The press room was a fun experience. We went here for an office happy hour and loved our time here. The happy hour is a really good bang for your buck. We tried the filthy martini, the coconut cafe, the modelo negroni and the old fashioned for our cocktails. All of them were really good. For the apps, we tried the avocado hummus, patatas bravas and the burrata. The food was great but the portion sizes were really small. Remember to order up.The service was great though, the servers were friendly, kept checking in on us, and were very hospitable. The ambience was really cozy. The place was dimly lit with Victorian candlelabras at each table. Really enjoyed the experience at the Press room and I'd highly recommend this place.

Don't go for happy hour. The only good thing about this place is the quality/taste of their cocktails. Otherwise, a big disappointment. Here's the rundown of our experience: - Service was incredibly slow. Had to get up and ask for the check in the end. - Oysters were served lukewarm. Probably not a food safety level issue but certainly doesn't make them very enticing. - Charcuterie was 1) extremely small for the price 2) low quality cheese and meat and 3) also served awkwardly warm - the cheese even had a hard dry skin on it like it had been on a cheese plate in the sunshine for an hour before getting to our table. - they also charge a credit card fee, which is just kinda annoying for such an established place in west loop. I'd be fine with that at a small hole in the wall place or a mom and pop shop but seems excessive for a place like the press room. -

Cute spot in West Loop! Came in on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. Got the De La Sol and the Blue Magic - both were good. De La Sol was pretty strong but pretty refreshing and the Blue Magic had a unique flavor - the bourbon wasn't super strong which I appreciated. For food we got the Burrata and Bang Bang noodles to share. The burrata was lovely but wish they gave more bread and I wasn't a huge fan of the noodles - they were really thick and felt more like a salad with some noodles. Overall a nice spot, would come back for drinks!!

Came here for a happy hour with some buddies. The service is fantastic, very nice staff and always willing to help. The atmosphere is dark and sexy, with a decent music selection. Although their happy hour is good, this probably wouldnt be the spot I come with coworkers because of the romantic vibes (but might just be me). The $1 oysters were great - they were east coast but a little plumper than I prefer. Either way the taste, and the hot sauce was on point. We all had the old fashioned's - fantastic. Not overly sweet and liquor forward just like I prefer. 1 star lost only because after being there for about an hour the place started having a heavy kitchen smell that soaked into our clothes. Will definitely come back and try the bang bang noodles everyone is raving about.

Very nice unique atmosphere with real candles burning everywhere including the entrance door. Happy hour specials are small oysters on a bed of large salt crystals for $1 each and some drinks are $8 and some other apps are a good deal like a $14 burrata w baba ganoush is very good. It's in the basement right under a huge hair salon in the heart of west loop. It's dark and candle lit and romantic. Overall a very beautiful experience! Happy hour Oysters are $1 an oyster Tuesday to Thursday 4-6pm. Great deal!

The press room is a speakeasy in the west loop. It's a great place to go for drinks. It was my first time there and I want to try something new. This is a place you probably would need reservations for but I went and it wasn't super busy without a reservation me and my friend was able to add a table and not the bar. Because it is a hidden gem a real small speakeasy. It was very dark in there but it didn't bother me. They have really good drinks. Their food is Shareables a small plate but me my friend got our own food and we both got the bang bang noodles and my friend got oysters as well. The waitress was very nice since our bang bang noodles was super spicy he gave us a cucumber drink to help soothe it down

Came here for happy hour!!!! Ordered their dollar oysters and a cocktail for 8$. The service was great and the room itself was dark and cozy. A great place to cool off since it was a hot when we went. I would definitely come back here. Plus they were nice enough for me to use one of their sockets to charge.

Went for happy hour and dinner. We ordered the raw oysters, burrata, and bang bang noodles. The ambience and space were cool. Cocktails were good. Service was fine. But the food was disappointing. Burrata was overly salty and unbalanced. Bang bang noodles had a good chewy texture but were salty yet lacking in flavor, and with undercooked cabbage. It really was strange and one of the worst noodle dishes I've ever had. Oysters were good but slightly frozen, and the mignonette was bland. I was really annoyed that we spent $88 for 2 cocktails and some very untasty food.

Terrible spot. We waited 2o min for a drink order then the server forgot to put the order in. After about another 30 min, he came back to tell us he forgot our order. There are so many better options within a short walk. Don't waste your time on this one.

Very cute interior - 1920s speakeasy theme. Seems like a popular date spot for good reason!Drinks - very good! The stoned amaretto sour was well balanced and on the sweeter side and the blue magic was fruity and fresh. Food - a little disappointing! We got the burrata and bang bang noodles to share. The burrata was nice and paired well with the eggplant. The noodles however were too thick and chewy and the toppings and sauce were kind of scant. Not worth the price in my opinion.
