now and finally we made it happen this evening! Fantastic food, great people who run the establishment, service is impeccable. Can I say again how AMAZING the food is? The price point is right where it should be and not overpriced in any way. I highly recommend the tasting menu and choosing 2 or 3 different items. The shrimp pasta .... so. good. The Banana's Foster dessert..... makes my mouth water thinking about it. Everything we had was fantastic, not one complaint. Overall I chose their soup of the day which was some of the best I've ever had (corn chowder), followed by the tasting menu of Chicken Marsala, Shrimp Pasta and Sauteed Cabbage. SO DANG GOOD. Then dessert of course. My man chose everything the same as me but add the pork tenderloin and brussel sprouts. Also, amazing! If you are truly into great food...... do yourself a favor and check them out. We will be back soon!!

This is a five star experience, but some of the dishes needed to be elevated. The staff especially Wayne (once he got warmed up) were great. I would suggest two things: One do not be in a hurry when going here- be ready for the experience. Two try to preview the menu before you come. There is a lot here from food and drinks so it can be a bit overwhelming.Bread is on the house it is good- nothing spectacular. We started with the Tuna / Edamame and the Button Mushrooms with Wagu Beef. I had a 2oz of the Chardonnay with apps. The tuna was good the sauce was a nice touch.TBE mushrooms were good, but it needed a sauce or something to take it up a notch. My Brie salad was very tasty, the cherry dressing along with all the other contents was great. I feel like the apples could have been bigger bc they were all in the bottom. On to the main course, I will say we were there during the Wednesday night Wine tasting. I do feel like that is why the entrees came cold. We did not mention it bc it was a long wait time and they forgot the salads, so we had those after. (They did not charge us for the salads bc of the mix up.)The Chicken Marsala was good. The cream spinach was delicious lots of levels of flavor. The Mahi Mahi was super fishy and the sauce with craisins had potential, but is was very watery. The carrots would have been excellent if they were warms. I had a 4oz Moscato with dinner. Now the desserts. If you only wanted to go for desserts and wine that would be an excellent experience! The chocolate torte was delicious not super heavy, but packed with flavor. The crème brûlée was equally excellent! The Japanese Drink that Wayne recommended was a great paring. Overall tons of fun and I will definitely go back.

This place is amazing!! You need to come! Our server was fantastic and super knowledgeable about the menu. The food tasted great and it was so fun to try different things. My boyfriend and I each got 4 different tastings. The duck was my favorite but they were all delicious. The ambience is nice and our server told us they are remodeling to make it even nicer. As we were leaving we went to checkout the bar area and the owner/chef was in there and we chatted with him a bit. He was super nice and told us more about the upcoming renovations. We can't wait to go back!

I really wanted to like this place but our service last night from a young female server was really poor. We came here for the wine and food. She was able to articulate the food but doesn't know anything about the wine. I think for a place like this, all servers should be trained and educated on the wines. I asked about recommendations, she had none. I asked about the Malbec and she said that's one of their popular Malbec but they only had 1 on the menu so I asked if they have others and she said the menu has not been updated (huh?). Anyway, we ordered the Schooners Voyage 11 by Caymus which was fantastic by the way. We ordered a lot of food. Charcuterie board (pretty good), quail (good), pear salad (good), corn chowder soup (very good), full steak (very good), lobster tail as an add on which was so small and disappointing, full pork loin (not good---too sweet, not balanced), duck (too gamey), lemon cheesecake (ok). We were not blowed away with the food and received mediocre service for a bill of $250.

Food was excellent. Went for a friend's birthday dinner. Server Avery knew her stuff regarding the food and beverage choices. Chef came over twice to check on our table. I had the Caesar salad, pork chop and glazed carrots, with Bananas Foster for dessert. Small intimate setting with great music in the background; could actually have a conversation and hear everyone at the table.

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Helpful, but not overly solicitous, Kaydee was the perfect guide to elevate our dining experience. The menu was varied with seafood, pork, chicken and red meat choices. I opted for a tasting of the mahi-mahi, Chicken Marsala, and Shrimp Pasta. The tasting portions were generous, giving me a variety of great offerings. Nice atmosphere, as well as a great wine selection. Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic experience here. The service, food, and atmosphere were all great. The pace of the experience is slow, but by design, and this was clearly communicated by our waiter. I had three great entree tastings and one that I would not get again, but I was happy to have tried it. The sides each had a unique flair and all stood out as exceptional.I loved getting to try so many unique flavors in one sitting!
