The Region

Went here on a Monday during the lunch rush and I believe the owner was doing everything (cooking, taking and running orders, milkshake) on his own! The service was amazing and the food was great. I would add a picture of the burger but I ate it too quickly. Definitely recommend!

The burgers here are great, unique and absolutely fantastic smash burgers done right. The fries are delicious, old school taste and the milkshakes are solid too. Also got the patty melt and that was delicious as well. Will definitely be going back soon.

After seeing the region on Chicago's best I had to give it a try. I will say the overall burger was very tasty. I do think the price was a bit much considering everything. The onion rings were really good. I will say give the region a try if you want a decent burger!

A classic, greasy burger joint. The Region has a lot of hype, so I had high expectations going in. I should have done a little more research, because I didn't realize it was SO casual. It's an order at the counter type of place with a very limited menu. We were able to snag seats on the small patio and wait for the food. We went simple with two cheeseburgers and fries and sipped on canned root beer while we waited. The 7 ounce burger is served with with onion, relish, and Region sauce -- which was very delicious! It's definitely a smashburger, the burger was about twice the size of the bun! It was a little difficult to eat but tasted yummy. The fries were crispy but really small pieces, I'm thinking maybe we got the bottom of the fryer basket!I did try to order a water but was told they were out, which was kind of unusual...lol! It seemed to be a one-man show, so I did feel for the staff member who was taking orders, clearing tables, and serving food. Decent experience overall! The prices are high for what you're getting, but the food is good!

This corner spot doesn't look like much but the proof is in the pudding so to speak. The Region has n Roscoe Village was a planned stop in search or great smash burgers. The kind where the burger of thin and with crispy edges. Hard to find a good smash burger. It's a simple shop with limited but solid offerings. Surprisingly reasonable prices as well. Not to mention a nice street side patio to chill on. My buddy and I both had the double smash burger and a side of fries. The burger takes a few minutes but is well worth it! It stands up to any smash burger in town. Thin seasoned well and crisp around the edges. Their smash burger sauce has a distinct really savory flavor. It's not huge but it doesn't need to be as good as it is. The fries are fresh and not greasy. Fried perfectly fine well and crisp. Hats off to the grill man who makes excellent burgers while holding down the fort all on his own. Try them out you won't be disappointed.

This place is TINY, however, they also have outdoor seating. Honestly. It doesn't scream CLEAN. It's quite pricey but I always say... I'm willing to pay good money for good food.And the service wA very cool. We ordered three burgers and a two milkshakes and paid over $80. But it was constantly busy so they must be doing something right. I got a patty melt with an egg on top. Omgoodness. SO good. It says online that the milkshakes are share size. They are NOT. If everybody in your group wants a milkshake, trust me, order your own. Street parking but I don't think we had to pay. And they do have a very small bathroom.

I was recommended this place and I prefer a burger patty on the thinner side and this hit the spot! A really good smash burger! The toppings are simple, bun was soft, I would give it a 4.5/5 but the fries were not as good. Maybe a 3/5? They were out of onion rings when I went (around 3pm on a Thursday) but I would have loved to try them. Single cheeseburger, small fries and a coke for 19$.Overall, worth the try.

Good burgers, tiny place, could be be cleaner. They do have great milk shakes. During the the summer they do have outdoor seating.

Very decent burgers for when you crave a solid no questions asked burger. Kind of a splurge, but for a semi-special occasion at home, go for it.

I've been meaning to go to The Region for a while after seeing them on Channel 9 burger contest and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered "The Double Regionette" 2 double cheeseburgers with onion, relish, and Region sauce with fries. The double cheeseburger with crispy fries will definitely fill up. It's a small place but people move in and out so there should be no problem finding a seat, outside seating weather permitting. They have a good system, and they get you served in no time. Street parking is no problem, and the Damen bus is a little over a block away.
