The Sicilian Baker - Peoria

After eating at the restaurant, it was only natural to peruse their Sicilian Bakery attached to the restaurant. One of the cashiers was helping the bar with drying some wine & beer glasses when they weren't busy at the bakery.Cannolis, pastries, cookies, gelato, etc. There is so much to look at.We couldn't get a cannoli because we were too full. They did look delicious and was very tempting. We settled on...LOBSTER TAIL: buttery flaky dough, nutella, or vanilla custard (5/5). Wow, this was so crispy, buttery, and flakey throughout! Each bite was crunchy. The custard cream was delightfully decadent. FLAG COOKIE: soft, fluffy almond cake layers all covered in a smooth layer of rich chocolate (3.5/5). It was good, but maybe a bit firm from the refrigeration. The best I had was in NYC.

When I tell you I felt like I was in MF'n ITALY......OMG OMGLETS START WITH 02/10/2024.. since watching cooking boss on TLC I have always wanted to try a Lobster Tail filled with vanilla -whatever ( I didn't k is what the filling was I just knew they always said it was vanilla something).. I googled lobster tail dessert and this Sicilian bakery popped up.. so yes I drove from Avondale to Peoria to try this magical Lobster Tail but when I walked in..... the presentation alone blew me away! It blew me away so much that it went from a lobster tail to one each of EVERYTHING! Because my funds had an attitude and was on strike for the moment I purchased Two Vanilla Lobster Tails and a Spo-something plus a mini Cannoli and went home... now the Spa-? Was actually a Sfogliatella and that was the first time I ever heard of it let alone eat it plus that was my first time for ANY OF THESE TREATS!! This was an absolute blast, legend, magical, and any other adjectives I can't think of right now. This dessert was so good that I swore on a stack of bibles and ten white people, that I was going back as soon as they opened the next day. I studied they menu plus bragged to my daughter (after I ate my lobster tail sp? And mini cannoli) about what all they had plus thier iconic display of deliciousness! So today (02/11/2024) went and not only got dessert but thier individual lasagne dish and my daughter got the chicken parmigiana. I had to place my Togo order on the bakery side ( yea, that's how they get you) and I seen that they offer not only ice cream but different filling for your cannoli. Did I mention that they also give out free samples? LOL anyhoo, I took the pics and my daughter wanted the Cookie Butter... I tried a sample of that and had to make it two!! They can also dip your cannoli in a white chocolate dark chocolate pistachio or leave it plain. I need to show you how they filled those cannoli's all the way up! Now the food!!! Wholly Smokes!! When I tell you you can taste every ingredient I mean just that. I took it home and it was still nice and hot! I felt as if the chef was just waiting for me to come In and order my meals. I can't brag enough about this place!! The Staff is extremely helpful professional and patient. I guess they must deal with a lot of "First Timers" and it shows. They are super sweet and caring and for the young lady that thought she had Valentine's Day off... I'm sorry boo boo... I hope your man (or woman) understands as you are on the schedule and you will be working along with everyone else!! LOL LOL Again, this place is freaking awesome and amazing and the price for everything desserts or lunch/dinner is ABSOLUTELY AFFORDABLE!! They probably could charge more for the quality of ingredients they use. To see the pasta being made fresh is another AMEN to add to the story! Don't miss out.... If you watch a bunch of YouTube food videos and shows and your stuck on chefs like Laura Vitali or the Hells Kitchen man.... Come here and allow them to Blow your mind and tastebuds!! PS.... I wish I had visited the Sicilian Baker sooner. The bakery has a cute cafe look. Small cafe tables inside and out. Ambiance makes for a nice place to sit, enjoy something sweet, and catch-up with friends. Enjoy pastries, cakes, gelato and coffee. The Sicilian Baker is best know for their cannoli and lobster tails. Cannoli are available in mini and traditional sizes. They are also available in a variety of flavor combinations. Lobster tails are a crisp and flaky pastry that resembles a lobster's tail. Tails are filled with a dense cream that is similar to a thick pudding. The lobster tails weren't really my thing. My youngest loves them. Their other desserts are more to my liking. We came for the pastries. I can't wait to go back and try the gelato. Bakery goods may be ordered ahead of time. Holiday cakes may be ordered as early as late October. Unlike most bakeries, the Sicilian Baker does not open until late morning.

