The Rex

I have driven by the Rex and Taco Tuesday sign lured my famished soul in on a Tuesday! It appears, it is a specialty/convenient store, a bar, and a cafe. Interesting mix and layout. They have local microbrews on tap so I ordered a beer and a beef taco, which for 7 dollars, seemed expensive. Until it came out! It was a soft taco that requires two hands and a few napkins, or a fork to eat. I almost ordered two but I am glad I only ordered one because it was filling. The taco sauce included is what I'd call an old school taco sauce to go with an old school American taco. I would not say it was the best old school soft taco I've had, but it was good. Overall, the feel of the place was great and friendly and someplace I plan to stop at again!

Great food, fun place. Taco Tuesdays are wonderful.It's such a fun unexpected place to visit. Outdoor patio is really nice for warmer months. Staff is great.

I stopped in for lunch on a weekday road trip through Fir Island - really good solid sandwich that comes with a pickle and coleslaw too. A nice big slice of carrot cake; they had lots of homemade baked goods including fresh pies. Nice selection of drinks and apparently beers tI'm glad I was hungry enough that I stopped here before getting into La Conner. Pandemic situation - There's a big outdoor eating area - both covered patio and sunny patio. Owners wore masks and gloves and were super friendly and food was prepared fast

Our most favorite and go to restaurant near where we live. Funky setting, super casual. Wes the chef and owner makes the best burgers on the weekend. Taco Tuesday is a must visit. Prices very reasonable Kari is the bestest waitress. Her carrot cake is nirvana Zoe and Liz work less often but are nonetheless outstanding Give the Rex a try

This is a very fun place to stop for a drink on the way to La Conner, to meet a large group of friends or attend a fun event. Very friendly, funny and inviting staff. It's a very fun atmosphere with good food and good drinks. It's also a bottle shop and they sell some awesome home baked goods too. We'll be sure to stop in here more often.

Went with the appetizer burger and look, Monzarella sticks and onion rings are meant to be on cheeseburgers. I didnt know this my entire life. Now I know and it will never be the same. Ruined for all other burgers. The hubs went with the Kevin Funk Burger, and again so so goooood!! Eggs make burgers epic. This is such a cool spot with fantastic service, home made baked goods and relaxing outdoor space that is dog friendly. The Rex has taken Taco Tuesday to a new level. Their tacos are made with 8 inch tortillas, with fresh lettuce, tomato's, red onion & shredded pork. This restaurant changed hands a number of years ago and the current staff has taken it to a new level.

My wife and I spent some time in LaConner and stopped at the Rex for lunch. It is a great place to eat and drink. There are several different seating areas at their large facility, each with its own character. The food was great and the service very friendly. We will return to this great spot.

We stopped for lunch- had the Thursday fish and c hips special and the Rex Special (turkey with cranberry sauce) sandwich. Both were very good somewhere between reasonably and generously sized. Their carrot cake is great. The staff is experienced and helpful. We'll definitely do back the next time we're up that way.

Killer sandwiches and nice waitstaff. Eating outside is great but road noise is awful so try getting in their undercover area and not the patio. Try their BLTA...yum!
