Even with its casual vibe and setting in an unassuming strip mall, The Paper Mill deserves 4 stars for finally bringing some local creativity to Mt. Juliet. Beset with a plethora of chains, MtJ's sparse local offerings usually lean toward pub grub. But Paper Mill's tasty dishes make it a local favorite for all diners. Burgers, chicken tenders and sandwiches as well as salads, traditional breakfast fare and lots of sides usually means there is something for everyone. (Their kids portions are very generous.)After experimenting with various menu options and open/close times, they seem to have settled on one all-day brunch menu and a 2pm close. Which is a bummer - we'd love to have them as a dinner place too. The staff is chill, friendly and attentive. One unfortunate change with the new menu was removing the Beyond/Impossible burger option, and not adding any kind of veggie patty either, leaving vegans and vegetarians without a burger choice. With many egg and dairy options, this place is great for vegetarians. Not so much for vegans - although on one visit they kindly subbed avocado in for cheese and didn't up-charge.

They have unique blends of ingredients I have never seen anywhere else and I love that. Our party of 5 were all pleased with their food and 3 had leftovers. The Gouda grits are delicious, rosemary gravy was so good. The chicken and waffles has a black pepper syrup that was interesting and quite good. The option to use egg whites was there and I took it; i so appreciate healthy options. The sweet potatoe hash was yummy and basically tossed with onions and peppers. The staff was hard working; they had pep in their steps.

We went for breakfast on a day they had installed a new operating system. It was not a wonderful experience. We were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. The wait was closer to 45 minutes. At one point 9 tables sat empty, while no one was being seated. A friend whispered they were short staffed... well sit me down, give me some coffee, and explain the service will be slow today. Do not make my try to wrangle my toddler for an hour, while you figure out how to run your restaurant. I ordered the Pepper Jelly Chicken Biscuit. The biscuit was fine, but there was no seasoning on the chicken, and not enough Pepper Jelly to make any type of impact... if it was left off, I wouldn't have noticed the difference. I ordered the Gouda Grits... bland and flavorless. When I asked for Tabasco, every single person at the table took it and added seasoning to their plates as well. The wife had a Cinna-Crunch waffle, which is a waffle with butter and syrup, and 1/4 cup of Cinnamon Toast cereal thrown on top. While it was a cute novelty, dry hard cereal thrown on top has very little magic. Give me cinnamon-sugar butter instead, and dazzle me!Today they were off, and completely missed. They didn't clear our table. We had to ask for more coffee. 3 STARS, because I feel they can get it together in the future.

This place is awesome for breakfast or an early lunch! It has food options for everyone. The place is clean and the service is awesome! My favorite is the loaded hash. This has potatoes, eggs and everything in between. My kids love the pancakes with the honey butter! I love going here and having the staff all be super friendly is a plus!

Went in for lunch at noon on a weekday and it was only about 1/3 full which tracks for a Tuesday. I was happily surprised they said they were also still doing breakfast (their website says breakfast ends at 11 during the week) - I was already set on lunch so I had the hot ham cheese and bacon sandwich with fries and my friend went make your own omelet. The service was great, food came out fast. It wasn't too loud although it wasn't full. Prices were super reasonable and my sandwich was a great size and tasty! My friend enjoyed her omelet and the biscuit it came with! Will definitely be back -

It was my first time at The Papermill. The food was very good but the service was a little lacking. Lots of tables and parking. Our waitress was pleasant but distracted and the biscuit board we ordered was brought out at the same time as the regular food we ordered. The food was good but I was not impressed with the service.

I had heard raving reviews from several locals about this place! So many offerings of fresh, delicious comfort foods.I'll start by gushing about their incredible Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit. Brace yourself for a flavor explosion as you sink your teeth into their buttermilk biscuit (made with love!) generously layered with cheddar(?) cheese, crispy bacon, and fluffy scrambled eggs. Every bite was a symphony of the perfect blend of flavors. I was skeptical at first. I didn't like the look of the cheese, it kinda looked like processed American cheese that wasn't entirely melted but it was actually really, really good! That's all I care about.Next up - the TPM Two Egg Breakfast at The Paper Mill deserves its own standing ovation. It's basically a build-your-breakfast. My plate of deliciousness consisted of two perfectly cooked, buttery scrambled eggs. Paired with crispy bacon that was cooked to crispy perfection, a side of tantalizing crispy potato hash, and--of course--their heavenly biscuits, this breakfast ensemble was nothing short of extraordinary!!I also have a couple honorary mentions. First off, I LOVED the pepper jelly I asked to go with my biscuits. Just the right amount of light sweetness and spicy kick! Highly recommend for the adventurous palate! Also, I ordered a side of sausage gravy to add even more pizzazz. It was absolutely delish! So much so I found myself eating it by the spoonful several times, sns!The ambiance at The Paper Mill is cozy and inviting, making it the ideal spot to start your day with a smile. The charming atmosphere, combined with the outstanding food, creates an unforgettable breakfast experience that will have you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal!

Came here for breakfast and had a great time. The waitress was very friendly and the setting was nice. The special that day was shrimp and grits and they were extremely delicious. They were seasoned well and good portions.
