First of all, before we even dined here, I was corresponding with the restaurant (mostly about gluten-friendly options), and I have to say how much I appreciated their putting up with my detailed questions and handling them so accommodatingly and smoothly. Secondly, the service was warm, welcoming, and accommodating (we had a bit of an unusual request, had driven from out of town and asked to store a couple of pieces of luggage while we ate there because of the heat and not wanting to leave them in the car (hadn't checked in to the hotel yet (Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown, which I reviewed on Yelp as well)). Sorry I don't remember our server's name but she was sweet and personable and efficient and checked on us and really just on top of her game. The food - exquisite. I read good reviews on Yelp, but somehow I still wasn't expecting it to be THIS good! Talk about memorable dining experiences. Delicious chicken wings as a starter, and for the entrees, my wife enjoyed the steak Frits, perfectly executed and perfectly done to medium well. Most importantly, delicious, flavorful meat, crispy French fries, and a nice subtle au poivre sauce. Me? I had the NY Strip, served atop an amazing black garlic truffle risotto - what a great complement, the earthy flavor of the risotto a perfect match for the steak, which was again perfectly cooked to medium well (I saw a few Yelpers note their steaks were under done, but not the case for us, I mean PERFECT medium well doneness) and incredibly flavorful. And by flavorful I don't mean too salty, which some steakhouses get away with. Here at The Peppermill, it's the real deal, the flavor comes from the food, not the salt. But the accompaniment didn't end there - there was also an outstanding chimichurri - green apple poblano chimichurri to be specific. AND fried leeks. It all worked in harmony. OUTSTANDING meal. Great drinks, too!And the vibe was great, too. Classy yet casual feeling. I'll post an interior photo, you'll see. Easy parking in its strip mall. We may have to make a point of returning to Tempe solely to eat at the Peppermill. It was THAT good.

Cute little open kitchen restaurant with a pretty good menu. I had the filet, it was a tad under cooked and tough but the flavor was delicious. Service was also great, even though they were a little busy and understaffed. They never complained or impacted their service. If the filet wasn't tough and cooked the requested temp, it would easily have been a 5 star. I'll be back for sure!

Steak Fact: Steak gets its name from Scandinavia. The Scandinavian word "steik," which refers to a thick cut of meat for roasting or grilling, dates back to about the mid-15th century. Eventually, the term evolved into the modern English "steak." I came here for my birthday dinner this year and it was amazing. Cocobana Cooler, PB&J Pork Belly, Bone Marrow in herby butter sauce, and 16 oz. ribeye with green beans and potatoes au gratin? Yes, Yes, YES! While everything was on the heavier side in terms of seasoning, not one bad bite was had. The flavors, the cook on the meat, the sips... all amazing. I wouldn't mind coming back just to order a bunch of appetizers to share. I was so amazed by this place. One of my friends ordered the Chef's Whim, which ended up being a beautiful dish of surf and turf. It looked tasty. The thing that I didn't enjoy was that they required you to give your credit card info when making reservations over the phone, which is the only way you can make reservations at all. I would have preferred and felt more comfortable making reservations online or through an app and leaving my credit card info there instead.

We just finished eating here. The Salad Bowl looked like the greens were just picked this morning under a primo balsamic dressing. The entree was steak and chicken over mashed potatoes and asparagus. The desert blew our mind. See picture.Michael took care of the whole room like a seasoned professional beyond his years. We will be back.

I rarely give 5-stars but this place is worth it. The food is amazing!!! It was hard to decide on which appetizer to get but we narrowed it down the lobster bruschetta. The portion size is large so it's easily shareable. Chunks of lobster were topped on warm toasted thick bread with a pico type of topping. We ate every bite. We also shared the beet salad that came with prosciutto, arugula, toasted bread and a light vinaigrette dressing on the side. We also ate every bite. For the main course, I had the rack of lamb, medium rare, that was seared and sitting on top of a bed of rice and yellow squash. The lamb was tender and seasoned so well that I had to eat it off the bone. My honey got the filet with whipped potatoes topped with an onion ring. He ate it all The ambience is very casual. There's a bar and open kitchen and seating for large and small parties. Service was attentive and helpful. Our server helped us decide on our apps. You won't be disappointed when coming here. I'm already planning my meal out there.

Recommend: Yes! But it is a small restaurant so I hope not everyone decide to go all at once lol. Food: amazing! Delicious and they know how to put things together. Service: great service. Sounds like family own. The husband is one for he chef and the wife works at the bar. Details:Can I tell you that this place was so good that I want to go back already? The octopus was cooked perfectly well with amazing sauces around it. So colorful. A must order dish. I hope they always have this item in the menu. The other dish I got was the seafood of the day. It has risotto rice, seafood with tomato base. So good. I'll definitely be back soon.

Finally had the opportunity to visit The Peppermill. I'm happy to FINALLY have made it here. It's small and cozy environment, it almost gives a cafe vibes.Went there for happy hour and wanted to try a few different things. I ordered:Deviled Eggs - tasty, but very vinegar forwardChicken wings - SO DELICIOUS!!! These wings were fried to perfection, the sauce of the day was carolina bbq sauce. Got the sauce on the side, but this was so goodBleu Cheese+ Short Rib Eggrolls - if imagining small asian like eggrolls, they are not. These eggrolls are almost the size of a wrap, but tasty. It was also a little heavy on the bleu cheese, that's what I tasted the most, couldn't taste the short rib, which is the main reason I ordered the eggrolls. For the entree, I ordered the special which is the Nacho Smashburger which was excellent and the FRIES OMG!!!! Were so deliciousOverall I was very pleased with the experience and definitely will be back for the wings and fries.

The Peppermill Steakhouse was open the next time I went and I was very pleased with the dining experience. The wings on happy hour are $8 for and order of 1w wings. These were cooked to perfection. The wing flavor changes every week. It was Carolina BBQ this time.I went on a Thursday so it was burger and a brew for $18. The burger was a nacho smash burger which was good but would have been better if served hot. The cheese was cold. The burger and bun were a little warm.Looking forward to going to tapas Tuesday.

Service was horrible!Food was decent but made wrong. Tried to make it a second time and was worse. No manager to talk to. Added 20% gratuity for two people but food and service was not even close warrant that much. DO NOT RECOMMEND. WILL NEVER GO BACK.
