The SandBar & Grill

First timers, sat at the bar, bartender was super friendly and accommodating! We came in around 11 on Sunday. We got crab cakes, prime rib dip, and a burger. Crab cakes were crispy on the outside and flakey with crab on the inside. Whatever the dipping sauce that came with it is, was chefs kiss delicious. Prime rib dip was juicy and the horseradish Mayo was a perfect compliment. Hubs dug in on his cheese burger. It was also perfectly cooked. Taps for draft are pretty cool looking and barstools were comfy. Bar is big and we love that we can bring kids in too. We are planning to come back and watch a game on the projector big screen.

Service was slow with hardly any people there but very friendly. Food was terrible!. I think Dennys might have actually been better and I haven't eaten Dennys in 20 years when you only went because you were drunk and didn't care how the food tasted.

Checking out the new location with the family. Menu hasn't changed much, and the staff was friendly as always. The main dining room was closed tonight (not busy enough), but it worked out as kids can sit in the bar area until 8pm.

Stopped by for the first time since the new location opened and it was great! The hummus was delicious and the pizza was so good!! If you're stopping by, you definitely need to try any of their pizzas. It is a super fun space and our server was so kind! Will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely love this place. I take everyone I can to this hidden gem and sometimes just go hang out.

Owned and operated by the same folks who own the Brown's Point Diner, they bought and opened The Sandbar & Grill while renovations were taking place at the Brown's Point Diner. I'm super happy to see that the Olde Shipwreck tavern has been restored and is being used as the Sandbar now. They've really given the place a facelift and has a huge bar and an even bigger restaurant. All of the great food from Brown's point is on their menu still and we've never been disappointed with any of it. Having this location makes it more convenient for many people to visit and enjoy and I hope that it brings in many new regular customers and big profits for this small mom and pop that has been taking care of folks very well for many years in Brown's Point! Situated on scenic Marine View Drive is The SandBar and Grill at 1941 Marine View Drive.Newly opened August 4th, 2023 it offers those enjoying a scenic, historic drive on old highway 509 between Seattle and Tacoma and those that live and work between Federal Way and Tacoma a nice dining experience and a weekend hotspot for others. Surrounded by large screen TVs it gets packed for sporting events so get your seat early. I stopped in for a test of their chicken friend steak and eggs as well as their buffalo wings and was not disappointed. The steak was fork ready and the sausage gravy was top notch and the wings are large and tasty.I will be going there again soon for the next Seahawks game. So I went here for the first time on a band night. And I will say that the atmosphere is stellar. The bar was full and we had a large group. They were happy to set us in the dining room side. No loss there. First and foremost. Parking that night was nonexistent. I hat to double parked behind the coffee stand because the other car was facing the other way. The food was tasty. Drinks were quick and cocktails were good. It was hot it was timely and the portions were very satisfying. I don't think anyone left hungry or disappointed with the quality of our meal. The service was good but because the bar was popping I feel we were forgotten. The guy who brought out the food in the first round was gruff like "this isn't my table or my job but I'm here." Grace on the other hand was an absolute gem. Our only real complaint of the night was sauce. After the grumpy guy left we were all half done with our meal before anyone came to check on us. There was no sauce. No catchup or ranch was brought with any of the meals. And they all had fries. I was done with my sandwich before anything ever arrived. I get that it was a busy night but why wasn't any of this on the table? Will I return. Probably. My Rubin sandwich was fantastic. And my wife said the BLT was one of the best she's ever had. But everyone at my table made comments about the lack of condiments.

service is markedly better than the food, bummer about that. on the plus side there's supposed to be a new guy running back of the house and making changes but that doesn't really help me out today... :-(so it's cold and wet and blowy and I've got several hours until race time so how about lunch? sitting at the bar as a solo so the waitress hands me off and puts on a fresh pot for coffee. I decided on fish and chips after a quick look at the menu and write a couple postcards while I wait.being literally surrounded by water on all sides including up I really expected way more fish on my plate; seriously, between the rivers, lakes, and the ocean there's gotta be more fishes somewhere. also, the cross sectional area of a chip should be closer to a third of a square inch than 1/16 (that's totally a fry.) and please do something about the slaw...

This place has the best tasting BBQ sauce I've ever had. Order the BBQ chicken wings. You won't regret it!
