The Pig’s Gig BBQ

Affordable bbq and delicious bbq in San Diego? Yes please! My bf and I were shook by the prices at this place, in a good way. Bbq places can get so expensive, the prices here were great and had incredible specials. The pulled pork sandwiches we got were 2 for $20! And they don't skimp out on the pork. It was delicious, melt in your mouth, with a tangy bbq sauce that balanced the pork well. Will definitely be trying their other cuts, they have an incredible $30 2-person family dinner special that seems too good to be true.

My daughter who lives in Seattle was in the San Diego area so we thought we would leave the comfort of the IE meet her for lunch. She suggested Liberty Park which turns out is a pretty nice place.As we were looking over the variety of food to choose from The Pigs Gig stood out. If it has Pig in the name I'm eating there.I had the 12 Hour smoked brisket sandwich. When your children get old enough to pay go big. My daughter had the Taco Trio and my wife had the BBQ chicken sandwich. We shared and everything was fantastic. After we ate we walked around Liberty Park which is easy to see was a military base back when things were built to last. its a cool place to visit. Very California. Lots of beads and art and hippy stuff.All in all Pigs Gig is a great place to eat and Liberty Park is a nice place to visit. Ones small side note if you are going to sut outside to eat the close proximity to the San Diego Air port means your conversation will be interrupted by lo flying passenger jets every 5 minutes. It all adds to the atmosphere.Highly Recommended.

This place was one of the most below mediocre spot in Liberty Market, and I came hungry. Service was prompt however. There were only a few customers on a busy day. You buy your food to-go and bring it to one of the many tables around the market. I ordered the two meat combo (brisket and chicken). For being smoked so long, both meats were incredibly dry and were barely helped by the barbecue sauce spread on top. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were nothing special either. I would be ashamed to recommend this spot to any of my friends coming into town.Would definitely not recommend this place. There are many more options out there more deserving of your appetite.

My wife and I love this place. This is our go-to spot whenever we come to Liberty Station. The bbq is phenomenal. We always get their pulled pork, but it sells our fast! So sometimes we get here late, and it's gone. We loved their pulled pork nachos.. but they no longer have it.. sad day.. so instead, we tried their family of 2 meal deal. It came with 6oz or chicken, brisket, and pulled pork (no pulled pork, so we got more chicken and brisket). 2 sides, tortillas and pickled onion, and jalapeños. All for about $32. We were definitely satisfied and had more to take home! The bbq sauce is super tasty, a little tangy, and a little sweet. It works very well with the meat. We also got fries and baked beans for the side. Fries came piping hot, and the beans were great. They were a little spicy and had a little bit of jalapeños in it. We love this place and will definitely come back and get this going forward.

Tried this place on my first trip to Liberty station food hall.Service was fine. Food-wise..Not impressed. Potato salad just tasted like mustard galore. Brisket was dry and bland. Sausage was okay. Mac n cheese was mediocre. Would not recommend or return.

I love the Liberty Station Public Market and all the dining options. Someone recommended this BBQ place so we tried it out.I liked my brisket taco. My mac n cheese was just okay. My friend thought the brisket was a bit fatty, liked the sausage and the beans just okay. The potato salad was very good.I think the refillable sodas were less than $2 (Coke products).Prices (other than the soda) were not cheap but were in line with BBQ prices. Service was friendly and efficient.

I really wanted to try the brisket but they were sold out of it and chicken by 6pm. The bbq sauce tasted a lot like a tomato base not so much like bbq sauce. Not my favorite but the pork was tender and juicy so I could get past the bbq sauce issue. I wish the chips were homemade. They definitely had a store bought corn chip taste. Nothing that stood out from the nachos that would make me want to order them again. $25 for nachos and a fountain drink.

Maybe the best brisket I've ever had, I'm not religious but brisket like this may be proof that there's a loving god. To the punk that left three stars because the brisket was 'fatty', ALL BRISKET has a fat cap, usually 1/3 to 1/4 of each slice. Stupid people are hilarious. Seven stars out of a possible five, these guys doin it right, like whoa. Damn good.

Their menu is not complicated. We got the combo plate with the choice of brisket and sausage. My spouse and I shared, good for 2 people. Food- brisket is tender and juicy, on the salty side. BBQ flavor is not bad. Sausage I think is the highlight better than the brisket. Beans is also good. Potato salad is my least favorite, if there's a splash of vinegar in it ( it was a little too much) it became rancid. Price is high. If you want to give them a try I recommend you share with someone.

The food was not very tasty, I had brisket and chicken. The scratch made potato salad was Nothing to write home about. Mashed potato salad? The best part about my meal was the sprite. I was very disappointed. The gig is up...
