The Slide Bar

We like the ambiance of this neighborhood bar a lot! It is dark but not too loud and everyone is friendly.Surprisingly good food and drinks! The male bartender last night made awesome drinks - a prickly pear and an old fashioned! It is a good spot if you're in the area and just looking to relax.

I'm going to be as kind as I can. I used to come here many years ago, and this is the first time I came out with coworkers. Around 15 of us came on a Thursday night for drinks and laughs. The young lady behind the bar was super frazzled. We asked what was wrong, and she said she just didn't feel well. I assumed it was because she did state she usually doesn't work this shift. So some of us tried to order and noticed she was supper frazzled. She went to the restroom and never returned. This is bad, really bad. As we were all not only puzzled but freaked out that she just never returned and there were more patrons coming in. I ordered a PB whiskey, and I gave her $10. She did give me the whiskey before she left, but I never received change. I'm perplexed as this was a special. Maybe 1/2 hour later, another bartender came and took over. Hope the 1st one was okay but this was very bad to see as I think, if you can't handle customers then maybe this is not the job for you. With the new bartender here, it was good to see that he actually stated that if "you all give me a minute, I will make sure everyone is taken care of." And that he did, a little bit of a mess, but he handled the situation. I like the atmosphere, although quite bumpy at first, it proved its worth and I think I can return with confidence that it was just a one-time thing. Oh, and did I say the guiness sliders were amazing? Drinks at happy hour also, you just have to be patient. I will return and may change the score, but for now, it's a 3.

Very chill Chicago neighborhood bar. Everyone was mellow and the bartender was hilarious. Someone asked for a drink recommendation and he had a great and unusual one. We had a trans friend with us and no one made her feel weird.

Went on a Wednesday and everything was so chill. The regulars were chill, bartender was great and the cook was welcoming and brought out the food. Granted this was during a snowstorm but it was a nice bar. Also the food? Amazing. Wings slid right off the bone. I'm not even a traditional wing guy but if it was like this everywhere I would order it every day. And the sliders? So good. 100% recommend every time.

The first time I went in, this place was Nick's. Don't know what happened to Nick, but I'm thinking he wanted to Slide. Good for Nick. I ate totchos here. Yes. Totchos. Those are all the flavorings of the nacho...on tots. Taters fam. They were delicious. Drinks good, service good. Dart machine works.

Best wings in the city! The food is good but the wings are great. Great neighborhood bar! We come all the time. Fun crowd, laid back atmosphere.

Great place. Great food. Great bartenders. Any reviews you see of Carolina are soely due to her own actions. There are always 2 sides to every story, and the truth. Dont let one bad bartender and reviews from a bunch of people who havent even been here deter you. Female owned and operated.

Best wings I've ever had!! The bacon baby slider is delicious too! Quick service. All around great neighborhood bar!
