The Pizza Standard

Fantastic pizza close to work that I must keep experiencing again!! I came here with some friends at Karen N's UYE like more than a year ago on an impromptu visit since the other place was closed on Sundays. The lady and I just did the slice thing and were impressed right away. The selection was not huge, but they had about 5 or 6 when we came. Wow, I couldn't have imagined it much better, so tasty and flawless! The truffle mushroom is a must, which all who ordered it loved in our small group. We happened to drop in close to Cinco de Mayo and they had an enchilada slice featured. This is what the lady ordered and she loved it! I had to try a bite, then it was instantly snatched out of my hands..We raved at the counter guy about it, and he said it was a seasonal thing that they tried.We suggested it should be at the very least on some type of rotation with other unique creations. I think I mentioned they should do a "slice of the month" option. I just returned with the wife recently and we were pleasantly delighted again! 2 new slices we hadn't tried. Oh and forgot that Rumchata cake was also delicious, and we actually scored the last slice! That was the first visit. Another seasonal choice that I would love to see back. And I wonder, what do they have now? See? I need to go back...

Round two we were generously given the opportunity to try the truffle pizza at the owners suggestion. We added olives and had it slightly well done. And, it was suggested we try the home made Cesar dressing to dip the crust in. The dressing was amazing, nice and creamy! (Dad happily slathered it over the crust!)Well, for the first time in a while all three of us enjoyed the pizza - we agreed! "Nice blend of flavors", "great sauce" are quotes from my folks.After my last experience, the owner actually reached out to me because they care about making sure every customer is happy. I was really impressed they cared as much as they did. It's a wonderful small business. That is well loved by the community.Given this great experience, and very friendly staff, I've changed my rating for this location. Now I know how to order pizza from this location! (And dad will always want the dressing! lol)

Shoutout New York pizza This place was pretty good, pizza was flavorful, sauce wasn't overbearing, very crispy, and toppings were great. Tiramisu was OK kinda soggy but decent.Made the mistake of buying 3 slices straight up instead of ordering as I finished eating, the heat from the oven really makes it so much better. I feel like the pizza would've been a lot better if we bought a whole pie vs just the slices. Service was good! They delivered our food to our table and they have condiments on the side.The interior is pretty vibey, with some funny drawings on the wall, made the very short wait for the food interesting.

Great quality, great quantity, great value.The Cheesy Bread here will not disappoint you if you want something to throw on the side to split with a small group (2-8 people)!Stopped by here with a friend for a last second dinner. The restaurant has a very casual aesthetic and up-front is a display case showing the six pizzas they have available immediately. Their menu also features some other specialty pizzas, a build-your-own pizza option, along with appetizers, and drinks. My friend and I didn't feel like taking too much time to decide or wait on a fresh pizza to be made so we ordered the following from the display case.Deluxe White: Light, zesty, fluffy, crispy. For $4, I got a giant slice of pizza featuring three cheeses and a nice creamy artichoke spread topped with most notably sausage, pickled onions, and some chili. The ricotta was the most standout of the three cheeses and each bite that had ricotta felt like I was eating the fluffiest lightest cheese ever. It was so tasty and was fulfilling but not heavy and filling. I was also able to pick up on the lemon zest which paired well with the pickled onion to add a nice subtle snap to your bite. Although I noticed the chili on the slice, I didn't really taste it, so if you're worried about spice then this shouldn't be a problem. This was overall my favorite pizza and I could definitely see myself going back for a couple more of just the Deluxe White.Truffle Mushroom: Mellow, light, plain. For $4, I got a nice slice featuring marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, mushroom, and truffle salt. When eating this pizza, I honestly didn't really think too much of it. It tasted like a regular cheese pizza with some mushroom on top. I was expecting more from the "double mushroom" and truffle salt listed on the menu, but the mushroom was honestly quite tame and unremarkable. I still enjoyed this pizza and think this is a great option for someone who wants more of a "normal" tasting pizza which a subtle twist.Chicken Parm: Tomatoey, saucy, heavy. For $5 I got a slice of pizza featuring marinara sauce, chicken, mozzarella, and spinach. This pizza felt like I was eating lasagna on a slice. The marinara sauce had an extremely strong presence in the taste and I could hardly notice the chicken or spinach. Although I wasn't disappointed since it basically hit every expectation I had for a chicken parm slice, I also wasn't very impressed by this one. This was my least favorite of the three pizzas I got.Cheesy Bread: Cheesy, garlicky, buttery, airy. This item felt like eating the most perfect garlic bread in existence. When my friend and I ordered this, we expected some Little Caesar styled bread sticks but we were pleasantly surprised by what was essentially a garlic cheese pizza. The cheesy bread was an absolute pleasure to eat and it had the perfect combination of butter, cheese, and garlic and the airy-ness of the bread helped us not feel so heavy when eating this. This would be my favorite item if it were not for how impressed I was with the Deluxe Cheese.The staff were straight to the point and friendly with small requests. They had great recommendations and were honest with what might be too much to order and what we should get more of. The value is insane at this store and I still cant believe the amount of food and the quality of it I was able to get for only $4 a slice. I will definitely be coming back to try the Cheese Pizza and the Margarita Pizza from the display case.