Excellent place to fill your spiritual dessert stomach with a treat- they have a variety of gelato flavors, cookies, cakes, and cannoli. I appreciate the staff for being so friendly and allowing our group to sample as many gelato flavors as we wanted. I sampled the Italian Espresso and immediately decided to get that one (call me a woman of caffeinated habits). Children tend to love the Italian specialty stracciatella, which they may describe as cookies and cream lol. Other options include the palate-cleansing lemon, bourbon apple crisp, and seasonal flavors depending on the moment of your visit. Prices vary by number of scoops, and for a whimsical flashback into your summer childhood you may choose a waffle cone for $1 more. The other baked goods that stood out to me were the tiramisu and cheesecake sold by the slice. A member of our party was celebrating her birthday and they gifted her a complimentary tiramisu surrounded by a rainbow road of sprinkles. Thank you for a sweet time!

That was fun! After enjoying a nice lunch at The Sicilian Butcher, we couldn't help but check out all of the great Italian goodies at The Sicilian Baker.It all looks so good! Many Gelato flavors and baked goodies galore! Hmmm, but what to get? I decided to try some cookies, so that we could take a few home to try. The fig cookies look good, the almond cookies look good and the lemon cookies look good. Which to get? And there it was on the countertop. A gift box with everything that I wanted to try and more. That's it! They are all delicious! My grandmother immigrated from Sicily and I can tell you that these are the real deal! The fig and almond cookies are very similar to what I grew up with. What a treat and a fun conclusion to a great meal at the Sicilian Butcher! Or, you could just have dessert as your main course! The Sicilian Butcher ant the Sicilian Baker is a win-win!

The tiramisu is out of this world!! I wish I would have gotten a picture but I ate it all before I even considered taking a picture!

1st timers and so glad we came. Very busy venue with nice decor, delicious food, and amazing customer service. They also have their own bakery next door that is also connected to the restaurant! Win, win all the way around.We ordered:Ceasar salad - delish and enough to feed two peopleCalamari - cooked perfectlyBread w/oil & balsamic vinegar - (not on the menu) bread was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Not hard like most places!Italian Saganaki - Cheese Lovers...MUST ORDER! Delish and presentation is a show in itself!!Truffle mushroom spaghetti pasta - Amazing! Not too overpowering with truffle flavor.Cheesecake - DelishTiramisu- DelishCannoli- goodIf in the area definitely give this spot a try! Stop by the bakery if you don't have room for dessert after eating dinner. They have tasty treats you can take home for later as well as gelato!!

I hadn't really noticed this place during my other visits. I needed to check out what they had. They carried specialty Italian desserts. Gelatos, cookies and pastries all looked wonderful. They were quite crowded having just opened. A good sign for sure.Free outdoor parking lot.

My first experience here was excellent. The girl helping us was awesome. She was super friendly and helpful (and patient) with us as we struggled to choose our cannoli fillings. They have a good selection of Italian influenced pastries. We got the napoleon. It was delicious - highly recommend. We also got a trio of the build-your-own cannolis. They have so many options it was hard to choose; but you can sample as many as you'd like to help make your decision. I recommend the Lemon, Cookie Butter, and Pecan Pie. The ambiance inside is really cute as well. The pastries can get a little pricey depending on what you choose, but the high quality justifies the value. I would return without hesitation.

Great cannolis for a great price. Came in for dessert and it did not disappoint. I love the create your own cannoli. They let you choose two flavors which is also nice. Cookie butter filling was amazing! Service was great. The line was a little confusing but the employees did a great job of helping people in order.
