Tried The Remy for the first time this evening. The place has a bit of a western theme with an upscale twist! SERVICE: Very attentive and very helpful staff. Everyone was friendly and quick. My water was always full and they checked on me often.FOOD: I tried the pork chop and the tuna tostada. Both very tasty! (Sorry I don't have the actual name of the pork chop dish - it was newer on the menu)If you are in the hotel circle area, this is a must try place!!

Great atmosphere, wonderful customer service. Very accommodating to military. Had the tomahawk steak. Cooked perfect, the mashed potatoes was the best, presentation 10/10.I wasn't too impressed with the Wagyu. Little cold and once you had it in Japan it's never the same though. Dijobu. Overall 4/5 can always get better.Def. Top 5 in San Diego. The appetizers: shrimp cocktail was the best, plum shrimp. Ceasar salad was very good. Traditionally made. The steak tartar was an acquired taste. I enjoyed it without the brown crisps. Could be done better with a vegetable pairing. Thanks

Second time here, and they've updated the menu. Great little spot in a very busy part of town. Feels like a romantic hideaway...very rustic and comfortable. One of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. True class. Greeter was a little flat on affect, wait staff is very attentive. The food...is good. We tried the new iteration of the beef tartare hoping it was a little better than it was beforehand (I wasn't elated about it). It was served on a flat piece of dough that was difficult to cut. It was sold as something a little more flaky like wellingtonish but tasted great. Smashburger was on the happy hour menu and was delicious. Cornish game hen was tender, juicy, and if you used the rosemary to brush the sauce on it was an out of this world flavor bomb. Overall another great trip here. Will be back again soon. Check out their happy hour!

Came here for the first time for a friends birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and seated very quickly. The inside is gorgeous and quiet the upgrade from the last place. I love the country them paired with elegance. Our waiter was wonderful and we were worried that the table was going to be too small for our group and they happily added another table even with pending reservations and said we will make it work. That was great customer service. Now lets talk about the drinks and food. The whole table was a fan of the Dirty Shirley's and I have to admit, it was the best DS I have ever had. The Martini was delicious too with a horseradish blue cheese olive. The expresso martinis were also yummy. We started out with a dozen of their oysters and they were good quality and yummy. We shared the mac and cheese which again was great. For our main courses we had a Wagyu Ribeye, Scallops, Skirt Steak, and Lamb Chops. The menu is packed with food that I want to try especially the Seafood Platter. I will definitely be back and highly recommend trying this place out if you are looking for a good steak house.

Great happy hour! They have two bars you can choose from, one upstairs if you want more daylight and one downstairs that is beautiful and has the dark cocktail bar vibe. We ordered the tuna tostadas , wagyu smash burger, and the 4 oz steak and frites. Everything was rly good! The service was great too. We'll definitely be back

3.5 stars...Been trying to get over to this joint for awhile, and then we just took the plunge!Great wine and local beer selection as well as a full bar, so I chose a draft and my bride a cocktail. We ordered a wedge to split... great trimmings and portion! Cool, crisp, creamy goodness with a bit of pungent blue cheese.Next we decided on the waygu option... tender meat over mashed potatoes and blanched veg...Rounded out the meal with a s'mores sundae... gooey, marshmalloey, sweet chocolate goodness.Ambiance is upscale buckaroo, service was prompt and friendly, and prices are somewhat high for this locale...Not sure we will come here regularly because I cook my own steaks at home, but might pop in for the happy hour now and again.

I remember this venue tucked away at the west end of Mission Valley as the Hungry Hunter. It was there for years and years. Accordingly, when I heard there was a new restaurant in the location called "The Remy", I was curious. The parking in front of the restaurant remains the same, and there are two or three handicapped spaces available. The front door of the restaurant is large and imposing, but it opened easily. When I walked in at 5:30 pm, the reception desk was unoccupied. When the host arrived, he walked me to the stairs to ascend to an upper dining room. I shook my head and stated I preferred to sit in the bar room, which has the nicest décor. For the wine, I selected a 2019 Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon. As to the meal, I ordered a tomato and fennel soup, after which I selected a New York Steak. Pleasant service.

We enjoy the Remy as a place to stop on the way home from work. The staff is usually very friendly, and their cocktail selections are vast. They make a mean Lemon Drop and Manhattan--just the right amount of chill (for me, that is very chilly!). The steaks are delicious, and the vibe is always chill and relaxed. I can tell they have their regulars, and we may be on our way to being one of them.

So love everything about this place, but the food was a bit off. The bar is amazing, long, white chairs, definitely want to come back and sit there. The service was very good, the server was attentive and friendly. The drinks were yummy, we ordered a dirty martini, which had a twist. instead of olive juice it has artichoke brine. It was actually very good, we enjoyed it.We ordered oysters and all but the last couple were fresh, the last couple had a fishy taste, that did not go down so well. The duck confit was very good, but needed a little salt. The scallops had a fried something as garnish and that was way over salted. So, the chef might have been off a little that night.I would like to go back again and try some other dishes and definitely sit at the bar. It is a bit noisy in the restaurant, so if you want to have an intimate conversation, it might not be the best place.