What big chains can never be! This is one of those places that just nails it. Nothing to look at and the people are chill. But the pizza is sooooo good! The prices are great and they have a great selection of drinks. The $25 is HUGE. The dough is made fresh everyday.

Going to keep the 5 star reviews rolling! Looking for that perfect pizza place? Come here! We were wanting to check out a new pizza joint, and this was not too far away. Their near perfect reviews sold us and we had to try it for ourselves. Thin crust pizza lovers, you won't be disappointed! I'm always looking for that perfectly thin crispy cracker crunch crust! I have yet to find it locally (my heart is in Rome for this!) but Pizza Standard has my heart for now! I'm always skeptical about trying a new pizza place cause, it's hard to find a place where I love everything about the pizza! We have been here a few times now, but they won me over the very first visit! The pizza was better than expected and was absolutely delish! The best part? They made it exactly the way I wanted it! We decided to build our own pizza, on the bottom, half marinara sauce and half garlic sauce. The toppings: pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions and olives! Must have olives! They have something similar to this, the Works but no olives! Now...all the ingredients I wanted would've made for a ridiculous salty pizza and I was warned! But the pizza maker said he could make it happen by balancing all the ingredients I wanted and it turned out amazing! They don't have a huge dining area inside. None on the outside, so you can't come here with a kids soccer team celebrating. A small hand wash sink in the dining area and usually a line out the door!I like that they sell pizza by the slice which is great if you don't want a whole pizza or just want to try something different each time you visit. One visit we tried a couple slices, the delux white and pepperoni. The delux was delicious! In the cooler there's a selection of beer, sodas and Italian drinks and dessert... well just tiramisu. Holy cow - this might be the biggest contender for best pizza in SD, competing with my fave Bronx. For only $3, I got a slice of the pepperoni pizzas (speciality pizzas were only $4) and already I knew the pizza was going to be amazing based on the oils pooling inside the pepperoni cups. It had the perfectly crispy crust and the pepperoni was divine esp the parts that were a bit more charred. I really also liked the sauce flavor and the ratio of sauce to cheese!I would say as a spice lover, I would love to see more sliced with jalapenos on it although I think some slices rotate daily.

We've been meaning to try this place for a while. It's fairly close to home. Phone ordering was easy and we were given a 30 minute pick up time. Stan was happy to customize our pizzas. When we arrived 30 minutes later the pizzas were just coming out of the oven. The shop is small, in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Both pizzas were delicious, good crust, sauce, and tasty toppings! Nice to have a place the BF likes nearby!

We have been getting pizza here since we moved and have loved it. We received our pizza today with a hole in it and a fantastic note on the inside, and it made my day with how funny it was and the added goodies they didn't need to give us.
